- The silicone gave out at the bottom front of my tank and flooded my house with 112 gallons of salt water. They have deleted my comments and those of my supporters. Here is an update. Follow me on instagram and TikTok for further updates @TheCoralDoctor ServPro: 562-491-5339 Ig: @R3servpro

I'm so sorry this happened to you! I recently had a leak but the tank was almost 30 years old which is understandable. I know your 425xl is not that old and I've seen so many others with the Red Sea reefer do the exact same thing. I have the 525xl and it's over 5 years old but I worry after seeing so many fail. Especially since you didn't see any warning signs like air pockets in the silicone. I'm glad you're not giving up. Once you are back up and running, hit me up and I'll send you a nice coral pack to help you bounce back. Keep the positive attitude. I'm so sorry for the loss of your pets.
Sorry for the losses. I have a 525XL which is just over 4 years old. I do have 2 air gaps at the bottom of the front glass. One's about 6 inches and the other 8. I am currently looking at my options, but unfortunately I will be breaking down the tank before a catastrophe happens.
Omg! If there are air gaps take it down asap!!!! It could go at any moment ! 💔💔
OMG that's horrible. It seems to be a theme with Red Sea. I thought after this last manufacturing update they have ironed it out. Apparently not. I'm so sorry for you!
It is awful! They blocked me and deleted all of my supporters comments this morning. There are threads of the newer models failing as well, I suggest anyone with a RS transfer to another brand while you have the time!
there is a vid, from gallery aquatica that mentions the "intended overhang" of the tank (by approx 1") design on the front of the cabinet to have a flush 'pretty' look .... looking at misc vids of RS failures, this is common, and on corners not just long runs ... i mean you just can't overhang any part of these big rimless tanks
I agree. I just posted an update this morning, showing my set up as we dismantled it. It’s a shame that people like myself are spending thousands of dollars on this product for its not be structurally supported to last. RS had one job which is to make a product that would hold water. They have failed to do that with so many failures.
Did you have the Generation 2 model?
Super lame. A nightmare for sure.
And they have deleted everyone’s comments and blocked me. Truly disgusting!
You kinda cute😅
Thank you 😂😂
They need to reach out to you immediately. You lost your fish and some coral smh
They are still silent on the issue
All these youtube videos of RedSea tanks leaking have helped to decide whether I want to waste my money on it. I'm definitely not getting one. You pay an arm and a leg for it and get trash!
@@UnMinutoViajando exactly, it wasn’t worth the money!
you gotta brace and support your tanks folks
It is the manufacturers that need to do that before selling them to unsuspecting people. People shouldn’t spend thousands of dollars on the aquarium just have to modify it to ensure its integrity. However, for those who already have one this is something that they might be able to consider. I still would not risk it.
