I think one of the reasons Adam takes such pride in the exterminations is because they're the only thing left that gives him a purpose, something to do to make him feel accomplished. When he says what got him to heaven, he's noticeably unsure, looking to Sera for reassurance. So, it's almost like he's trying to earn his keep. But when his literal mask breaks and all he has left to do is yell his own praise, everyone looks at him with unamused expressions. I think at that moment, Adam was the one true hazbin.

I can imagine that eternal peace could be enough to drive some people totally nuts. In this case, I think that's partly what has happened with Adam. He's been lauded as The Best and The First Man for thousands of years, in a sounding board room, with pretty much nothing to look forward to other than exterminations. He's literally bored out of his mind.
I always hate when we have super old characters (Adam is AT LEAST 4000 years old) and people assume they were the same throughout their entire life. Were you the same person 5 years ago as you are now? No. people grow and change. I mean if he have Pentious or other sinners changing FOR THE BETTER after they died, why can't we accept the idea of the opposite happening? I believe he really DID deserve to go to heaven when he first died. But he changed. He got bitter, spoiled and lonely. All he had to anchor himself was his reputation as "the first man" so he doubled down. He was twisted by the weird sense of justice heaven has, and people are ignoring how he was not the one who ordered exterminations. Sera did. She was orchestrating it all with white gloves on, keeping her hands clean, sending her favourite pet project to do the dirty work.
Adam had no childhood, no parents, no way or time to mature over. He was made as an adult with predestined features and his entire existance planned. He lacked controll in everything that ever happened to him. So as an exorcissts leader, he takes control to the extreme - he controlls who lives and who dies. But he still has no power over his own fate. He is still alone, he is still just a human beeing.
I wonder if him always wearing a mask has something to do with how human he looks. He is the most human looking character in all hellaverse (outside of the living humans on earth). Maybe he hates it? While everyone around him has more divine or demonic apperance he is still "just a man". That what his name is anyway, its a translation of a name of a species, of homo sapiens sapiens. He had no identity of his own. "The first man" was the only thing he could lanch on to. For the angels it was important "what" he was not "who". He was a failed experiment. Made not born. A gloryfied sperm donor.
I would really like for hazbin to touch upon Cain and Abel, because that even might've shape his distain towards sinners (loosing both of his kids in the same event, just in two different ways - one to death, the other to hell) and frustration. Not to mention guilt. If he ate the apple in the hellaverse as well he migth feel guilty deep down and extermination is his way of "fixing" it. We don't know how he was treated when alive, we don't know how he was with Sera when exterminations were established and who was convincing who.
The only indications about what he COULD be like in the past we have are not really a reliable source - his ex wife's story she wrote for her own daughther? Really? Are we suppose to think it was not bias? Pleeeeaaaase...
I also think that Lucifer saying he got with Eve is something the fandom looks too deep into and wrongfully takes it as a fact. I always interpreted it only as Lucifer taunting Adam and the fact he's alone. Not that it actually happened, an equivalent of "yo mama" joke. I mean Lucifer seems like a faithfull husband, still wearing his wedding ring... we don't know what's up with their twisted family relations but I doubt he was serious about that comment.
Anyway I would LOVE to get more of Adam, he has the most potential, next to Alastor for depth. But then again... this is hellaverse, and I don't keep my hopes up for excellent writing and everything we see might be just accidental hints at something deeper that's not actually there... sadly. They couldn't even write Vaggie as anything more than "Charlie's girlfriend" and she's suppose to be one of the main protagonists, so I doubt Adam was in the eyes of writers anything more than a joke about a mysiginist.
Tho the smile he gives Lute makes me wonder (it's what made me wonder in the first place, what made me like him and try to understand, look deeper nto him). Was he just glad there was someone there for him? Or did he see her distress and just tried to give her a reassurence as "it's fine, dangertits, it's gonna be okay, don't cry..."? With all the daddy issues this show has, ignoring the fact Adam was DESIGNED to be first and foremost A FATHER also hurts me. So I cry agans: gimme Cain and Abel! Gimme parental grief angst! Gimme feeeeels!

