I have been watching you guys from India to the Philippines to other parts of SE Asia but I have never seen you guys as satisfied as you are in China. Speaks of volumes about the overall value of China tourism and its people and of course the food.
In China, people are encouraged to take away the food which they can’t finish on the table. It doesn’t waste food, makes you uncomfortably full, and can serve as your next meal. All you have to do is point to the food and say "DaBao（take it away）" to the waiter before you leave the restaurant, and they are welcome u to do so. (But sometimes you need to charge a packing box fee of about 1~2rmb)❤
Seafood family dumplings from Qingdao, Shandong: the green ones are sea urchin filling, the black ones are squid filling, the yellow ones are yellow croaker filling, and the white ones are mackerel filling. They taste exceptionally delicious.
The premise is that you really like to eat seafood. I am in Xiamen, and sometimes friends from the northern inland come to Xiamen for sightseeing and invite them to eat. They always ask if they can accept it and if it tastes good. If they can, I will order the original seafood, and if they cannot accept it, I will choose stir fry or deep fry
Just an explanation for the dumplings. QD people love to make dumplings with different seafood and the dough skin colour is actually from natural food. so the stuff inside are distinguished by the skin colour. green colour is from spinach for urchin dumplings or fish dumplings. yellow is pumpkin for yellow croaker fish, black is from squid ink for calamari or squid dumplings. white original colour is usually for prawn or spanish mackerel. pink colour is from dragon fruit. But they are all delicious and safe to eat. QD is also famous for its coffee and Korean restaurants. Enjoy the trip!

I really appreciate your natural and peaceful style delivered in the videos. Your approach of experiencing China and its people and culture is so humble, tolerant and positive. I think a government really loves its people would try its best to create a living environment which is pleasant, convenient, safe...and the most important, affordable, for its people. No governments in the world are perfect but the Chinese government at least to a large extent is taking care of its people for their better quality of life.

There’s a genuine and irrepressible excitement and satisfaction in finally indulging in something that brings them back home, which I can totally relate to. the best Qingdao seafood and beer is always hiden in the little street, nearby the beach and seashore. u must try streetside beer that contained by iron bottle and sold by plastic bags, that's how local Qingdao people buy beer and bring home to drink with dinner. Qingdao is my absolute favorite city in China. People, climate , food , blue skies, convenience of the best infrastructures around, historic sites, low cost , no crime and picturesque scenic areas. I sincerely hope to retire there.

Hi Luke and Naomi! A piece of interesting information for you guys. The wrap of the green dumplings are made with spinach. The wrap of the orange dumplings are made with carrots. The wrap of the black dumplings are made with the “ink” from the squid. There is no artificial food coloring. The colors are all from natural sources.

In Thailand that pork knuckle dish is also popular, it's called Ka muu German, literally German pork leg
If you like seafood, go for the steamed dumplings, but not a big fan of seafood, order the fried ones.
