When this innocent, loyal youngling’s character got murdered by Anakin, I wasn’t the only person in the theater who was totally shocked & appalled!! Everyone, including my big, jock buddies & I, were crying & sobbing our hearts out, at this shocking twist!! At that moment in time, my blood burned with rage & hatred at Palpatine!! He was a master manipulator of the highest order, & he twisted Anakin’d soul & faith. I personally wanted to physically rip Palpatine limb from limb. First, rip his arms off; then his legs. Then, begin clubbing his bloody face & body with them. Then, basically fry his sorry fat ass to complete ashes, never to return. I’d take immense pleasure & satisfaction in killing him & erasing his spirit from all existence. His character needed to die.
In the Star Wars universe role playing campaign one of my friends is running us through, I got to the Jedi Temple an hour before Anakin. My friend had helped my character become more powerful than Anakin. Once he got to the Temple, I used Force Cleanse on his spirit, turning him back to good. My party & I saved the younglings. Then, we all immediately ran to Palpatine’s office; we all used our Force abilities on him to utterly obliterate him, body & soul, completely out of existence, before he executed Order 66. Anakin became a Jedi Master; he & Padme, & their kids lived happily ever after. This storyline kind of soothed my soul

@A Zee maybe!
@A Zee the anaking padme scenes where horrible, but it fits more to his character. Its more logical that he has no idea how to flirt.
@@grienardus12 they aren't bad because he doesn't know how to flirt... like... dude... did you ever watch a drama? I mean the stuff women watch on a daily basis? They have literally a stereotype of a man who is clumsy at flirting. That shit is seen as cute as long as he is confident in all the other stuff he does. And that is the type Lucas was going for. Someone who wants to prove himself so badly, he will do everything for it and face every possible danger but confronted by a women he truly values, he looses all of his confidence. it's not a bad idea.
the problem is... george lucas is extremely overhyped when it comes to dialogs and characters, and the type of character he tried to pull off is more than just a typical hero stereotype. he overestimated the difficultly. didn't took help. and got what he sow.
basically the scenes are bad because the acting is unbelievable and it is unbelievable because the writing lacks quality. The worst mistake george lucas made was to think he can make this work with a minimum amount of character building. he focused even less on anakin than he did on luke and anakin is the far harder nut to crack. the first 3 movies worked well because they focused on the hero journey mainly from lukes perspektive. but the "prequel" was about the whole galaxy, many perspectives and child-anakin, teenage-anakin and sith-anakin. Just to show a transition from one anakin to another, the character would have needed much more time and attention to pull off a believable performance. wooden dialogs and fireworks in space will not do the job.
Why you crying like the prequels aren't pure gold
Imagine if it had gone "Master Skywalker, there are too many of us, what are you going to do" and all the younglings just swarmed anakin

After all the stories I've heard from the OT fast, I'm sure it's common during the productions of a Lucas film. Many of the big little things are a result of one or more of the cast taking their own direction, as Lucas is not an "actor's director". He is a visionary, and a creator of spectacle, but it seems like he just is unable to communicate that to his casts
@@nicholashodges201
Yeah, if visions and overarching plot lines are what he's good at, but filling in the little things and filling in plot holes between different storylines isn't his strong suit... which is fine, as long as this is acknowledged and addressed
@@thalmoragent9344 Lucas isn't (IMO) a good director. Most of the original trilogy wasn't even directed by him. He is a great writer though.
@@thalmoragent9344 his 2 big issues are that he can't stop adding things/ can't cut stuff and he's not able to tell his actors what he wants. To my knowledge it only gets worse as time goes on. That was the best acting I’ve ever seen from a kid. You felt his fear and bravery simultaneously. Hayden needs to be a director too if he can get such a moving performance out of a child.
True !
I honestly think the youngling scene was brilliant. If that hadn't been put in there, people would have looked at the scene from AOTC, where Yoda trains the younglings and think, "Oh, maybe they survived, maybe the clones spared them, maybe the Jedi got them out." But no, we see how devastating Order 66 was; the majority of the Jedi Order died, a good portion of it by Vader's hand. And it really bolsters Vader's character because we already know that he is such a great villain and he's done some terrible deeds. But no one ever imagined him killing children with his own hands because we never see him do such a thing in the original trilogy. But at the same time it shows how desperate he was to save Padme and his own child. It makes you ponder that if you knew your loved one was dying, what would you do in order to save them?
I agree - it was a very powerful and important scene. Thanks for watching.

Ross mentioned the child acting agency for The Golden Compass. I worked as an extra on the Golden Compass and was involved in a big battle scene on a snow set at Shepperton. We were rescuing a lot of children from the bad guys, so there was a lot of children on set. It was a crazy month or so. So, now I'm curious if Ross worked there at that time.
Ah nice, I bet that really was a crazy month! I don’t think Ross worked on it but you might have crossed paths with his Mum’s friend at least! Small world...
That sounds awesome!
That little awkward child that reacted to the lightsaber being ignited really sold the seriousness of the whole Sith take over.
