Both of them have NPs in their animations! Jeanne's Extra attack is her using her suicide NP, La Pucelle, which she doesn't use in FGO but does in the Extella games. The fact she seemingly disappears upon using it references how it's meant to kill her upon use. Jalter on the other hand is REALLY obscure, but her Arts card where she bombards her foes with lasers from the sky is the NP she used to have as a Ruler in Orleans!
I really hope the continue with animation updates now and this wasnt just a one off thing to stop people from complaining. I would really like to see some animation updates for Mata Hari, Chloe, and a lot of those early servants that missed out.
The problem of the animation update is that they re-use old assets from previous animation than putting alot of effort. Cehck at tesla where his animation is more 4 star.
Jeanne's NP is so good now. And even though I'm not a big fan of the Alter, I might have to get a collection copy because she actually looks pretty amazing now.
As a massive jeanne & jalter fan this is an absolute win for me, used jalter almost everywhere in game, seeing her this FRESH brought me so much joy and satisfaction
Everybody (90%) is just talking about Jalter as expected. I am glad both sisters got an AU. And I'll say it, I am even more happy for og Jeanne, since she is still less popular (I didn't say she is not popular, but far less than Jalter) and deserves more buffs (when Lasagna?). Plus she still only had a true role in the very 1st singularity of part 1, Jalter on the other hand has been on the spotlight in more main story chapters and countless events. AU are the best civ tho, I am still on copium for all of those old servants.
The best part about Jeanne's AU (that's not shown in this video because FGO never done this before) is that she got a specific animation just for Caster Gilles where she pokes him in the eye

Man, I feel like they went crazy with Jalter. The attacks sounds insane too. The NP is how I imagined it, I guess. But I'm very impressed with the normal attacks. I made up my mind. I'm grailing her to 120 😂. Gonna be my first 120. I have her NP3.
NOW my Jalter's NP will be set to play at normal speed forever! GOD this is so freaking SICK! Not to mention they kept/updated all the best parts while also adding a ton of new bangers, this is EXACTLY what i wanted to seeee! (I reallllly realllly hope we get their on global sooooner tho, please!!)
Small reminder: In general "Special" costumes (I mean those for 1000 prisms or Main costumes from events) have their own NP animation. Like, even not expensive ones have their own animation. To my memory the only costume that has old animations it's Karna, but I guess even rizz-glasses cannot withstand Karna's flames.

This is great bro. Like nothing needs to be said this is a HUGE improvement to their gameplay. Animations, story, and gameplay are the reason we get characters and unfortunately Jeanne og is lacking in the gameplay and animations. This makes playing them feel SO much better. Like I’m not even a huge Jeanne fan but I have both og and alter on NA and would use them so much more if they had this animation update.
AM I THE ONLY ONE, thinking that jeanne had always looked like her jaw was pushed forward? She's absolutely stunning now! And the same can be said with jalter! I'll be in qp hell for the jalter banner...
I've been waiting for these animation update for years . Unfortunately being a na player I have to wait another two years... Unless they'll be nice and give them sooner m.. it wouldn't be the first time they have done it.
Would have loved this like two years ago, nowadays there are just way better games to spend my time on. Hope everyone else still playing has fun with the update though!

They did that weird Ordeal Call Gilles animation touch-up with the old sprites so maybe he'll get one soon

Animation upgrade Ruler Jeanne now poke Caster Gilles de Rais eye, even has a special dialogue line for it: "It's punishment time, Gilles!"

Ah, so if she starts with her Quick card, she does her dashing R1 attack from Extella. AKA her ONLY viable attack from Extella.
Its hard to see bcs of the effect but that jalter melee quick animation is not a kick or stab, bit jalter repeatedly slaping enemy with her sword
