    Good video, though I'm not sure I agree with the implication in your chart that higher frequencies afford lower latency. I mean they do, in so far as they provide greater capacity which decreases competing data and thus latency, but in terms of the RF wavelengths, they all travel at the speed of light. Lower and higher frequencies travel at the same rate, and thus have the same latency.

    Any chance you'll be updating this for current phones. I'm trying to setup a Signal Booster and trying to figure out which bands would give the best data speeds is confusing and unclear with my Galaxy S22Ultra and Hiboost 10k plus pro Booster.

    Is the Pixel 5 compatible accords the 3 different spectrum bands? It looks like it to me.

    • @DgtlInfra
      @DgtlInfra  3 года назад +1

      Yes, the Google Pixel 5 has support for low-, mid-, and high-band spectrum. Specifically, we have put the frequencies for mid- and high-band (i.e., the new bands) that the Google Pixel 5 has compatibility with below:
      -Mid-Band: C-band (3.3 GHz to 4.2 GHz), CBRS (3.55 GHz to 3.7 GHz)
      -High-Band: 26 GHz, 28 GHz, 39 GHz
      The Google Pixel 5 is quite comparable to the iPhone 12 in terms of spectrum support.
      Hope that helps.

    Yup and I'm acting like the low band is high band and it constantly disconnecting and throwing your phone signal disconnected connect it all over the place really really sucks. basically I'm just their guinea pig for 5G because they can get away with it because I have a prepaid.

    Does U.S Cellular have 5G ?

    • @DgtlInfra
      @DgtlInfra  3 года назад

      Yes, U.S. Cellular has 5G services in parts of Iowa, Maine, Maryland, North Carolina, Oregon, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
      Additionally, U.S. Cellular's 5G deployments use their 600 megahertz (low-band) spectrum initially

    In simple terms nationwide 5G isn't good for the two carriers from Verizon or At&t they both suck cause of DSS very inefficient it's basically band 5 (850) or band 13 (700) usually at 5-10 mhz wide mainly for coverage I guess but it isn't standalone plus since it's DSS it's basically sharing the bandwidth between the same band in LTE which makes it look slow in practice or real life unlike TMobile which is actually doing some big ball moves dedicated NR bands not half asses DSS so there's actual latency and speed improvements TMobile bands are N71, N41,N77, N25, and N260 I think maybe N2 soon but N25 is literally popping up in some places as SA which Verizon nor At&t do they only do NSA 5G which is pathetic compared to TMobile not really a fan boy or anything but it just shows that TMobile is killin it

    Sooo, how's it going US? Millimeterwaves damaging your skin and eyes yet? (asking for a friend) - seriously though, here in Switzerland they are only starting with 5G in 3,5 GHz band and below and are still waiting on millimeterwave research to come. So I'm curious...

    • @DgtlInfra
      @DgtlInfra  3 года назад

      Christopher - so far no skin and eye damage on this side of the Atlantic! At least for the people we know.
      You are correct, it looks like Switzerland has deployed the 3.4 GHz to 3.8 GHz mid-band spectrum. Additionally, the high-band / millimeter wave spectrum is scheduled to be auctioned in Switzerland in 2022, starting with the 26.5 GHz to 27.5 GHz frequencies. Also relating to your comment on millimeter wave, it has already been auctioned in Europe too - UK (24.25 GHz to 26.5 GHz), Italy (26.5 GHz to 27.5 GHz), and Germany (26 GHz).
      If you want more detail on where millimeter wave spectrum is specifically deployed in U.S. cities - then check out our latest video:

      @@saladbowl85 Sunrise and Swisscom
      have spoken about it publicly on conference calls, but we are not sure if an official source has posted it online. If you want a run-down of 5G spectrum in Europe from a government-backed agency, we recommend the following link, which has a category on Switzerland:
