Being 20 and trying to start my own heavy duty/ tow equipment business… number one thing I’m trying to teach myself is no more nice guy… they have issues in their life but at same time your trying to prevent issues in yours, charge them your worth and dip. Repeat customers deserve negotiation
got any advice? being either a repo man or just a on call tow truck driver seems interesting for a job for me, im 19 at the moment. I know a guy who has his own tow truck company with a good 3 trucks
She so blew off a great opportunity for herself and her children! I commend you all for your generosity and the willingness to help people, period! I've helped a lot of people to have a roof and until the last person who broke my back thinking I would let her continue to walk all over my personal boundaries and the house rules, after a long 18 months, I moved very far away from the city she's in, just to be safe. It's a shame that some people take advantage of the kindness for the car, hotel, food, but not showing up to get a place and a means to support the family, shame shame shame on this woman! Sadly this sounds like a drug issue to me... And not trying to judge... I've came from the background I know the signs... And if she is dashing and still broke... Her money is going somewhere... And having all these hands outs and help to better herself and not taking them seems like she is without her drug of choice and low energy and failing to keep appts/arrangements... I was there years ago... It sucks... And maybe that isn't her problem... But whatever it is I pray she gets it figured out... If not for herself atleast do it for her babies...

That's horrible. She had all the help lined up for her and didn't care enough about the kids and how cold its been around here to even go get it. Sad world these days. I would've flipped on her had she been there this time especially if she had the kids in the car. She knows exactly what she is doing. I feel bad for the kids.

I'm always saddened when I see another good person learn this sad lesson you just experienced with this woman. My wife and I are well connected in our community with tools and resources for people who need a hand up. Every once in a while we run into that person or family who don't want to do their part, no matter how basic and simple it is. They don't want a hand up, they want the next hand out. Eventually these people burn their last bridge and vanish from the radar. Our hope is they finally straighten their lives out, but more likely they move on to another town and continue to be professional leeches. And you are left wary of the next person who would be deserving of your help.
Additionally, it's for the best that she didn't show up on Wednesday, the fact she's outright ignoring you all already, she wouldn't have paid for anything else, especially a place to live!
