The gap isn’t terribly far , especially compared to last years panthers team . Montour and OEL loss is enormous . They’ll still be solid , but I’d say the Sabres will absolutely compete well, especially against their bottom 6. I guess we’ll see how motivated Florida is out of the gate .

Most of last years failures were coaching related and injury issues in the top 6 . We now have a better coach and an extremely solid bottom six . They had incredible puck movers , and now are more defensive , and are also getting older / slower , aside from their top 6 guys . They barely made it through a 7 game series with Edmonton , and Edmontons defense is freaking terrible outside of ekholm , and Bouchard
