Red Sea Tank Silicone FAIL Update #2
🌊⚠️ Please share so people can be aware! Here is the second update. None of my fish or coral survived due to the stress of the sudden tank transfers. Red Sea has deleted all my comments and my supporters and blocked me. This is their customer relations! No conversations or solutions. Imagine spending thousands on a company and they block you instead of helping you find a solution. I encourage anyone with one to switch while they still can. This issue is too common to risk your pets & home. #underwater #aquarium #oceanconservation #coralreef #redseareefer #redsea #tankfail #siliconefail #reeftank #reef2reef #thecoraldoctor #aquariumhobby #aquariumfish

    That's a classic move that they always do is block the customer so they can avoid having to own anything. Im sorry this has happened it truely is one of the worse things to have to go through. Watching everything slowly die all your efforts going down the drain while thousands of dollars of damage happen, it's emotional breaking, all while a company gets away with being aware this is happening to thousands of people and not doing a thing to have to own their mistake. there is a vid, from gallery aquatica that mentions the "intended overhang" of the tank (by approx 1") design on the front of the cabinet to have a flush 'pretty' look .... looking at misc vids of RS failures, this is common, and on corners not just long runs ... i mean you just can't overhang any part of these big rimless tanks

      I agree. I just posted an update this morning, showing my set up as we dismantled it. They have failed to do that with so many failures.

Especially since you didn't see any warning signs like air pockets in the silicone. I'm glad you're not giving up. • @edwardsdeacon
    @edwardsdeacon Год назад

    🤔 You didn’t have enough substrate in your aquarium to house beneficial bacteria. You also most likely feed your fish to much. A very small amount once a day or every other day is adequate. There should also be some live plants in your tank ( several of them ) to filter your water. You had too many nutrients in your water. This is what will keep your aquarium from getting algae. 👍🏽

  • @troyarthur829
    @troyarthur829 Год назад

    Simple cure as well as prevention would be to get your fingers into stirring the gravel around when you vacuum the bottom with the gravity vacuum. My problem is not green water, but my stones that I use for decorations and my plastic plants are all displaying a green coating. I know its because of the algae wafers i put in for the pleco and my catfish. I’m thinking to stop using the wafers. I’m welcoming any ideas or tips. I only use 3 mini wafers per day. Plus I’m using a chemical to try to control algae growth as well.

      Hydrogen peroxide and Poly-Fil would’ve solved your problem a long time ago, hassle-free. No wonder aquarists and fishkeepers are increasingly just going with Polynesian Style aquascaped aquariums (look it up on RUclips). The underlying issue is that blue-green algae isn’t algae at all. It’s actually bacteria called Cyanobacteria. That’s why algae killing/algae control chemicals or machines are hit-or-miss, whereas antiseptics like hydrogen peroxide and antibiotics like API E-Mycin are the only 100% guaranteed solutions to green water. Don’t pour the H2O2 directly above a fish as it will kill it. Dilute in a pitcher of tank water then pour it in. Hope this helps. Cheers.

    I just had a bacteria bloom happen to my tank a few days ago. It happened while I was sleeping at night. It was fine before I went to sleep, the next morning I woke up, my tank was like milk instead of water and everything was dead, not a single fish survived. Also the water smelled like a stink bomb, it was stinky as hell, it smelled like seachem prime but 5x worse lol. During these past few days, I did water changes and did everything I could trying to find out where the problem lies, but the tank would eventually turn completely white again and smelled really bad. In the end I traced the problem back to the canister filter. I smashed the motor compartment since there was no way to open it based on how they designed it and inside there was a few dead nerite snails and their deteriorating shells. I suspect it most likely got there by crawling into the hole on the surface skimmer. Just today I went out to buy a HOB filter that has a UV light inside(it's called GRECH CBG-500), and the water has started to cleared up these 5 hours.
