If the LIV is being created by golfers for the game of golf, nothing more, you have a point. If it's all sportswashing as some allege, it's not posturing. That's key to this whole thing. Why does the LIV exist? If it's for the game of golf, it will upend the professional tour as we know it, probably for the better. But if it's not about golf, then decisions regarding its management and whether or not to keep it going will not be made with golf in mind. And that's critical because if this is serving some other purpose and they decide that purpose is no longer being served, bye bye LIV and all the golfer associated with it. People who played poorly during the LIV tournament we're still paid $120k or something and I agree 120k for being cut in the PGA would be ridiculous but I also think that getting $0 for being cut is also ridiculous in today's sports world. If you think of most other sports (soccer, baseball, rugby, hockey, etc) even if you have a terrible night as a player or a team you are still being paid to play as a professional. Even in baseball's minor leagues you still get paid (although not a lot). I really think that the PGA has to rethink its compensation structure and perhaps start considering a modest base salary for the average tour player if it wants to compete with LIV. I would argue that with all the money flowing in sports through TV and sponsorship revenue that the world in which a professional sports player has to pay entrance fees to play their sport and not get paid if they don't play well no longer exists, and that the PGA has gotten away with it for so long because they haven't had real competition until now.

The PGA tour are morons as they put the game behind an enormous pay wall. it was sickening to watch sky sports in the U.K. offer free coverage of the Canadian open whilst the first liv tour event took place. Sky have now realised that they have massively overpaid for coverage of a tour that is bleeding players. More power to the fans and less to the PGA.

If the PGA doesn't start adjusting its player payment format the LIV Tour will pluck all of the top young players leaving the NCAA/USGA ranks. So stop shaming these men. Media is so petty with this line. PGA needs to open up the bank accounts, change the way they pay their members and compete.
Instead of having the media run air cover for them calling players taking life changing dollars "greedy".
Especially while the US President was in Saudi asking for oil at a cheaper price.
    Hypocrisy abounds.
