the intro was so cool and I know it's probably stressful to hear differing opinions but I love your vlogs! feels like a facetime call and similarly to deciding not to take the job, please don't put too much pressure on making these vlogs "good." my favorite thing about them is that they are real, simple, and comfortable.

Shelby, when you talked about the job you were thinking of adding to your busy life. The first thing I thought was, "I hope you don't take it" for the same reasons you stated. I really enjoy your videos and I love that you are doing so much when it comes to doing your tennis! Truthfully, it is your life and if you can get flow then you are doing something right for yourself!

I think it’s really cool & admirable that you’re open to viewing different perspectives. I consider myself a student of life, someone who likes to continue to grow. & that’s what I like about the vlogs & main channel. Your videos have continued to grow and evolve just like this new style of editing in this video.
This vlog felt more personable & relatable. The balance between downtime, thoughts & opinions VS filming lifestyle activities. It’s a transition into commentary type of style of videos that makes sense. The clean audio & creative b-roll is by far my favorite and inspiration💯 your taste for creativity doesn’t go unnoticed ! 😊

Not really effective for the advertiser since she doesn't talk about it or address it at all. I tend to put vlogs on in the background to listen so I didn't see anything.
I don’t know. I kind of stopped watching when she started doing this. partly because I was suffering from 2nd hand embarrassment when someone was walking in the room and see that.. I don’t know why it’s just lame
@@sabc42 You would’ve HATED MTV’s Pop Up Video lol. well even RUclips has silent banner ad options 🤷♂️. From what I’ve seen of Shelby (3yrs prob) my first hunch is simply it’s a company she doesn’t use or endorse but her screen is valuable.
I love how much effort you put into the new vlog and all the creative camera angles and shots you got! It makes a big difference and you can really feel that :)
The Comment’s Section is my favorite RUclips channel, but I don’t think you need to compare yours to hers. They’re wildly different. I think day in the life channels are also really nice to watch.

i think your videos are great! most peoples' everyday lives are mundane and that is fine. that's actually why i find them comforting and easy to watch. you're not doing anything crazy or out of reach, but still creative and fun!
It’s actually wonderful to hear that you like watching Brett’s videos. I am a big fan of Brett, you could definitely learn a thing or two from her but keep in mind she works for a company that is producing these videos.

I just starting following her and find her interesting and her views don’t necessarily align with mine either but for some of the videos, she is spot on on some stuff. You two are 2 totally different people so it’s not comparing apples to apples.

If your ideologies aren’t fixed yet her arguments can be extremely persuasive, but if you stand firm in other beliefs like Shelby does, it’s an excellent way to gain empathy and understanding for your right winged counterparts. Learning how to critically think and see situations from different perspectives is becoming crucial and is the only way our world will ever be able to change. I don’t always agree with Brett, but hearing someone’s reasoning is the only way to make progress.

The thing is if you get a full time job you have an employer and can't just travel whenever you want anymore. Whereas now you are your own boss and make your own schedule and decisions!

You are completely right about that job being a fast track to burnout. I had a job making social content for an ad agency. I quickly came to despise the thought of being creative or touching a camera outside of work. And being creative in that job became synonymous with encouraging overconsumption which really did not sit well with me. I now mostly do *non-creative* work to pay the bills when I need to, and only take video projects that excite me and match my values.
The camera and angles made this video more dynamic. Well done. I love watching your vlogs!

I truly love the routine vlogs, I watch them for motivation to get up early lol and good work ethic! Only chiming in to say this because I know a creative edit can take more time/effort and often ppl watch vlogs in the background, and what makes it interesting to me is the stuff you share about your projects etc. not the camera angles! Will watch them either way ofc :)

I can relate. When I a write book, I try not to tell a story that's similar to my other book. If you read a lot of books and watch a lot of movies, the stories are similar just different names and location. Not too original. How you try to stay fresh and not be too repetitive?

Cool process and growth opportunity. As a long time viewer I was starting to wonder about the content repetition of your vlogs. You hit on something in this video that made me think of « character development », and I realized I wasn’t seeing enough of it in you and your stories. It’s fun watching the creative process move things forward. There’s a group called Muse Storytelling, a method for videographers. My only link is that my partner uses it and its elevated his product.