Plus we need to note that Lilith and Adam were supposed to be pure and innocent. Even in the Hellaverse since in thec story of Hell it says that sin and evil got their way on earth because Eve ate the apple. People keep saying that Adam was controlling and abusive towards Lilith but bad and evil didn't even exist at that time

Something I’d think would be cool:
If, and big if, Adam comes back as a sinner, he’s a lot quieter, and more insecure
He’s like a rockstar, and a rockstar that gets too big a head; will fall and be humbled
So a Sinner Adam, would follow a similar pattern
It’s 50/50 and I’m not sure if it would be a good idea to cram it into season 2, but it could work and I’m hoping for it. It could really challenge the characters. For Charlie, she’d be faced with the dilemma of accepting the leader of the Exorcists and murderer of Pentious into her hotel. While Adam, who said “hell is forever” would be forced to question his own logic for the sake of his salvation.

I said this in a reply, but I wanted to make this a primary comment too.
If we take into account that Humanity exists despite Eve being led astray, then that means that the Antediluvian Times happened, and ALL of Human History, which Adam likely bore witness to. Which explains why he's so staunchly against the idea of redemption, because he's seen what his descendants have gotten up to in his absence. It's horrified him.
Could you imagine being Adam, and learning about the Antediluvian Times as they happened? It was deemed so obscenely horrid that He brought a Flood upon the Earth, and reset Humanity.
Like, it went from Cain murdering his brother to Daemonculabas everywhere, just without all the weird technology stuff the Dark Mechanicum got up to. (I highly recommend listening to Luetin09's video on that, it is horrifically graphic in the way it's described in the book.)
Things got out of hand so incredibly quickly, and he likely witnessed this up in Heaven. His sons and daughters slaughtering each other and being raised like cattle to be tortured by demons, and sometimes other humans. The invention of slavery, the wars waged in Heaven and on Earth. The Dark Ages. Everything after the Dark Ages. Russian History. Roman History. English History. *Chinese History.*
Could you imagine seeing all of that, and knowing that these are your spawn. All of the people you see suffering, and behaving like depraved animals are related to you. How would you handle that revelation? That this is what your children are.
And not only that, but you also have to deal with this crushing reality ALONE, because your wife, the one you loved enough to leave Paradise for, is not there.
Thousands of years of depravity and cruelty. No wonder he's so vicious.
And not only that, but the idea is also being proposed by the child of the two people who can reasonably be blamed for EVERYTHING wrong with the world, who ruined his life, and brought Sin to his children's hearts.
NOTE: I always imagined Adam's voice to be like Michael Keaton's Beetlejuice, the musical one. This is not relevant to the plot in anyway, but I feel like that fit his design more than Blitzo after his balls dropped.

Okay, sure. But this is still taking Biblical characters, and lore. So, until it's blatantly stated that the Flood did not happen, it's safe to assume that Genesis still happened, in some way.
Perhaps since we don’t know the full lore, but the Big G and Prince of Heaven, who is Jesus considering that we’ve got Saint Peter (Best confirmation so far) exist. So, I’d say it’s probably 70-80% accurate to the biblical theology in some way.
Yeah despite being a hypocritical ass, I found his whole metal head/ skater boi persona funny af. It's the most hilarious take I've ever seen on a biblical character and it makes It hard to completely hate him😂

Eve was the only one to take a bite of the apple, thus she became Roo, aka the Root of Evil and the first sin. As for my theory about Adam, he's the only "Angel" with human ears, my theory is that Heaven(or Sera) knew that if Adam died a human death, he would end up in Hell and not Heaven and thus Sera brought up his soul and forced him to be an Angel, why else would he be the only one with human ears? Sera, Emily, Lucifer, Vaggie, Charlie, Lute, & St. Peter don't have human ears at all, and from the little we've seen of the Winners, neither do they. Maybe Sera commanded that Adam never remove his mask in Heaven because it would show the Winners and Angels that he wasn't a full angel like they are. After all even Lute goes around in public without her mask on but Adam doesn't. I also believe that since Adam never actually died as a human, that when Niffty killed him with Angelic Steel it didn't destroy his soul like it normally does with everything else and that Adam will be back in Hell as a Sinner.
this theory is perfect, it would make perfect sense if this was the case. then , is return in season 2 would be justificated. and knowing vivziepop, i think she will use this concept to revive him

I like to think that he's the way he is because after Lilith left him it hurt greatly as that would be the first time he ever felt pain but Eve help him, he must have left the garden as if he had stayed Heaven would have just made him a new wife after Eve is banished but Adam chose to stay with her and when he went to Heaven he lost Eve as she was sent to Hell (Maybe became Roo?) And he blames Lucifer and the reason why he agreed to a deal with Lilith was to take her away from him?
I like to think that Adam with Eve was nice to her but when he went to Heaven and waited for Eve for years.
But when she never arrived it broke him to septuple down thinking Eve left him for Lucifer like Lilith all this time.
That's why when Lucifer implied he banged Eve, it got an extra reaction from Adam.

