The lock pins for the timing belt are really cheap. Dont mess with self made tools. You have to change a rubber belt (oil pump belt) if it full of oil. But then you have to dismantle the sump

You will regret not changing that oil pump belt. Literally another 20 minutes would have had the sump off and belt changed.

For the sake of demonstration yeah. He is clearly professional having the experience to confidently rely on his drawn matchmarks, drill bits and home made tools for this job. The proper lock tools aren't going to help you when you need to remove the crank gear to change the oil pump cover.
