- I visited Wrexham to see how the famous Hollywood takeover has effected the football club and the town.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over Wrexham AFC and have big plans for the club at the Racecourse Ground!

Just loving your videos mate love the way you give us information about the club's history you visit looking forward to all your future videos stay safe
Thanks Gareth. Got loads more similar videos planned!!!
@@FootyAdventures Merthyr town 5.
I remember going to Wrexham in the 90's with Walsall and some lads from the Wrexham fanzine were doing a bucket collection to help save the club. I gave them a couple of quid and we had a good football chat they were very grateful. Its incredible how times have changed. I hope those lads are still fans and enjoying the better times
That’s the true spirit of football mate, nice one .
I remember you Jon, thank you. Hope you’re doing good !
Thankyou for helping our club ... you should feel some pride at the rise the club will hopefully be on in the future
Brymbo Man for president!!! The people of Wrexham seem lovely too. Wonderful people from a wonderful place with a kick ass football club.
A club that kicked fcporto out of Europe, will always have my respect and admiration. Best of luck from a Benfica supporter!
Awesome to see you covering Welsh football! 🏴⚽️
Awesome showing Welsh football ⚽️ my great grandfather played for Wales in the 1930s Sydney Lawrence
Great little fact about the European history of Wrexham, never knew that! 👏
Swansea won trophies at the old Wembley (1994), millennium stadium (2006) & new Wembley (2013) including representing England and Wales in Europe which no other team from great Britain can claim
Up the town 🏴
Hey Groundhopper!!! Miss your content buddy
@@hughesy8411 thanks mate
Jack bastards
@@LiamRobertsWxm Go on Liam lad!!!
Was at Wrexham when they caused one of biggest FA Cup shocks beating my Team Arsenal. I'm so happy to see them on the up again and getting back to where they belong imo.
fantastic vid mate, been brought up as a wrexham fan by my dad and taid, and it's certainly not been easy watching in my lifespan, when my highlights of being a wrexham fan have been winning the fa trophy, whereas my dad has watched us play roma in the european cup in the 70s. rob and ryan have really been ffantastig since their take over and we really do look on the up. thanks for the video mate, was a great watch
I went to Wembley to watch wrexham great video again 🚜🚜🚜🔵⚪️
I’m a Wrexham fan and Everton , go Wrexham home and away , love the Welsh based content as I play in the Welsh pyramid , been watching for a while now keep the videos coming 👍
Did you ever hear of Jeremy Beadle watching Wrexham in the turf?
Another great video, I was hoping you would cover Wrexham. They famously beat Arsenal in an FA cup tie I think it was the eighties. Been there many times as a Blackpool fan. The England/Wales gave it an extra bit of banter. I hope they get back soon as they really are a sleeping giant. I am pleased you had a good time and checked the pubs out. It’s hard work I know but someone has to do it🤣
It was Wrexham 2-1 Arsenal on 4th January 1992 at The Racecourse.
Are we seeing the potential for a great underdog story?
I think so.
I'm from Denbigh I loved your pronunciation of Denbighshire. Don't forget Wrexham knocked out Porto in the European Cup Winners Cup
I laughed at that too😂😂 Den big shire 😜
Top class video mate and class show of such a great stadium, pub looks amazing too! Their fans have always been so passionate and loud when they've come down to crabble, bringing a few hundred all that way everytime consistently is something special! Not to mention the 6-5 at theirs last season, what a game that was 😦
My club are sadly in the National League along with wrexham (Chesterfield) and the Ryan Reynolds takeover has been a massive era for their club making them now bring highest attendance in the league, my club have been owned by our fans for years now and still await promotion.
I assure you that when I become rich and famous I will buy the club and put it on the map.
Always wondered when you’d get round to this club, nice one !
I had a girlfriend years ago from Mumbles, loved visiting there.
The Welsh accent is very melodic, love it.
What a beautiful country 😍😍
Used to collect cash before games to save the club a few years back.
I ended up moving to Aberdeen start of this year after being in Lincoln for 4 years and it's awesome to watch your vids!!
Some unbelievable footballing history at Wrexham. Porto, Arsenal, Anderlecht, the FA cup runs....
You should try organise a wee chat with Bootlegger, the guy used to go down the same pubs as me and my dad🤣
Love these vids mate - History and Footy combined - keep em coming!
I am a season ticket holder I have been going to watch Wrexham for 14 years ago and I was happy for the Hollywood take over it was nice that you did this video been a big fan of yours keep it up
I am heading to uk in December and was planning to visit Wrexham- I actually played there for Halifax in the 80s and have been following there success - thanks for sharing information about the Town accommodation in you’re Videos etc.
This is great content.
