    Utilities is likely in most people's top ten bills. Natural gas plus electric is my third largest expense behind grocery and taxes. US Bank cash plus or Elan max cash preferred at 5% should be in most top tens.

    Bank of America customized cash is great catch all if you buy a lot online it's 3% your choice category with online shopping being one and 2% on grocery and wholesale clubs. You can get 5.25% on online shopping and 3.5% on grocery and wholesale clubs if you max out there reward structure.

      I moved my IRA here just for this. Crazy powerful getting 2.62% on everything, 3.5% on dining, travel, warehouse clubs, and groceries, and 5.25% on online shopping (which includes my charity donations too).

    We're a family of 5, so anything involving food has to be maximized. I'd also love to pay my mortgage - come on Bilt!

    The SavorOne would be better for dining and entertainment cause it’s uncapped of 3 and 8% unlike CC where it’s capped at $500

      Hey! When you say CC are you referring to the "Citibank Custom Cash Card"?

    For those who live in cities where cars aren’t that prevalent, I’d substitute Public Transit for #3.
    As for cards, Wells Fargo Attune, US Bank Cash+, Citi Custom Cash, and Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards are great options.
    Great video Adam!

    Your "Catch all" 2% credit cards might be running scared. Reddit is talking about the Robinhood Solid Gold card which offers 3% cash back across the board. No annual fee. But there's a waiting list.

    • @ProudMoney
      @ProudMoney  3 месяца назад +1

      Last I looked it was no annual fee if you are a paid member of their Gold program that is priced at $5 per month or $50 per year, so you are paying them if you want the card and need to factor that in.

    • @Tuxedosam.
      @Tuxedosam. 3 месяца назад

      The Robinhood Gold card is only worth it if you plan to put over 5k on the card per year or alright have Robinhood Gold and would be paying for it without the card. If you don't meet any of those requirements just get a 2% cause you will get more value

      @@ProudMoney Oh. I didn't know about the $5 per month. Thanks for the head's up.

    • @dh2266

      @@bethearl8686yeah you have to have Gold which is $5/month HOWEVER Gold is valuable already. With an extra 2% IRA matching, that alone already comes out ahead. The credit card (IF this ever happens) is just icing on the cake).

    I'd really like a card with a strong wholesale club category. BJ's card is underwhelming and I do a decent chunk of my grocery shopping there.

      Yeah, I'm a little surprised we don't see this category more often, though it could be that some people use them so often that it would be too generous in terms of giving rewards.

      the Kroger credit card has 5% on mobile wallets, up to $3k in calendar year.

    >The Shop Your Way from Citi for the ongoing rewards. It makes 5% look very small. The only downside is the offers sometime very and your timing on offer verses when you want to spend though there tends to be so many offers (historically stack-able too) as far I hear that you get them starting several months after getting the card.
    >Getting gift cards at gas stations with some issuers can make it so you can get other stores (buy at a gas station gift card for groceries). You do loose protections as you are buying with a gift card instead of a purchase over $50 so keep that in mind if you risk a defective item.