Why would the King of Lies admit to his daughter, who seems to have genuine moral integrity, that he cucked the First Man *Twice?*
Lilith was bad enough, but Eve could be a matter of genuine malice, after Lucifer and Lilith were banished from the Garden.
Why would they come *back* to the Garden after being caught, if not to ruin Adam's life out of some twisted sense of fair's fair, when *he* did nothing worthy of what happened to him? They had what they wanted, which was eachother, but they proved to be inherently envious of the inhabitants of Eden, and so they destroyed it, just like everything else they touch.
Charlie likely grew up hearing nothing but Lucifer, and Lilith's side of the story, and the way the later episodes play out, it is very heavily implied if not outright stated that Lilith and Lucifer are not on speaking terms. Which is such a nice comeuppance for the Serpent, if she cheats *with* you, she'll cheat *on* you.
And since, Adam's dead, I'm expecting this to double down on justifying Lucifer's actions, further demonizing the First Man into satirical territory, and Charlie descending further into laughable ignorance about her family's history.

Adam hides it just as well as lucifer while lucifer is overly happy when talking to people who don’t know he’s depressed but everyone knows he’s depressed because no one who is really that happy is that over the top, Adam literally reeks of insecurity he believes he’s perfect yet he knows he really is not compared to literally anything other angel in heaven.
I doubt so much Adam's gone for good if he's basically a giant ?????? For the entire series. Like why even CREATE him in the first place if he was supposed to be so disposable?
I definitely think he'll be back at the end of season 2 and season 3 he's struggling to go home while the hotel treats him like garbage outside of Charlie trying to reach him.
We have his backstory, he served his purpose as a villain, If he came back it needs to make sense
@@Eric6761 The only way he could be useful is either Roo's puppet or as a sinner who can point out the difference between Lilith and Eve in disguise ( since it seems only him, Lucifer and Charlie have met both but Charlie likely can't fully remember both and Lucifer's memories are blocked by grief, depression, workload, their loss and time.)

I saw an comment on a video once that actually makes sense: "Adam was the first man, how could he ever grow and be better if he didn't had an standard to follow?" And i honestly agree to this quote in some level, it's impressive because there's no standards in the beginning of time and i honestly have a theory: What If Adam was only brought to Heaven by technicality? Think about it, Adam has no virtue whatsoever, he's loud, obnoxious, overindulged, greedy and loves to kill like almost as much as exterminators and even the list he does to what gets people in Heaven he is shown to not follow and even he doesn't have idea of what gets people into heaven, so much he even asks for confirmation from Sera with a worried face, it's almost like he doesn't even know why he's there and you would think THE FIRST MAN, likely one of the earliest souls on Heaven would know the criteria to what gets someone on Heaven and my theory is that the Angels or God or just Sera (probably all the above) brought Adam to heaven because no one else was a suitable candidate as far as we know, Eve and Lilith were in hell making him the "least bad" character to ascend and be a star in Heaven since it's implied Adam has influence and only responds to Sera begrudgingly

And a proof that he cared to much about her
Because if he never eated the fruit he could had stayed in eden
But he chosed eve
But she became a evil container and after the death of abel and eve abandoning him
Adam lived 9 centuries
Watching the worst of humanity
And he got into heaven just to keep being alone
Exterminations are not only a enterteinment
They are a revenge
Against lucifer
And after losing everything he cared about
He was taken away from someone that cared about him

@@mirensierraaguirre5193 Maybe the Lilith in Heaven isn't the real Lilith but Eve disguised as her, we don't see Lilith wearing her signature pearl necklace that she wears in every single portrait of her, not to mention when we do see her in Lucifer's flashback as she's taking Charlie away, her hair is shaped differently and her smile on her card is extremely similar to Eve's smile in episode 1's opening. I think either Lilith or Eve as Lilith is the owner of Alastor's soul and gave him the power to take down other Overlords and gave him the orders to broadcast their screams across all of Hell to instill fear and hopelessness in the Sinners to discourage them from raising up against Heaven as part of her deal with Adam or Sera to get into Heaven.