I plan a trip around the Uk visiting as many games , grounds, matches as possible in a 6 month period. Love your work and might see you on my travels. I won’t be blogging though just enjoying-
Keep up the fantastic work Sam. 👍
Wrexham will always hold a special place in my heart, it was where I met my girlfriend who is now the mother to my beautiful little boy Isaac.
I went to watch Wrexham play against Chester and battered them 3-0, the Racecourse has a phenomenal atmosphere!!
great little video thanks for visiting Wrecsam. Even though only a few miles away and a season ticket holder i really do need to visit the museum more. By the way , did Alun Jones say we were in the first division in 70s - maybe i misheard, as your graph showed in the 70s following promotion in 69-70 we were in Div3 with promotion to Div 2 (now Championship) in late 70s. Hopefully hopefully this IS our season to return to EFL, but we've had so many disappointments , until its confirmed we will be careful as others eg Notts Co are also looking good. Looking forward to watching your other videos , keep them coming .
Great video! Hope you come back to Wrexham and allowed access to the ground. Even better at a game! Work hopefully to start at the end of the season on a new 5500 capacity Kop stand. Derelict for 2 decades, it was the last biggest Kop end to remain open with safety/seating regulations.
Remember when Preston and Wrexham got promoted in 1979 they had a great attacking team. They did us a great favour drawing 0-0 with Peterbourgh in the final game meaning we got promoted to the old second division. It gets better…. Blackpool we’re relegated .we stopped divisions. Thanks Wrexham 👍
It was 1978, happy days indeed.
Wrexham are one of my favourite respective clubs daily and ever in this world and other planets, good friends!!!I knew them ever since I was a child and they created a shock in a FA Cup match by knocking my beloved Arsenal who were the cup holders in the third round in the year 1994 I think, good friends!!!They are performing quite well in the Vanarama National League which is the English Fifth Tier which I am fully updated, just like the second, third and fourth divisions respectively, good friends!!!LONG LIVE,WREXHAM!!!🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️🏋♂️
FINALYYYY!!! thanks sam... long awaited vid!! cheers
Interesting video, but they are still 2 leagues below us. I hope they do get back up soon, its our main cross border rivalry. Chester is too small a club to be Wrexham's proper rivals. We don't forget the graffiti from back in 2007 either. Hurry up back Walsall was a boring rival. Shrewsbury is waiting.
For a wrexham fan and habitant the end goal is not I believe to get to the PL. The crave for their town and club success and respect obviously but also the well being of their town. That is why this takeover story is so good and why people in wrexham are so happy.
Wrexham are doing really quite well, I'm almost convinced they'll be promoted into the English Football League system(EFL2) next year, but they need to keep up the good work.
I wish them the very best.
Up the town, was waiting for this video for a long time
Looking forward to someone from wrexham getting back to you for the next video 😊
Thank you Sam for the lovely video & good luck to Wrexham in the years ahead..🍀👍
Was hoping Wayne would be in the video, it would be epic as his face often pops up in Welcome to Wrexham.
Hi mate. I'm a big chester fan. Wrexhams big rival.
I’m not a Wrexham fan, but I once worked in the Royal Mail sorting office in Chester, whilst waking to work on a Saturday on home game for Chester I was singing Wrexham Wrexham😂😂
I was only thinking the other day I wonder if you’ll do our league next, so glad you are.
Had to watch when I spotted my neighbour, Alan, on the thumbnail 😂😂
Thanks for another video on a Welsh football team
Sam great video keep vids coming watched welcome to Wrexham on Disney+ great show
Love your channel love your videos, just a guy from Georgia in the states.
Another great video. Smashed it as usual!👏😀
Cheers David. Appreciate the support!!
Thanks for visiting. It’s funny I’ve lived here all my life but never paid much attention to the plaques at the turf or the wynstay hotel. I’m sure one of us can help you if you wanted to go into y the ground in the future. The turf is awesome and always friendly
Love the tier graph you out it. Really puts things in perspective
Greetings from Finland 🇫🇮💪
Wishing Wrexham the best from Texas. International football is so much more exciting than clumsy American NFL...

I went to the fa cup tie at the racecourse ground when Wrexham kocke
I was at the racecourse ground for the Wrexham v arsenal in 1992 when they knocked us out. 2-1 goals by Mickey thamas & Steve watkins.iv not been back since ☹️
I got season ticket at wrexham and i like how i know where u r are all of the time even at the hotel u were at😁😁
Millwall got promoted earlier 2000’s at Wrexham. 4k Lions there & a Tim Cahill header doing the trick! 🦁👌🏻
Wrexham have history aswell we got to the quarter finals of the League Cup 1978 lost to Liverpool same season we got the fa Cup Quarter finals lost to Arsenal 3 2 oh we was a 3rd division club we also got to the European Cup winners quarter finals aswell again we was a 3rd division club oh Anderlecht beat us 2 1 over 2 legs all the games mentioned there was 25 thousand at the games and now we have owners who love the club as much as we do CYMRU AM BYTH WRECSAM FC 🐑 🐑🐑❤️🏴
The documentary is fantastic and being a big it’s always sunny fan I’m happy that wrexham have such caring ownership now. What seemed like such an odd pairing at first actually worked out to be a great thing for wrexham!
