This is a lovely performance of this piece. This young man has it all. Most of all “ Ears for what has gone before”. Many years ago, I played with the Cambridge City Jassband, at the old brewery in Mere. I was astounded to see Julian Bream, sitting on the grass in front of the stage. After our concert, sitting in my old VW Camper, I said to my wife, good grief Julian Bream, was in the audience, and how much I would like to meet him, but was too shy. Undaunted by this, my wife, disappeared, and to one of my life’s most endearing memories, returned with Julian, who said, “ If you won’t come to meet me, I’ll come to meet you” !. Flabbergasted, we shared some beer, I fortunately had, and talked of Dowland, Jazz , and much else. A most wonderful Maestro. But ! . The point of this ramble, is how much I admire your playing, and keeping the torch alive. Best Wishes, and Kindest Regards, Yours, John ( Fenner).
Mille mercis.
*Beautiful performance that conveys the sense of the song version of Dowland while still reflecting the fact that the piece is a dance pavan. The melodic embellishments are beautifully rendered. Very refined! I hope a career as a solo lutenist opens up to you and you have the opportunity to record on famous lutes/theorbos.*
What a beautiful video! The music and the setting are so great! I subscribed immediately. I play a lot of lute music on classical guitar. It is so timeless.
Wow! Never tire of listening to this. Beautiful boy as well.

Merci!

He's playing it in a baroque lute isn't he? does anyone have the arrangement by any chance?
Hi! No, it's a 10 course lute :)
Nice playing, although a very small Lute. An 8c Lute with a 70cm string length would be ideal.
