Ordered it in July 2023, now able to test it using my GFX 50r body. Glad to say it is working like a charm. No issues!
Nice!
You guys rock for making affordable adapters and shift plates.
Glad to help! :)
Would love to be able to use my Mamiya 6 lenses on my GFX! There are tens of thousands of Mamiya 6 lenses out there - more than there are for the 7, and most are still in great shape. Please consider making an adapter for those too. Thanks!
We're looking into it! Thanks for letting us know that you're interested.
+1 on this
@@FotodioxInc Yes please! Adapt the Mamiya 6 lenses! I have the full set I'd love to use on my GFX-100s
@@FotodioxInc I'm interested in a Mamiya 6/GFX adapter as well. Please do it!
@@clickroach It's tricky but we might be able to figure it out.
Thank you for the review. What comes with the adapter in the box? Just the adapter or any front / rear caps also?
This is fabulous! There is one other thing I would love, but it would require serious tech support -- a 13 blade (or more) iris for the Mamiya 7 lenses. The lenses are amazing in every regard except that 5 blade iris.
A company that could mod lenses to have more aperture blades would be awesome!
I have and love this adapter. It works great with all my mamiya lenses and they look fantastic...43,50,65,80,150 and 210
Kelvin Franke is there any way to look at some of your raw images from this setup? Thanks
Go to the Facebook Fuji GFX page (I think) and search for mamiya 7 Fuji and will find a posting where I did this
@@kelvinfranke2336 thanks, after a bit of searching found it. facebook.com/groups/36005808368/?post_id=10157568709183369 thanks for posting!

@@FotodioxInc purchased! thankyou!
Hi, love the adapters - however, any info for Mamiya 6mf lens adapters for Fuji gfx series????
Unfortunately we don't currently offer an adapter for Mamiya 6 lenses.
@@FotodioxInc Thanks for letting me know.
@@FotodioxInc any roadmap to make one? Mamiya 6 lenses are amazing, I'd love to prolong the use of them.
@@space-log We don't have anything to announce at this time. Part of the trickiness is getting the adapter to talk to the lens.
Oh, great stuff! Unfortunately I dont have a Fuji. Do you consider making an L-Mount version?
Also, did you talk to Fuji so the could adjust firmware to use your adapter and consequentaly the shutter natively (paid firmwareupgrade or similar)? Could be a nice cooperation...
Hi Timon, we may make an L-mount version in the future. Currently there are no plans to make a version that fires the Mamiya 7 lens's leaf shutter. This is because the timing between the digital camera and adapted lens is too complex to nail with a lens adapter.
Would be nice if you made a shift version of this adapter, as the Mamiya 7 lens image circles are large enough to get useful shift with the GFX, and you already make good shift adapters for other lens mounts.
Cool idea!
Question: Do you foresee doing a Mamiya Six to GFX adaptor soon? Cheers, Neil.
It's a possibility, but we don't have anything to announce at this time.
Thank you for making this new mamiya 7 lens adapter for GFX mount camera. I was dreaming about it!
Before to order it, i would like to know what is the equivalent 35mm lens if I use for exemple the 80mm F/4 Mamiya lens on GFX 100-S. What is the crop factor in fact?
An 80mm Mamiya lens adapted to a Fujifilm GFX camera with this adapter will be a 63mm full frame equivalent.
For reference, here's a handy calculator that we use, very useful for this sort of thing: mmcalc.com/
Hi i am considering buying this adaptor. I have a 65mm and a 80mm mamiya lens. What will their equivalent focal lengths be on a fujifilm GFX body? As they are both medium format will it be similar?
Since full frame is the equivalent, you just have to do the math with the GFX's sensor. So the 65mm would be a 51mm full frame equivalent, and the 80mm would be a 63mm full frame equivalent. Here's a website to help with future calculations: mmcalc.com/
Dumb question but just in case: Does it also works with the Fuji GFX 50R? And not so dumb question: Can this accommodate the Mamiya 43mm f4.5 that has a long protruding barrel?
Yes, it will work on the GFX 50R and it supports all Mamiya 7 lenses including the 35mm.
What’s scary about this is that I was just DMing someone today about adapting film lenses to the GFX and Sony cameras. I’m looking for a digital medium format solution, so the person suggested that I adapt my medium format film lenses to a GFX. I told them that unfortunately no one has made an adapter for Mamiya 7 lenses yet. Well, lo and behold 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Where can I see some sample images?

