    Great tips, thanks for the video!
    I noticed in the map image you showed at 0:36 that the hotel is on W Ball Rd. We stay at the hotels on W Ball every time we go and instead of walking the 20+ min. to the main gate entrance on S Harbor, we walk about 8-10 min. to the Pixar Pals or Mickey & Friends parking structures and take the trams. They drop you off at the front (or end?) of Downtown Disney, super close to the Esplanade. We take the same trams back since they usually run 'til midnight -- we always asked how late they run and they always said midnight, even during off-season.
    **I should note that this^ was our experience as annual pass holders BEFORE the pandemic. The last time we went to Disneyland was in 2018, so I'm sure a lot has changed since then. We will find out when we go next year.

      Awesome advice! Thank you for sharing!! We have a couple of the hotels on ball on our list to check out, so this info is super helpful!
      Lots of things have changed in the Disneyland resort area since 2018, but, Disneyland feels the same to us. Still our happy place ☺️

    Thanks for the Tips! Bob & Kelly tell me that you guys film everything with a GoPro ... is that correct? Jace and I will be getting started with our channel soon and he has a GoPro 10 and I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max ... you think that will cover us?

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 года назад

      Thank you!! Yes. For the most part, we film with the go pro and Jim’s iPhone 13. When we film at home we use a Sony A6400. We don’t bring the Sony to the parks anymore. We only use the go pro when it’s light out, as it doesn’t do very well with low lighting. But the iPhone 13 continues to impress us! Crystal has an iPhone 12 and the difference between the 12 And 13 is incredible. The 13 has a much better camera. Just make sure you don’t take anything for the go pro with an extending handle. Security won’t let you bring it in. We glued ours shut. So when they ask, we show them that it can no longer extend. Hope that helps, and thank you so much for watching!!

    Thanks for the tips! Not related , but when you were at Aulani, how was the sofa bed? Comfortable? Big enough for a teen and preteen to fit on? Trying to decide room type for our trip next year.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 года назад

      Hi!! Thank you for watching!! Our boys are 14 and 12 and both are about 5’7. They no longer like to share a bed, so they took turns between the sofa bed and a twin blow up mattress that Aulani provided for us ( I just called housekeeping and they brought one up). They didn’t complain about either bed. I took a nap on the sofa bed and it was really comfortable to me. It felt like a memory foam.
      Are you deciding between a studio and a one bedroom? We are torn too! We would love a one bedroom but wish it had at least a half bath out in the kitchen/living area. We did surprisingly ok in the studio, even having the extra bed in the room. Sometimes it felt a bit tight. For the most part if we were in the room, we (Jim and I) were on the lanai. We love sitting outside and enjoying the weather in Hawaii. A couple times we wished we had a one bedroom. Mainly for the kitchen and a bit extra space. It was significantly more money though, so that is why we picked the studio. Hope that helps!! Let us know if you have any other questions. -crystal

      @@AnaheimParkTourist thanks for the input! Yes, wondering if we needed a 1 bedroom, but it is more expensive. It would be nice to do 1 meal in the room so wanted at least the studio. Still contemplating if a one bedroom is worth it if we have 2 meals a day in the room. My husband isn’t wanting to go out and tour the island too much (☹️) and know he won’t want to eat at the hotel all the time either. We will likely be renting DVC, so that helps cut the cost some. (ps, hope you’re not near the fires).

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 года назад

      @@rrenee3280 We are not near the fires. Thank you for thinking of us! We really didn’t do a whole lot on the island. One guided tour for about 6ish hours. And one day went to Pearl Harbor. We ate breakfast and lunch in our room (or made it there and brought it to the pools) and then we only ate out for dinner. We ate at a mix of places across the street and at the resort. It worked out well! We rented DVC points as well. It’s so much more economical. Hope that helps!

      Hi. Unfortunately, we have not stayed at either of these hotels. Quickly read some reviews and would lean towards Cortona Inn, but strongly suggest you also read most current reviews for both properties to make a decision. Check out both TripAdvisor and Yelp.

      As far as we can tell, it looks like they will still have breakfast included, a shuttle, and free parking. All wonderful amenities in the Disneyland resort area. We are SO excited about their reopening. We always loved our stays there in the past! It sounds like a lot of the staff have stayed too. They are pretty active on social media, if you want to see construction progress.
      After being closed for so long, we would anticipate it might take them a little bit to get back into the swing of things, and that is totally understandable. We assume by October they should be back to normal. ☺️ thank you so much for watching and have a wonderful trip in October!

    I can't find any vlogs about the Anaheim Islander. I wonder why. Would you ever consider it? The reviews and free parking made it win out over the Majestic Garden for me, but there aren't any vlog reviews. I'm wondering if its the longer walk? Any insight?

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  Год назад +2

      This hotel is rated surprisingly high on Tripadvisor. From personal experience, one of our good friends got bed bugs from staying here so we have been a little hesitant staying here ourselves. Please take in mind you can get bed bugs from any hotel, even Disney's Grand Californian had a bed bug issue that made news.
      We have zero personal experience staying here. The reviews tend to be good but land on the side of no frills, clean, noisy, and uncomfortable beds. I would look at the most recent reviews and determine if this hotel fits your needs and standards. Everyone needs and standards are different.
      Some alternatives you might want to check out are King's Inn, Alamo Inn, Hotel 414. We do have videos on these hotels and we had good stays at all three. All are about the same Distance from Disneyland, about 1 mile.

      @@AnaheimParkTourist Thank you for taking the time to respond! I appreciate it. We've stayed at the Kings Inn before, but the reviews on the Islander had me thinking it might be a better option. I'm leaning towards switching to the Majestic Garden though since your review.

      @@jakeandamanda6486 hey! So great to hear. We really enjoyed our stay at the Anaheim Majestic. We loved that they had a restaurant, bar, and gift store that also had some food options. We had wonderful service (with the exception of the bar, but we think they were understaffed). Having a dedicated shuttle was really nice as well. The drivers were wonderful and we didn’t wait long to be picked up. If you are driving, they also have a super big parking lot. We loved not having to squeeze our car into tiny space. If you have any other questions, please let us know. Thank you!!

    Amenities have been SO hit or miss since the pandemic I've found just literally everywhere. I don't blame anyone but ya the websites are often not necessarily the most up to date.