At first I thought the reason he wore a mask was because he was scarred in an extermination and his huge ego couldn’t handle it, so he made a new face for himself with the mask but then I saw how he’s actually pretty decent looking under it and that idea just got thrown in the trash
This is honestky why I love guitarspear so much I just want to see Adam find love again since he lost both of his wives and one of his children (can't picture him as a dad btw) killed the other
If we will get flashbacks from Eden Garden I just hope the show won't make Adam being a jerk from the beginning just for laughs. It would be great to see which person he was and how he ended up like this. I don't expect pure and poor man who was tricked by evil woman and an angel but I am sure he was better because he was created by angels themselves

Welp, even tho i do agree with the option that Adam may enjoy himself a lot in Hell, since the rules are basically almost nonexistent there, I sorta think that he may actually be at his lowest when he turns into a sinner
Like, think about it, Adam has convinced himself that he’s never done a mistake in his entire life, that sinners are just absolute scum, that HELL IS FOREVER >:)))))
If he sees that he himself, has turned into a sinner, I kinda feel like not only will he feel like his narcissistic beliefs are crushed to pieces, bc now he’s one of the very things he hates most, but also get some form of PTSD (since yk, from when he fell from Eden to Earth), feeling like he lost Heaven just like how he lost Eden, and he wouldn’t even be able to understand why he’s fallen, since in his mind, he thinks he’s done everything what Heaven wanted him to do
And pretty much the worst thing of all, he’ll pretty much have to deal with the fact that if Lute sees that he’s become a sinner (the thing she also hates most), she’ll prob kill him and abandon him like both of his wives - and since he gave her that warm smile, it’ll hurt him even more
Basically living his own nightmare of fears when he realizes he’s become a sinner, just like the others
Tho this is just my opinion, him not giving a shit and living the life in Hell could very well also be an option XDD (i want angst)
He is such a tool its why he’s fantastic as a villain.
I liked the video and had ribs in his honor, seeing as I miss him a lot. But just couldn’t bring myself to hate him.

I thought the whole Extermination day thing was kinda of final fuck you to the people who basically ruined his life when he was in Eden. A never ending temper tantrum of him getting back at his ex and her new lover.
That is one way to look at it and there may be some truth to that.
(Not entirely related to Adam, but i thought this would be something important to think about)
The one thing that always bothered me about the show was the fact that Sera said he was the "First HUMAN soul in heaven." Which could just be my religious ass expecting too much, but it might play out in the show. It's obvious that Adam had kids whom he took care of in the Garden; humanity wouldn't exist if not. My theory is: one, Abel was a fraud and pretty much turned out like Charlie from Charlie's Inferno by The Handsome Devil, and Adam might have killed him and Cain. Two, Adam died before Abel somehow (less likely, but it's possible), and Abel stays away from him bc he's a piece of shit. Or three, Cain and Abel are *somewhere* (heaven, hell/limbo, etc), but are hiding from him. Ik its more about whether or not his two sons exist, but it could also be something to think about since there could've been a time where he (tried to) killed Cain for murdering his favorite son or for fun, or perhaps they both avoid him (Adam being a shit father to Cain, and being an ass leading to Abel avoiding him).

Adam is a very good antagonist and his song hell is forever is straight up fire. Villains always have the best songs. Really wish Adam had more screen time. Also if you like Hazbin, I would highly recommend the show The Good Place. It is fantastic. It is basically Hazbin except live action, not a musical and without any of Hazbins many writing problems