Fotodiox Inc thanks for the samples!
Hey, Sean! Are there plans to make this adapter for Hasselblad's X mount? I'd absolutely love to use this for the X2D!
It would be cool, but I can't say for sure at this point.
Hi, I wish to know if the adapter keeps the leaf shutter of the lens open by using electricity (so does it have an internal battery or does it use the battery of the Fuji camera?) or it is a completely mechanical operation.
This adapter locks open the leaf shutter with electricity. It doesn't have a battery and it draws power from the camera's battery.
@@FotodioxInc fantastic thank you! Can I close the leaf shutter (to save battery power) the way I open it, ie rotating the adapter ring? Or should I shut off the camera to save batteries? I guess the batteries will last much less if they have to keep the leaf shutter always open.
@@paolosaccheri1094 It draws very little power, and if you let your camera go to sleep mode, it turns off and locks the shutter to save power, so when you wake it up you have to re-cock the blue ring.
Will this adapter also work on Mamiya 6 lenses? Especially the 150 f:4.5? many thanks
This only works with Mamiya 7 lenses.
Will it be compatible with the newly releases GFX 100s?
It works well on the GFX 100, so we don't foresee it having any issues with the 100s
Any hope you guys can make an adapter that lets us USE the Mamiya leaf shutter in the lens, to get shutter speeds in sync mode beyond the gfx 50 125 shutter speed limits?
That would be quite a feat of engineering! Not impossible, but I think this adapter is probably the best we'll be able to offer for now.
Any Plans for a Mamiya 7 to EOS? Thanks :)
Not at this time.
Let's see a Mamiya 6 to X1D adapter!
We're looking into it!
The calibration for exif data must be done every time the machine is turned off and on?
Where can i find it in Europe?
No, you only have to re-calibrate the adapter when you change lenses. In Europe you can get the Mamiya 7 FUSION at the Lumiere shop: lumiere-shop.de/en_GB
does it use mamiya's leaf shutter for highspeed on GFX?
No, it just locks the leaf shutter of the adapted lens open so you can use the shutter in the GFX camera.
How do M7 lenses handle the 100mp resolution? are they sharp similar to GF lenses?
They're not going to be as sharp because they were designed to resolve on film, which was a more forgiving medium. You still get a nice image, it's just less sharp and a little less detailed.
Hi My Mamiya &'s 43 mm and 65 mm lenses are not working with the adapter. Any advise.
Make sure to follow the steps in the video. if you're still having issues, contact our tech support team here: fotodioxpro.com/pages/contact-us
Could this adapter use mamiya7 lens shutters instead of camera shutter?
Unfortunately all this adapter can do is lock the shutter in a Mamiya 7 lens open so you can use the camera's shutter instead. We looked into doing it the other way, but getting the camera to communicate with such an old lens was not feasible.
Will this work perfectly fine with the GFX 100?
Yes, we've tested our GFX adapters on the GFX 100 and they work well.
any sample images from a 150mm f/4.5?
Unfortunately we don't have that lens in-studio to demo.
Can this be used on a cambo actus?
Unfortunately not because you need electronic power between the camera and lens to unlock the Mamiya 7 lens.
What will the effective focal length of the Mamiya 7 lenses be when mounted on the GFX cameras?
GFX cameras have a sesnor size of 43.8 x 32.9, which is an 0.79x crop, so a 50mm Mamiya 7 lens would be equivalent to a 39.5mm lens.
@@FotodioxInc I request that you make a similar Sony FE mount so that I can use my Mamiya lenses on my Sony a7RIV.
@@jsm2U Thanks for the suggestions. This was a very complex design process, so we can't guarantee we'll have it available for more mounts soon, but keep an eye out for future announcements!
@@FotodioxInc Are you sure? The sensor of the GFX is much smaller than the film area of 6x7cm covered by the Mamiya 7 lens. The crop factor is not that of a "full frame" 35mm DSLR. The Mamiya 7 lens is used to cover a much larger area of film. If you compare the diagonal sizes of both the GFX sensor and Mamiya film area, the crop factor is actually closer to 1.6X. So any given 6x7 lens would act like a longer lens than it is labeled on the GFX.
@@billmarsh7760 I mean in terms of the full frame equivalent, which is always full frame. A 50mm Mamiya 7 lens would be an even wider full frame equivalent on an original Mamiya 7 camera, which has a larger film plane than a Fujifilm GFX camera's sensor.
Please also make a adapter for Sony E mount.
Thanks for the suggestion
Would be nice if the internal shutter of the Mamiya lens could be put to work. Without any hick ups that is...
It's definitely something we'd like to do too, but getting the adapter to communicate between the lens and camera accurately enough to fire an adapted lens's leaf shutter for an exposure is just a bit too complicated for our design team at this time.
The mamiya 7 lenses are nice, no doubt about that. But: Why not offer Mamiya/PhaseOne AF adpters for the GFX? These lenses are much more widespread, there are a lot of them and with a bit of tinkering one might even be able to fire the central shutter of a Schneider LS lens! Imainge that!
Thanks for the suggestion!
@@FotodioxInc Seriously guys, just about everyone who switched from a Mamiya 645AF and/or PhaseOne system to the Fuji GFX system is looking for such an adapter! Even if the LS doesn't work it'll still be worth it for the autofocus and autoaperture control.
@@Crispy_Bee Making an adapter that could accurately communicate electronically between those lenses and the GFX camera would be quite a technical challenge, but I'll pass your request along to our design team.
One more question, does the GFX autofocus function will work with this adapter?
No, this adapter does not auto focus, so you have to focus manually.
what about autofocus?
You have to focus manually.
Is there an adaptor to use this lens on my Nikon Z6?
Not at this time.
no sample images? lol

Mamiya 7 lenses are too expensive just buy native glass
Agreed. We made this adapter line more for people who already own Mamiya 7 lenses and want to use them on their digital cameras.
I bought this adapter since I have a Mamiya 7 with three lenses. IT DOES NOT WORK! $500 piece of junk! The lenses do not open, and when they do, they close its shutter quickly, so it is completely unusable. Tried contacting their customer service, very rude and unfriendly!
I would not waste my money on this piece of rubbish, especially since support is non-existent.
Hi LeaKiller131, we've tested these adapters thoroughly and never run into those issues. When you say the shutter closes, do you mean when you turn the camera off? Or is the shutter closing randomly between shots? Also, did you contact our tech support? All of our products have a two year warranty and we could most likely send you a correctly functioning warranty replacement.