Being from Wrexham I loved this video. Should do a video about Rhyl fc and Bangor fc rivalry
Brilliant vid as always, Sam! I'm not sure what your plans are but while you're in Wales, maybe you could cover Bangor City who won the Welsh Title 11 years ago and in 2018 they are no longer members of the Welsh league. A Phoenix club 1876 Bangor has since been formed. :)
I know Newport County is now a Phoenix club - but a blog on their incredible run to the Quarterfinals of the European Cup Winners Cup in the early 80s, while playing Div 3 football, is required.
Watch your videos regularly love the cathkin park video, great to see you in my hometown!
If you need help finding cefn druids new ground and the site of their old ground give us a shout!
Great video as always Sam
Still love the Videos Sam. Keep up the great work. 👍
Greate video yet again!!!
Thanks for visiting us I’m a huge fan please come and watch us tomorrow
Been waiting for this vid for ages
That was a great video! Best of luck to you and your channel
Great job my brother 💙👌🏻⚽
Not only have Wrexham won the Welsh Cup 23 times, they’ve been runners-up 22 times! (Cardiff City 22 times winners, 10 times runners-up, Swansea City 10/8)
Brymbo man from 2000 BC looks a bit like a certain Erling Haaland!
Great video mate
Excellent video 💯
Remember listening to the Wrexham vs Bournemouth game which sent Cherries back to Division 4 after loosing I think it was 2 - 0 to Wrexham . It must’ve been 1998 or thereabouts ☹️
Hey wait, hands free in the opening shots? What sorcery is this? 🤣
How tough is it to get into a local pub or even the pub at the pitch during a home game? We are thinking of taking a trip in a few months to the city. Thanks
theres also leeds utd who play in england but are from la la land where they think theyre a big club.
amazing vid!
Great video. C'mon you Reds!
Revolution
Ah look at that Swansea shirt. ❤️
Footy! I have commented about some high-tensed amateur derbies in the Netherlands a few vids back. 5 november, in just under 2 weeks, the Spakenburg Derby is happening. Possibly the biggest amateur derby here (maybe tied with the Katwijk derby). I would love it if you would go there.
One of our radio shock jocks in Australia is named Alan Jones
welcome to another episode of "closed football pitches: wrexham edition!"!
Are doing Newport county ,Merthyr Tydfil aswel
i was literally in the wynnstay arms last week
Brymbo man looks like an Elder scrolls Oblivion NPC.
Come to Ayr tomorrow
If you're interested in small football clubs, you might consider checking out the clubs in the Faroe Islands. It's a small country, about the same size as New York City, with a population of 54,000. A few years ago, their national team upset Austria 1-0.
Or this year 2-1 against Türkiye, quite an upset aswell.
Sorry that Wrexham never got back to you via email. Don't worry they don't even email back their own supporters and if you message them in social media... They don't even read it 🤣
Late 70s Wrexham were the biggest club in Wales fact! 🏴
You might have thought the Turf was a friendly pub but go in there as a visiting fan and you might find it a little different. Sadly there is a very nasty element of Wrexham`s fanbase as most of the clubs nearby will testify.
Hopefully you get to come and see a match with us soon.
When was this filmed, I thought they'd run out of Home shirts
Why am I in it omg 🤣
Who filmed the intro? I always thought you did these videos on your own??? 😅
You went the wrong direction from the museum to the turf :)
Wait, wait, wait! You had two hands in view in the opening shot. What witchcraft are you up to?
Obviously the first man interviewed (Alan Jones?) has a memory problem. He is a long time supporter and he can remember when they were in the 1st Division in the 1960s. As your graph shows in the clip, they have never played at the top level!
Sorry but the only specialist people got to watch on the balcony is false, I’ve watched a few games on there in the early 90s. 1 was Wrexham v Reading with Hislop in goal. Apparently Jeremy Beadle used to watch matches there too.
So, he was about??
Merthyr town?? Because Southern league south division total team 5
Doncaster Rovers, technically Scottish but play in the English system... lol. The 2021/22 season look so promising for Wrexham, that last week must have been a huge disappointment for the club and the fans.
W
Need to get you over to the US for a game!
Can you do a Shrewsbury town video
How exciting wouldn't that be
Great video if my hometown but just so you know Brymbo is pronounced brum-bow
Great Video. If you're ever visiting Bala Town give me a message 👍
