    The fact that 2 non football people let alone celebrities can just buy a club, and fall in love with the game and be better owners then most top tier clubs in the sense of actually caring for the city and players and actually wanna grow it is insane to me still this is how you run a club

      Most people with the kind of money to buy a top tier club are sociopaths. At best, they're going to be owners who throw a lot of money at the club because they want to be able to brag about having a winning club, but they don't actually care about the fans or the community.

      @@warlorddk2070 it's because the top 4 tiers of English football is known as the professional league and everything outside of that is semi pro. How ever in the National League the growing number of clubs that have been in the EFL prior to being in the daldrum of non league football is concerning. Oldham are a former Premier League club and are in the National League.
      4 teams go up from league 2 whilst only 2 go down. This needs to be addressed cause as we have seen this season, Wrexham and notts county have been by far the best teams in that division yet notts county may possibly miss out. I sincerely hope that isn't the case because both clubs deserve to be in the EFL after the season they have both had

      Well we've been as high as the championship in the late 70's early 80's and that's only one promotion from the premiership. It's possibly the infrastructure that takes longer to build the kop won't be open until season after next if we go up next season, immediately they are gonna have to look at further ground capacity and so playing catch up again. A training ground is still in the pipeline and will need to have room for future proofing. I think we could well get out of League 2 within 2 seasons. League one top end I'd say is around our level, getting promoted to the championship would mean then playing against some very big teams. If we got there and could hold our own, that would be amazing ... Just one promotion then from the holy grail. We dare to dream

      But yeah to the previous person's point, I don't think them going all the way is crazy. I think this team would be immediately competitive with the top of League Two as it sits right now. Once they get to League One, I think there'd have to be more significant changes and by the Championship I think they'd need additional investment. But it's absolutely possible. That was it for me, forty five years later it’s the same for any new fans, and kids too, enjoying the recent promotion season.
    I’ve got no greed in me, in home life nor for Wxm, I’m just grateful we are back in League 2. That’s already enough!
    Rob and Ryan have already done so much for the community, and the club, and fans, it’s already pure gold, job done.
    I’m happy if we are just trundling along in L2, so long as we never go down to NL again. Seriously.

      🤔

    • @IMArt-kx2ci
      @IMArt-kx2ci Год назад

      @@nickgeeson2288 Not true... first original (and real) official football competition was in 1863 (so it comes to logic it was invented way before)
      Also, if you had kept reading Wikipedia about American football, it says right there at the beginning that "American football evolved in the United States, originating from the sports of soccer and rugby"
      So American football is actually a copy/ merge of two previous "true" sports.
      Btw, I'm just using the terms "true", "real" or "false" "fake " to align my answer to the original commentary's bias... 😉

    • @paulsmith7051
      @paulsmith7051 Год назад +6

      That area will now be funded from the league, whereas in the national League the club's have to fund them themselves and young players can be poached for no fee. It's why this area of the club fell behind under fan ownership, as much was going into the first team to try and be competitive.

    • @brianeleighton
      @brianeleighton Год назад +4

      @@paulsmith7051 The League doesn't actually fund the Academies of the various clubs in the pyramid. The Football League does provide money to the clubs but it is for their share of broadcast rights and merchandising as well as the payment given by the Premier League for a share of its broadcast deal. Clubs are responsible for funding their own Academies but you are right on the second point. A league club can poach any talented youngster from a non-league club for zero fee. For a fan owned club with limited resources it made absolutely zero sense to maintain their Academy infrastructure because any player with talent would get stolen for free.
