Got Maelmc's favorite upgrade this week, and it's only now that I realize that there are actually quite a number of rivals in the game that are Normal-type? Which makes it a good type lol. Got one of the rotational patterns this week again, which isn't really that favorable for my caked unit roster but eh.
0:11 - Strike + Tech vs. Melony's Battle Challenge (Severely Strained Relations) - EX-R Classic Blue / EX-R SC Barry / EX-R Anni Lillie
Area 1 Strike + Tech has two possibilities, and they both repeat it. This was made for Gordie, and it's actually quite annoying but it thankfully showed up in Area 1.
1:45 - Tech + Support vs. Nessa's Battle Challenge (Severely Strained Relations) - EX-R SS Silver / EX-R SS Steven / EX-R Tierno
Actually hilarious that I got these two back-to-back - this and the previous battle challenge are from the same event, with this one being meant for Victor.
3:53 - Support + Field vs. Curious Tea Party Battle Challenge - EX-R SS Silver / EX-R Variety Thorton / EX Classic Giovanni
Three back-to-back battle challenges huh. I'm just grateful they're in the firs three areas. Reused SS Silver since his physical damage is good here, with his father giving him the buffs he needs.
6:32 - Field + Sprint vs. Poison-weak Blue: EX-R Geeta / EX DC Wally / Archer
I only have one Normal-type unit with either Field or Sprint so I'm very thankful that this stage turned out to be easy. It also gave me an excuse to use my brand-new DC Wally!!! (Even if I just kinda shoehorned him into this comp but let me have this.)
8:17 - Sprint + Strike vs. Rock-weak Karen: EX-R SS Gladion / EX-R Penny / EX Hugh
Hugh's always a nice unit to have for this since he's pretty flexible for a strike unit - he has flinch, and his two HP pools make him a good pseudo-tank. I use the former here, though he was mainly here for the upgrade bonus.
9:52 - Strike + Tech vs. Super Tour Guide Rosa Battle Challenge: EX-R NC Cheren / EX-R SS Hau / EX SC Steven
This stage was made for SC Rosa and it is absolutely the most annoying one this rotation. It took me so many resets just to get past Turn 1, switching between SC Steven and SS Hau as tanks. In hindsight NC Cheren might've been better since he has Fly, but I wanted to use him for his high damage.
12:14 - Tech + Support vs. Ghost-weak Acerola: EX-R NC Serena / EX-R NC Calem / Lenora
Thankfully got a much easier stage afterwards that the frog duo was all too happy to handle, and they even got Lenora's help for the debuffs and upgrade bonus.
14:33 - Support + Field vs. Water-weak Kukui: EX-R SS Morty / EX Lodge Wally / EX-R Mix Blue
Might be counter-intuitive to use a sun comp against an enemy with a Fire-type sync but what else was I gonna do with SS Morty. At least the team is bulky enough to handle it, which is entirely because of Lodge Wally's defensive buffs and Attack debuffs, of course.
17:57 - Field + Sprint vs. Summer 2022 Battle Challenge: EX Mix Red / EX-R Red / EX-R NC Rosa
Super annoying that I got a pretty hard Battle Challenge for Area 9, but they thankfully don't have Resilience so I'm free to just use Rosa's Sing Spam. I probably should've saved Red's TM for Area 10 but eh, hindsight is 20-20.
21:24 - Sprint + Strike vs. Thorton: EX-R NC Silver / EX-R SS Wally / EX-R Red (+ Guard Chocolat purchase)
Guard Chocolat is gonna be near-required if we get Noland's Ultimate Battle in Rally haha. I used it against his fellow Battle Factory Head here since this stage was very annoying without it, and it was still a pretty close call.

Normal-Type deserves a dedicated stage where Normal-Type damage is super effective. Could be like one of those reverse weakness battles like in Gen 5 and 6.
Inverse battle, and I think that’s only in Gen 6.
