Genuinely one of my favorite voice actors, many of his characters have some of the best voices of all time
I did see some of those old spaghetti westerns with Lee Van Cleef and I can really see the influence in the look and manner of Bane. I couldn't quite hear Peter Lorre in Bane's voice until Cory Burton separated out the two parts, Lorre and Henriksen and then put them back together. Then I totally heard it. Genius of Burton to be able to do that too.
Very interesting story from Corey Burton himself, and I was surprised that originally Cad Bane was set to be voiced by Lance Henriksen before George Lucas that despite giving of a cold and menacing performance he wasn't "weird enough" before Corey Burton was brought on.

Had no idea Lance crossed with Lorre was Lucas’s idea!! I thought it was Corey’s from the start. Genius direction on Lucas, he understood how Corey’s voice worked as well and he nailed the choice.

I noticed that they toned down the “Peter lorre” accent for the live action. I thought it made him sound more menacing!
I really liked the accent he put on for Cad Bane. With the sound design of the voice on top it sounded truly compelling imo.

Lance, truthfully, would have made Cad Bane downright TERRIFYING and utterly dominant and authoritative the way Earl Jones made Vader the same sort iconography.
Maybe..but Corey has done a phenomenal job with the character and has made him iconic in his own right. I mean, listen to him in Book Of Boba Fett! He did a phenomenal job of making Cad sound older and more terrifying!! Some of his finest work as the character

Cad Bane on Boba Fett sounds exactly like a great Clint Eastwood impersonation. One of the best I've ever heard. Just more sinister. Anyone that hears it will immediately think Clint Eastwood. Sadly, all those other names were probably thrown into the pot just to avoid having to pay Clint for his likeness.
