    This was so heart breaking because nobody gave us a chance nobody believed in us Notre dame men's basketball rose back to the NCAA tournament and went to the elite 8 first time since 1979 I'm so proud of this team these boys gave me a season filled of memories that will last a lifetime they all became like brothers to me and I'm so proud of coach Brey losing his mother during the tournament and really made me proud to see him coach like his this entire year so guys hold your heads up we will be back next season I say thank you for making tnis year so special I love you guys and all I can say is thank you and good luck to Wisconsin Badgers lets beat those blue devils.

      My dad went to Notre Dame and I went to Arizona. We were begging for an Arizona Notre Dame final four. I think it would have been just as epic as this game was and I was flying up to Vegas where my folks live for the final four. This loss actually made me angrier than the Arizona loss since Dekker and Kaminsky were hitting lights out contested 3s and I sadly knew it was over.

  • @TheSportsman131
    @TheSportsman131 9 лет назад +52

    This was the most heartbreaking sports moment for me, because Notre Dame (as it always seems in big games across multiple sports) had a top team on the ropes before losing in the final seconds. This tournament run is really going to help Notre Dame, though, and hopefully they can achieve a bit more depth with successful recruiting. Certainly tough to replace Connaughton and Grant, but Mike Brey has always been able to find a way.
    I am so proud of you guys and what you were able to accomplish. There are no moral victories, but you guys put it all on the table. So don't hang your heads, hold em up high! GO IRISH!

      It hurt really bad for me too. I really wanted to see a Notre Dame Arizona final four so bad. My Dad is an ND alum and I'm an Arizona alum. Still a huge Irish fan, but that would have been one helluva game had they met in the final four.

    This was a good game and a great learning experience for Kentucky. This was the first time in several weeks they were pushed to the brink of defeat. They've got a week to work on the issues they had in this game and get prepared for the Final Four rematch with Wisconsin. It will be a dandy, that's for sure.

    Dont know why everyone is mad at grant when you have to remember he has been the leader of this team, he is the main reason for ND winning because he gets everyone open shots. I have no problem with jerian grant taking the last few shots and as a die hard ND i will truly miss him and pat connoughton next year. GO IRISH

I'll never forget being relieved that we won even tho a few of our guys just seemed to be off that night....but feeling so bad for Notre Dame because they played like a team that WANTED it. Good luck to them this coming year! Hope to meet you again on the court!

  • @taylorholmstrom248
    @taylorholmstrom248 8 лет назад +7

    People can complain about questionable calls all they want, but Notre Dame really shot themselves in the foot in the final two minutes. They had the ball with a two point lead, then with the score tied, and both times they just let the shot clock nearly run out before jacking up a three. Meanwhile, when Kentucky was down two, they worked the ball inside to Towns and he tied the game. Then Andrew Harrison drove the ball and drew contact to hit the winning free throws. I was rooting for ND, but UK had the smarter game plan in the final two minutes, thus the smarter team won.

    Notre dame to me had the most impressive performance in the tourney in 2015. To almost take out a team that was so much more talented and big was way too impressive. One of my all time favorite teams. They need to bring back the vault of the ncaa tournament and post this game because recently there have been some legendary games.

    I was at this game. In my life I have never experienced a live sporting event like this one. The feeling of getting that win after what was supposed to be a perfect season was incredible. I followed it up with a trip to Indy for the Final Four. As high as that win made me feel, the loss to Wisconsin was the exact opposite. I haven't watched Kentucky Basketball the same since. No two games will give me a high and low like those two did.

  • @masonwade5376
    @masonwade5376 7 лет назад +1

    3 missed 3 pointers by grant was the difference no doubt about it. Should've moved the ball around more and maybe should've got it to the rim for a contact foul, but apparently brey or grant thought otherwise. First three pointer by grant was clutch, and I CANNOT believe notre dame had the ball up by 2 with a minute and a half to go and could not score on THREE more chances. Kentucky was a tough team but the game was in note dames favor until grant missed his first of three three pointers with about a minute and a half. Tough game to swallow to this day for Irish fans.

    I hate how people say "we are going to be better than uk because of one and dones" . Last time I checked every one stayed from last years natl runner up team besides two. And this year I think only a few will leave as well, I'm think KAT and Willey Cauley and maybe trey. I don't think the twins will go quite yet just because I don't think they are nba ready, but I think next years team won't go undefeated but I think they will have a really good stable team next year too. I give a lot of credit to john caliparie working around all the great players he has.

