Good review. I have the AAA TA, the BCE, and a VX, but since I'm working on the spending requirements on new business cards while at 4/24, I had to put them on hiatus. I'm not sure if the AAA or the BCE will be used that much in the next year, especially if I decide to jump on a CSP (and off the ink train) if it does get a great welcome offer... because getting the AMEX Gold and/or the Savor 1 will have a better return on spend than the cash back cards. I guess I'm not a one-card guy, lol.

Current card that I would say: Discover Miles as long as you don't mind opening another account and closing the second (that is still one card your using - sort of) as last I knew you still can churn them and it is *unlimited 3% back on all categories of purchases* and get 1.5% each month and the rest with the cash back match.
Card of the future: The Federal Reserve card.
Though if you have less than or around $10,000 spend on groceries (or $7,000 on gas or electric charging) then like the good Adam Jusko said in the video the one of the AAA Comenity dual of cards is better for the spend as that can be a good as 5% back if under the cap.

I wouldn't have thought about the Gold being good if you just wanted 1 card, but I could see it for the right person. Though Amex isn't accepted everywhere which is a downside. I do agree with others that say the US Bank AR should be here. Assuming you can do a lot of your purchases with mobile wallet, you get 4.5% on those, and 1.5% elsewhere. Maybe not as good if you don't travel, but the same could be said of the Gold. Though I am curious how the math would work out for an average person, whether one of the 3% on multiple categories would be a 2% on everything if all they wanted was one card.

Another thing to consider for a single do it all card are the extra benefits besides just the cashback/points categories. Namely purchase protection and extended warranty which is mostly going to limit you chase or amex annual fee cards. But those are very powerful benefits, especially if youre using that card for all your purchases, big and small.
And also im shocked! i think this is the first one of these types of lists i didnt see the citi custom cash or double cash at least get an honorable mention. Maybe people are getting tired of hearing about those? 😂 i know the custom cash most people only regard as a good supplemental card for one category use only. But if most of your daily purchases fall in the available categories and you arent a big spender, you can pretty easily average over 2% back across all your purchases with that one.
