hi,guys,918 was the beginning of Japanese militarism’s invasion of China. There is a memorial hall for the victims of the Nanjing Massacre in Nanjing. It truly shows the cruelty of the Japanese. I don’t know if you have gone there. If you can’t go this time, you can go there again if you have the opportunity. Take a tour. China has suffered too much in the past 200 years.
The memorial to John Rabe is in Nanjing. Rabe, a German, saved over 200,000 Chinese civilians during the Nanjing massacre. He is considered a hero in Nanjing.
Nanjing has its splendid history, but you can hardly believe that it also has an extremely tragic history, that is, Nanjing after December 13, 1937. After decades of construction, it has become beautiful again, and these green colors are also to comfort those sad souls.
It is amazing and remarkable how China is showcasing her greatest civilization in human history. Cannot think of any other can compare in scales and artistry. The Great walls and Grand canal say it all.
Hello! When you're up on the Porcelain Tower looking at Nanjing, I might be stuck in traffic on the elevated road nearby😊Most of the stories about the Qinhuai River are tied to specific historical figures, and if you’re not familiar with that history, it can certainly lose some of its charm-much like how I felt when I saw many sculptures in Europe. The Porcelain Tower hasn't been rebuilt to its historical form; instead, it's designed with images on glass around it to let people imagine what the original pagoda looked like. Many people complain that this pagoda looks unfinished, but I think the combination of an "unfinished" pagoda and the imagination of the ancient structure is truly romantic.

wow Nanjing is my hometown, welcome to Nanjing!! Here are some must-go places for me: 1. Xuanwu Lake, perfect for an after dinner walk; 2. Purple Mountain, there is a famous Wutong Avenue, sooo beautiful!!; 3. Ming Xiaoling, great history great architecture; 4. Chaotian palace; and if you have time, Nanjing museum is the second largest museum in China, Presidential Palace, Laomendong, Qinhuai He is famous for its night view, Deji is one of the biggest shopping mall in China, and also the Nanjing massacre memorial… and must-eat! Nanjing is famous for its cuisine like Jinling tangbao (soup dumplings); pan fried beef dumplings (Liji is very popular but good); salted duck and roast ducks!!! Nanjing is my favorite city in China, it is one of the most important and historical cities in China, famous for its literature also, a perfect combination of great history and modern world, hope you’ll have a great time here!
The river where you took a boat ride is the Outer Qinhuai River. I suggest you take a boat ride at night to Fuzimiao, where the Inner Qinhuai River is located. It will better showcase the cultural charm of the Qinhuai River.
Personally, I think you guys should go to the Nanjing Massacre Memorial once, although it might be depressing and shocking...But...As a Chinese, I would appreciate it if you could expose this true histroy to more people in the world.

I’m from Nanjing, and am very glad that you also like my lovely home town. While you all praise for how green the city is, the most beautiful season of Nanjing is actually the autumn when most of leaves turn to yellow and the city becomes really colorful. Also as someone said, Nanjing is a very historic city of China, nearly every street name contains a story, hope you could take your time and enjoy your trip in Nanjing.
Welcome to Nanjing, it is a city that full of history (both modern and old). If you are still in Nanjing, and would like to explore some more historical part of Nanjing, [Niushou mountain] is highly recommended(it is a bit far from city center, but the view should be worth it), and if you would like to try some authentic local food in Nanjing, [Nanjing roast duck](which is the origin of Beijing Duck), and [Duck blood and vermicelli soup] are some must try. If you already left Nanjing, hope you enjoyed the time and food here, and also "enjoyed" the warmth of the city. If you ever plan to visit again, plz free feel to let us know, and we would love to give you a more authentic tour.
the Buddha relic mentioned in this video was discovered in 2010 and is no longer in that temple. The Buddhism community of China has made a decision to build a new underground palace to house the relics and spent tons of resources in that. That is the Niushou Mountain Culture Tourism Zone which was opened in 2015, a masterpiece of modern illustration of Buddhism. Hope you have visited that area before leaving Nanjing.
About the modern asian minimalist reconstruction, while I appreciate them in the past and even now but it is growing thin. Time for a cool and modern extreme intricate asian design. I quote Katherine from Katherine's Journey to the East, "down with modern Asian minimalism! Bring back the little guys!" Since you guys are in Nanjing, perhaps visit Niushoushan temple complex, the modern temple that hold the skull of Shakyamuni (Buddha) relic for the anti minimalist interpretation of a temple. The Jiangnan region, including Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, is extremely hot during the summer, with temperatures of 35°C, 39°C, and even 40°C being quite normal. However, it’s very pleasant to visit in April, May, September, October, or November. This region has been wealthy since ancient times, and it is known for its outstanding people and beautiful landscapes. Jiangsu is a hub of education in China, and the Jiangnan region, with Shanghai as an international metropolis, is one of China’s economic centers. The cuisine here is rich and diverse, and the area is home to many tourist attractions, such as West Lake, Taihu Lake, and the Zhoushan Archipelago. The capital cities and nearby second- and third-tier cities in these provinces are all worth experiencing. For example, Nanjing and its surrounding areas, like Yangzhou and Zhenjiang, offer an authentic taste of Jiangnan's charm.
As a local Nanjinger, the boat has two routes. You are taking the one in the external Qinhuai River. There is another route for the internal Qinhuai River, and that one opens at night. You should go inside Fuzimiao, the pedestrian street and once you see the huge wall with two dragons, that's where you go on board.
There are a lot of historical stories alone QinHuai river, you have to listen to what the tour guide said. Of course, it is much better if you take the cruise after sunset. Last time I went there I couldn't help crying. It's really mind blowing and remind us the importance of peace.🕊
In fact, the ticket window writes that you can take a night cruise for an additional 20 yuan, which means there is actually a cruise available at night.
I really like the ancient historic culture in Nanjing!!!!! The Nanjing City Wall is the largest existing original city wall. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 700 years. Most of them are original ancient city walls, unlike some other "ancient" towns that were built in the past 10 to 20 years!!!!!
really like your videos. I am a local of Nanjing. If possible, you can try Nanjing roast duck and duck blood fans. I am also willing to recommend some to you
Nowadays, boat cruises are just ordinary tours. Hundreds of years ago, this was the beginning of the most extravagant nightlife in Nanjing, when the literati would rent a boat at night with a band and dancers, inviting the most famous songstresses of the Qinhuai River to perform on board, drinking and enjoying themselves as if they were floating on the surface of the water like a nightclub.Of course, if your wallet is thick enough, there are indescribable sports for two (or more) in the second half of the night.
I wonder if you went to the right boat cruising on the Qinhuai River? 😅 seems quite boring and no view to see except for the old wall😅 I remember the Qinhuai River is going through the Confusion Temple area in the downtown, which is one of the most appealing parts of the city. You guys seem to have missed it. 😅
Welcome to China. Thank you for your video to let the people of the Western world understand the current China. But I still hope you can change the Chinese title to an English title.
Maybe it was because of the flood, they cancelled the Qinhuai River project. I have been to Nanjing, and I took a boat trip on the Qinhuai River at night. The night view of the Qinhuai River is particularly charming. It is a pity that you did not see it.
Google "what are the major attractions in Nanjing?"- some prominent sites are Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum, Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, night time at Qinhuai He river, Xuanwu Lake Park, .... So many famous places in this ancient city.
The chinese state/nation is roughly ~2200 years old & it's coincide with Chinese Buddhism, introduced by Kushan Empire (India/Pakistan/Afghanistan/Iran/Central Asia etc ) by Yuezhi people who came Western China . This was also the beginning of representing Buddha in human form ( though older statues have been found ) , earlier ( still is ) he was represented by various symbols . Therefore to be oldest , remains has to be from that time . Empire remains can be found in Shanghai Museum .
Stunning views!!! Kinda reminds me of Central Park and Manhattan