    Had to be honest here. I had ND out by the first round on my bracket since I thought it was an easy 3-14 upset. Apparently I picked the wrong 3 seed since Baylor got beat by RH Hunter’s team. Still shocked tho they went all the way to the regional final and almost beat UK. Just imagine if that happened instead of Wisconsin ending that streak.....

    • @danielward8645
      @danielward8645 3 года назад

      it didn’t have anything to do with how good or bad wvu was. i mean this game isn’t an indicator. it was all psychological for that uk team at that point. they were mentally drained. they played like they did against wvu because of the trash talk by the wvu players leading up to that game. wvu got their attention is all. notre dame and wisconsin stayed mostly pretty quiet leading up to their games against kentucky. and i think kentucky let their guards down. i didn’t think uk played all that great in the tournament with the exception of the wvu. that was probably the best they played all season.
      i’m a uk fan and after the first game of the tournament i could tell we weren’t winning it. the killer instinct they had all season seemed to be gone and they looked like they just wanted it to be over. that’s the pressure of carrying an undefeated record that late in the season.

    This will be a classic College basketball game. I mean this was college basketball at it's finest. As a Kentucky fan, Notre Dame played great, and honestly were one point away several times throughout the game from finishing off Kentucky. Kentucky did what they had to do to win it at the end though.
    Say what you want about Kentucky, but they were not overrated. Duke and Wisconsin may have been underated, but Kentucky beat the ACC's best in this game. Duke lost to Notre Dame twice just as a reminder.

      I am a Kentucky fan, I just want to say that your team is going to be really good next year. Notre Dame was the only team in the Mid-West bracket that really scared me because of how fluid their offense was. Also Jerian Grant is a future pro, there is no doubt about that. The only thing I disagree with your comment is the "true team players", we have 6 players that came back from last year. 4 Sophomores and 2 Juniors (one did not play yesterday, he tore his ACL in practice in December), but these 6 players that came back wanted to win a Championship. So we had players come back to get better and to win this championship. But it was a great game, one to remember for sure.

      James Smith Very valid points, but with respect, I did not direct my comment to Kentucky, but yes I do agree. I respect those Kentucky players for coming back, but some big programs, like Duke, will be losing their big, literally big, freshmen like Jahlil Okafor.

      ROTMGdrose I got you bro, but yeah we are going to lose a lot of players this year to the draft. Like the Twins, Karl Anthony Towns, and Willie are the main people but Coach Cal will just reload again. It seams like where always known as the "One and Done" team but yeah Duke is recruiting these type of players, and Kansas did it last year with Wiggins and Embied. But it was a good game and Notre Dame is the only team that has treat us with some class this year in the tournament, I respect you and Notre dame as well. Call me a fan

    Should have went into overtime, you NEVER see a foul call that late in the game when it's tied.
    Rigged, you know they can't have their precious kentucky taken out before the final four. Too much betting money on Kentucky to go further.

    • @cmpunk2002

      So you're saying there should be no fouls at the end of the game clearly it was an illegal blocking foul no doubt notre dame played great but stop being butthurt accept it

      No it wasn't. Go look at it again. He had his feet planted before Harrison hit him with his shoulder.

    • @tom11zz884

      IWantMyVisionBack Notre Dame would have won had it gone to OT, which is why it was so important for Kentucky to win it in regulation.

    • @tom11zz884
      @tom11zz884 9 лет назад +5

      IWantMyVisionBack It wasn't a charge dude...clearly the other guy was sliding his feet, thus he wasn't fully set to take the charge.
      I know you are hurting, but lets be fair here, it was not a charging call. Notre Dame still had a chance to win and failed by missing the shot. Deal with it.

      You need to go see an eye doctor. His feet were on the floor both times. And are you going to ignore the fact that Harrison stepped on his feet?
      Both feet were on the ground when harrison stepped on his foot. Both feet were on the ground when harrison hit him with his shoulder.
      Big brother NCAA can't have Kentucky lose boo hoo. I don't care for either team.

    If I was the ref I would have let that Harrison block slide, 16 seconds left in the game ,the game deciding by free throws with 6 seconds left to go to the final four that was trash dude let the players play

    • @omnislasherfx
      @omnislasherfx 9 лет назад

      Daiyon Harden could have easily been an offensive foul on that last drive to the bucket by kentucky.. defender on notre dame had both feet planted outside the semi circle under the basket and cld legit draw a charge except it wasn't given..

    • @ndfaithfuls_son4032
      @ndfaithfuls_son4032 9 лет назад

      +omnislasherfx I agree more with Daiyon...I would have let it go altogether. The game is tied. Let the players decide it, not a couple of garbage free throws. This was for the Final Four.

