Caught some brownies on a bouncing caddis last season here in Slovakia, but never figured it as a technique (since it accidently happened when lifting the line to keep the nimph from hitting bottom :-)). Can't wait to repeat now when the caddis hatch. Keep up the good work, very motivational!

@@GilbertRowley I've found it hard to get close enough to do it in many cases. I've found a lot of success with long casts and skittering the fly across flats and riffles.

we don’t actually mention location on social media, but I assure you I’ve fished this technique on many different river systems and it works. Give it a shot on your local river and see if it works. Best of luck!
Not necessarily, all depends on what the trout are keying on. The good thing is that when they want it dead drifted you can do this with this same setup 👍
Great question, I use a head mount since my chest pack is an essential piece of gear for me. A chest mount would be WAY easier to use and I may try to find a way to change this a bit in the future, but for now it's a head mount.
Usually a 2.8mm Tungsten bead, or if I have a very buoyant dry fly you can get away with a 3.3mm tungsten bead. Anything heavy will water log your dry fly too much.
Personally I’ve only ever used this on rivers, but as long as you can stay close enough to the fish without spooking them then it should work there as well.
@GilbertRowley that could be a fun thing to try in still water, hopefully will have a chance this summer to try. Seeing all these fish caught with this method makes me what to use it all the time!

Absolutely, just lengthen out the butt section a few extra feet and the same leader will work.
