- The level takes place in Kowloon City, Hong Kong. It involves torturing Dr. Daniel Clarke, a prisoner as well as scientist in the Nova 6 project, as Hudson along with Grigori Weaver, this is something the player does himself with context-sensitive commands. When torturing Daniel Clarke, the player will smash a glass window, place a shard from it in the mouth of Daniel Clarke, and proceed to punch his jaw twice.
After the torture scene, the Spetsnaz discover their positions and the player will have to escape the area through apartment buildings and across rooftops. One part in the mission, the protagonists come across a weapons cache behind a fridge after Weaver and Clarke push it out of the way.
As they fight through the rooftops, the player continues to interrogate Clarke. As they attempt a large jump, Clarke begins to slip and is saved by the player. Hudson asks about the "numbers" and Clarke begins to explain but is shot in the head. Hudson lets Clarke's corpse fall into the Kowloon street. Hudson falls through one of the canopies, with enemies closing in on his position. Friendly agents then arrive in a van and kill the enemies, allowing Weaver and Hudson a quick getaway. As the two get in, Hudson informs the driver of the information that he managed to get from Clarke.

Everyone likes No Russian or All Ghillied Up as their favorite CoD mission but this one is super underrated. Such a unique setting and design that hasn't really been replicated in a call of duty game since.

This mission overall was so epic , the build up of the music, fighting through countless foot soldiers in Kowloon and the rain is the finishing touch most of all.
Probably one of the most fun missions in the game. They did an amazing job with the atmosphere even people remember it clearly 10+ years later 😂
Such a well designed level, when you get to the roof and you see the plane fly over🤩

@@asdlom yea, it was Kowloon Walled City (a park has been made in the exact same location called kowloon city walled park)
The real Kowloon Walled City was also more cramped and claustrophobic. Passageways were on average 3 to 4 feet wide.The level makes it feel luxurious in comparison. The 747 flying close to the rooftop was accurate though, since it was dangerously tall and close on the landing approach to Kai Tak Airport's runway.
@@cgRui34 lol same thing was said about the rat tunnel mission. The real rat tunnels American troops had to deal with were way more cramped apparently.
@@AQUAPHREESH193 Yes. I've visited some of the Cu Chi rat tunnels in Vietnam and they're horrifically claustrophobic. And apparently those have already been widened up for tourists.
I'm a 5'10" tall, 220lbs dude and I basically plug up the tunnel if I crouch walk on my knees in the section they opened up for tourists. I can't even fit through the concealed trapdoor entrances since it's basically half my body width in diameter
only og people know how to get the thunder gun on this mission.

blow up all the nova 6 canisters then go to the right and grab the tape then when Clark let’s you into the armory insert the tape into the thing and the thunder gun appears

It always confused me how one moment we’re feeding Clarke glass, and the next he’s arming us out with whatever we want and shooting alongside us
makes you think what that nova 6 feels like
We torture Clarke for info, while they are trying to kill Clarke, we at least give him a chance to live

This mission showed me how Hudson was equally as badass as mason or woods when I was a kid
I like the original BO1 Hudson; I hate what they did to him in the later games.
@@mattwalters6834 not to *mention the missions where you played as him go hard, from rainy neon lights in Kowloon, to the heavy blizzards in yamantau, to the nova six plagued base in rebirth island.
Kick ass music during this mission. BLOPS 1 just has a fantastic OST.
itss crazy how they've always tied in real places, like they even had a plane flying right over top like how it really was when they flew into kai tak airport

This one of the most epic COD levels, The fast paced action and heavy metal riffs make this so badass.

Weird. There were no 74s flying in to Kai Tak until at least two years after this mission takes place.
This campaign is so anachronistic as hell, but 80s Kowloon is a cool setting

Nowadays I go straight to multi-player, but games like this back in the days I play the campaign because of action like this.
This mission is my absolute favourite. Man this gives me crazy flashbacks back in the day when i was younger. The music gives me goosebumps everytime im listening to it.

When you look at what they where able to do back in days and what they are doing rn, you realized they are just a lazy, and less creative.
Theres quite nothing like Kowloon City. Im so glad this game chose that city for at least one of their missions. Plus, with the actual history of Kowloon, it makes sense that Clarke would be there since it was a hotbed for criminals and runaways.

After playing this back in the day, was the sole reason I wanted to go to Hong Kong. The rest is history..
3:20 little details like these is why the older CoD were so full of life and fun to play.
That and Thunder gun easter egg. Pretty funny considering i think one of the directors got mad at one of the devs for including the Ray gun easter egg on WaW.
