This wasn't in this video, but for anyone who has seen The Prince's Bride "Como desees" It a Spanish translation of a line from the movie, and I find it very romantic.

My Boricua (Puertorriqueña) started me off with "mi vida" one day over text. We weren't official yet, but I was Googling like crazy "HOW SERIOUS IS THIS???!!!" LOL 2 1/2 years later, we're still going strong, and we have graduated from "te quiero" to "te amor", and she is now mi prometida. Cultural latinas are the best!

At first I thought saying Te Amo was used exclusively in romantic situations as a Chicano because I'd only see it used that way in novelas and it was never used by my family to me but now I get it after watching and asking around. Alotta Latino families, especially in dad to son situations never even say te quiero. We have to seriously think really far back if it's even happened. And that doesn't help either.

Cariño = Dearling. Es para la pareja casi siempre. Aunque las personas mas "amorosas" lo usan con cualquier persona.

In Mexican dating culture before a girl lets a guy kiss him, does the girl want him to have asked her to be his girlfriend first? Has she not let me kiss her in the past and last weekend because first I have to ask her to be my girlfriend?

Extraño means strange or weird, but it’s also used to say I miss you. You can use “te extraño” o “te echo de menos” to say you miss someone