    • @GreenDay1981
      @GreenDay1981 8 лет назад

      +omnislasherfx Not really. The ND defender did not have his feet set. Textbook blocking foul.

    • @ndfaithfuls_son4032

      GreenDay1981 Again, if im the ref, I don't decide the game like this. I let the players decide it. I would not call anything unless it was a clear hack going up to the rim.

    • @GreenDay1981
      @GreenDay1981 8 лет назад

      ndfaithful's_son That's why you're not a ref. It doesn't matter if there's 15 minutes or 15 seconds left in the game. Rules are rules and you call a foul when one is committed. It's not like ND didn't have a chance at the end. It was foolish of ND to even try drawing a charge in that situation.

    That drive by Harrison at the end...he should have been called for an offensive foul. Looks pretty clear to me that Jackson had position.

    • @TheWoodsworth
      @TheWoodsworth 9 лет назад +1

      He didn't have position. The block/charge call is one of the hardest to make in real time. The replay showed that the ref got it right. Jackson was set at first, but had to lean to make contact with Harrison.

    • @WAPJTODAY
      @WAPJTODAY 9 лет назад

      TheWoodsworth The commentator said :"you can tell by the direction in which Jackson fell he leaned the wrong way" but I just don't see it other than it was on a full on charge...kind of like Harrison caught him about 2/3 on but looks like his feet are planted

    • @uselessinformation3634

      WAPJ WEBBLOG every time you watch the replay, look at his feet when contacts made. The answer is clear then

      @ibleedpurple52 9 лет назад +1

      Drew Houchin his feet were planted yes before contact tho..But Harrison side stepped him than u see jackson move his feet and lean in to Harrison if you look at his left foot when the contact is made its not planted

      Don't blame the Refs dude. Yeah we get to see a play in 6 different angles also in slow motion, these Refs get one opportunity in full speed. They do the best that they can, and last night it was well officiated.

    • @atomsport

  • @isabellaoliveira3834
    @isabellaoliveira3834 9 лет назад

    i blame it on grant. He had a chance at the end but he got trapped. Also he kept shooting contested shots late in the game. He could have passed it to the guy aguste. Also they should've double teamed towns better. I also blame on officials. They didn't call some fouls that were clearly fouls. On the second to last play they should've called a charge or no call. The dude BARELY moved. The dude just elbowed him in the chest. It was also a huge travel. Look at the play. So Notre Dame sort of got robbed. It should've been an upset.

    Great game... but Kentucky better bring it against Wisconsin. If they want to move on to the final they better bring their A game. Wisconsin wins close games so if Kentucky allows Wisconsin to keep it close. Look for Kentucky to lose.

    • @GBeret83
      @GBeret83 9 лет назад

      Darryl Flinch , You act as if Kentucky doesn't know how to win close games also, like this one for example. Kentucky's had several close games this season and won them all. The same can't be said about Wisconsin.

    • @darrylflinch5274
      @darrylflinch5274 9 лет назад

      GBeret83 Oh no don't get me wrong. I know Kentucky has won close games because they have great players and an excellent coach.
      My point is that Wisconsin is nothing to take lightly because they do have experience and as well as a smart coach.
      Wisconsin knows how to pull away on close games as well.
      Kentucky needs to get a ten point lead in the first half. Wisconsin is a second half team and so this will give Kentucky room to keep Wisconsin from catching up.
      Anyways it won't surprise me if it comes down to the end or that their are HORRIBLE FOULS called throughout this game.
      As I am sure you already know. The big bucks is Kentucky and Duke... Not to say it's rigged but it's a little obvious who they want in the Final.
      Wisconsin will have to play a perfect game especially if the refs are not in their side.

      Jim Gorman Duke is trash and Okhafor is overrated. When they were getting their butts handed to them by Utah, the refs gave Utah's star point guard 3 fouls within 13 minutes of the first half. And even with him out, Utah was still holding their own.

      IWantMyVisionBack Ok, I understand your point but Those three fouls were not the determination of the game. It's not like he's Utah's only decent player. If that were so, Utah would not be in the sweet 16 and a five seed. I don't think it's fair to say Duke is trash because of that when they have been great all season. Just my opinion

    ND wins if the refs call a fair game and not allow Towns to throw his shoulder into any Irish player in his way to basket. If the refs called an offensive foul every time he did that and Towns would of fouled out 10 minutes into the game. I guess Ashley Judd blew the refs before (and after) the game. I guess that what she does these days since Hollywood no longer wants her.