Nanjing is the city that I have been to in China with most tree density. 😊 got stunned by it first time there 😊
Do go to exhibition of the Nanjing Massacre there plz!!!!Many foreign go there and u can learn some historical facts that nowhere else could find!!!!❤❤❤I am from Nanjing and I am now an international student in Mel. Last time I went there I couldn't help crying. It's really mind blowing and remind us the importance of peace.🕊
In fact, the ticket window writes that you can take a night cruise for an additional 20 yuan, which means there is actually a cruise available at night.
It’s so beautiful ❤❤❤
Amazing❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I really like the ancient historic culture in Nanjing!!!!! The Nanjing City Wall is the largest existing original city wall. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and has a history of more than 700 years. Most of them are original ancient city walls, unlike some other "ancient" towns that were built in the past 10 to 20 years!!!!!
The most famous food in Nanjing is "鸭血粉 duck blood powder" or roast duck. You can try any food related to duck meat.
南京盐水鸭,你别搞错
@@huiyuchina8594 你没吃过鸭血粉丝吗?盐水鸭我吃过,一般般。鸭血粉挺不错的。
have you tried the nan jin salt duck? it is a must have in the city
highly recommend Nanjing National Museum! many historical artifacts!
really like your videos. I am a local of Nanjing. If possible, you can try Nanjing roast duck and duck blood fans. I am also willing to recommend some to you
❤️ thank you so much
good trip to museum in China and history is great
You guys need to come to Suzhou it’s near nanjing and it’s one of the most beautiful cities in china.
Going there soon ❤️
Also, the Confusion Temple (Fu Zi Miao) area is a focus of various Nanjing local authentic snacks, you guys may have a try if you have time…
If the boat goes superfast....your trip will be over superfast too.... haha
Just jaw dropping, wow......
Welcome to China. Thank you for your video to let the people of the Western world understand the current China. But I still hope you can change the Chinese title to an English title.
Come to Hangzhou ,the heaven city ,just 90 minutes high speed train from Nanjing.
Maybe it was because of the flood, they cancelled the Qinhuai River project. I have been to Nanjing, and I took a boat trip on the Qinhuai River at night. The night view of the Qinhuai River is particularly charming. It is a pity that you did not see it.
非常喜欢你们❤
Google "what are the major attractions in Nanjing?"- some prominent sites are Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum, Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, night time at Qinhuai He river, Xuanwu Lake Park, .... So many famous places in this ancient city.
夜游秦淮河更好🎉🎉
I highly recommend visiting Huangshan in Anhui province, which is my hometown.😊
The chinese state/nation is roughly ~2200 years old & it's coincide with Chinese Buddhism, introduced by Kushan Empire (India/Pakistan/Afghanistan/Iran/Central Asia etc ) by Yuezhi people who came Western China . This was also the beginning of representing Buddha in human form ( though older statues have been found ) , earlier ( still is ) he was represented by various symbols . Therefore to be oldest , remains has to be from that time . Empire remains can be found in Shanghai Museum .
王朝時期是公元前2000年,部落時期是公元前5000年,产生文明時期是公元前8000年。
I know it is hot there 😄. I was on the same tower August 8. It was 40 C / 102 F there.