Despite the great analysis, I noticed you left out is childish beheaviour, both in and outside the battlefield, and just ad submissive towards authority as it is respectless of those below him. I think his narcissism could easily be, just as you hinted, a byproduct of how the angels "reared him up" in the first place, and there was no way he could became a mature and fully functional adult after being forced to built a relationship with the only other human being on Earth and without being instructed on the proper way to do so. Adam and Lilith were literally two guinea pigs that were supposed to fuck, and I'll be surprised if she didn't turned out as bad as him, only without all the insecurities. And I wouldn't be surprised either if the not so clear bond he had with Lute was also intended to suggest that he wasn't the control freak and pussy banger he continuously tries to appear. And this in spite of never having learned how to built a fruitful relationship with anyone, which eventually must have turned him in an insufferable sadistic jerk craving for attention. Could be that only Lute saw this, behind the insults he spit even at her, being herself a creation intended for a specific purpose which doesn't exactly turns you in the better version of yourself. She could have understood Adam was just another soul forced into the bad guy position and decided to fully embrace it at his side, as what is shown at the end on from her side seems something more than just zealotry or idolatry.
Working on a part two to this that will be going over the prologue and the Garden as well how those connect to the personalities of him, and his wives.
I think "most vicious overlord this side of the pentagram" could be a joke, because each side (except the Vees) is run by one overlord, so regardless of how powerful or vicious she really is, she is by default the most vicious on her side.

Another video idea: Why do some demons have that red (some may have different colored) lines (or saliva) from their mouths? Very noticeable on Vox whenever he seems to be angered.

Um. Adam was the one who suggested extermination, Sera just agreed to it. That's the easiest explanation on why he's the one leading it.

Adam would’ve been so much smarter if he just ate the damn apple, but eve did and Adam became very…pissy as alastor would put it. Basically if he ate the apple which he would be punished for cause that would spread evil, he’d at least get a conscious and a basic understanding of how no one is perfect and respect of everything and everyone.
Plus when I heard how much hate he had for women, it was kinda obvious where it stems from because he was the first person to get cheated on not once but twice with the same guy, and those two women happened to be the only women in the entire planet.
However lute got a free pass cause she was there for his entire time at heaven, she endured his ego and ridiculous stunts but she just dealt with it.
Oh and I just wanna make a quick side note that Lucifer and Adam will pretty much be enemies for the entire season, Lucifer would find out how much Charlie had to endure in her meeting with Adam not to mention he was beating up his daughter and her friends, and Lucifer literally took both his wives/literal soulmates while his idea caused evil to spread in earth therefore Hell is born. I’m not saying this cause the ships of him and Lucifer are bad (you ship whoever with whoever idc) but Lucifer and Adam will probably never get along anymore
Oh and if humanity came from Adam’s nuts, then Adam came from Gods nuts!

While this video has indeed slightly softened my view on Adam, I am still glad he got stabbed in the back roughly 14 times (yes I counted) for whatever reason I have no idea why.
But I will admit it's gonna take quite a lot of effort from God himself to make me see Sera as somebody else other than Roo in disguise because if this theory is true than she did absolutely nothing to help Adam recover from his pain, she's the biggest hypocrite in Heaven, she's completely ignoring the fact that she's causing untold terror in Hell on the possibly less evil sinners (those who's crimes that got them sent down there was either one bad decision or another sinner having an axe to grind against them) while the ones who absolutely deserve to be killed like Vox and the rest all simply hide in their little bunker houses, and in the untold amount of years The Exterminations have been happening she never *ONCE* bothered to see if redemption was indeed possible until it was shoved in her face in the most satisfying way possible. I know countless people suspect that Emily will become a fallen angle, but if she does than there truly is no God in the Hellaverse; I'm legitimately willing to sacrifice some human food too whatever god is up there to have Sera be the one who falls because that's how much I *HATE* that hypocrite.
as i understand christains are ofton talking about the "first adam" who is an asshole (and assume HH adam is asshole as he is first adam) and the last adam is good adam, altho no word on the adams inbetween the first and last. i assume thats just all humanity tho.
Ummm no. As someone who’s Catholic, and has read the Bible, to me Adam is just there. He is the first man, he along with Eve ate the forbidden fruit and is the reason why us humans suffer and aren’t living in paradise. Adam is an asshole in Jewish mythology where Lilith was his first wife. That’s where Hazbin got the inspiration.

When Adam and Eve got kicked out of Eden he would have worked hard to provide for his family in a new environment/ wasteland. Something people wouldn’t see HH Adam doing. And because Adam and Eve were the first two humans Adam would have helped Eve during labor. Bible Adam would have been nicer. Jewish mythology Adam probably unless he later redeemed himself. 🤷♀️

At first I thought the reason he wore a mask was because he was scarred in an extermination and his huge ego couldn’t handle it, so he made a new face for himself with the mask but then I saw how he’s actually pretty decent looking under it and that idea just got thrown in the trash
