- If you like the ASMR style video let me know in the comments!
I apologize for the clips that look like they were filmed from a potato. Some of this is iphone footage mixed with GoPro and was all filmed before I was thinking of starting a YouTUbe Channel.
I could have easily bought both sides of the replacement "A" pillar, its very inexpensive for how complex the piece is. But I found myself wanting a challenge, something a little more difficult than the regular rust repair. Sure, it took me more hours than what my time is worth, but you can't put a price on education and experience.
Thanks for sticking with me as I get better at restoration work and my cinematography for the channel, I appreciate all of you!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone take such a deep dive in their bus restoration.
When I bought the bus I thought it was just going to be some minor bondo work, just a few touch ups... :/
@@BrandonsBus We all thought that when we bought our buses haha
@@Vangabonders true😂..✌
Superb replication of the purchased part. Thanks for the video.
Replication is such a good way to learn fabrication, thanks for watching!
I’ve restored many cars over the last 50 years. Not for hire, for my own. Cutting rust out and fabricating a replacement is just part of it. But I gotta tell you, you are an animal! I would never restore a VW. So what? You are doing such a fine job of it! My Texas hat is off to you sir! Blown away by your dedication, creativity, and tenacity.
Iʼve really enjoyed your channel, and have been looking forward to new posts. Thanks!
Hopefully I can keep putting one video out a week! Thanks for following :)
Brilliant workmanship this bus is going to be better than the ones that were rolled out of VW assembly lines cant wait for your next video thanks for sharing
I just hope it doesn't rust in the future! Thanks for following the journey
I caught the short Last night and was impressed with the quality of work you did. That kind of Fab work and dedication are in short supply anymore, beautiful work and it's well worth the effort to keep the classics alive
Thanks for watching the long version too! I find so much satisfaction in restoration work , it drives me to spend the time on each part.
I'm not into VW's at all but I do like the Engineering side of things & you have done a good job especially Rust proofing on the Inner posts which many do seem to forget 👍👍👍
I actually had a hard time finding out how to treat the inside sections because so few people mess with it. Most people just spray gobs of cavity wax in them and hope for the best.
Absolutely awesome repair. Looks like those doors lined up great. Be careful with aerosolizing phosphoric acid. Breathing that vapor is not good. I look forward to the next video!
Once again awesome metal fabrication from Brandon, on ours the threads had gone on the hinge so I also had to make up another new plate, but welded a few nuts on the back to help secure the screws, also used coppa grease to help stop it rusting.
Nice work. Longer videos, please! Thanks
Working on those longer videos!
Impeccable work! You inspire me to start fixing up my own VW!Love the ASMR style. 😊
The love for VWs is contagious!
I've been waiting for you to post the next video 📹 and this was worth 👌 the wait ✋.
Thank you! I really had fun with this one, Im constantly wanting to get better at my cinematography
Awesome repair work and fabrication at its best
Yeah, man. Ear buds in, dig the ASMR.
Without a doubt, you are creative
Thanks for the videos . Amazing work . Please keep the videos coming .
Trying to post one a week!
Great work-that spot welder sure is slick!
Thanks you
Hi Brandon, Nice piece of metal forming and welding fits as it should be🛠👍🏻☮. well done. Greetings.Hubertus🇳🇱🇳🇴🙏🏻☮
Awesome job bro!!!
Excelente serviço 👏🏻👏🏻
Good job
Like your build because you’re doing all the fab and metal work unless the other guy, who obviously has some major backing
Maybe on another restoration Ill just buy all the replacement parts, but a huge part of this hobby is learning fabrication! Thanks for the comment :)
Looks great man
Fantastic 🎉
One Love VW ❤💪✌
Trabalho de qualidade muito bom parabéns
Брат по работе , привет тебе из Новосибирска!

Nagyon profi vagy!!!!
It is better than faktory new fantastic work
🤗👍👏👏👏
We’re those a portion of bus’ heater Chanels guess everyone will have to wear a jacket in the bus.
I am now thinking it would of been faster to build a whole Kombie van from memory.
😂
How much time did it take you to replicate the piece if i may ask? Great result. Looks like a circus act to me, you make it look so simple. Thanks for posting, keep m comin
It took a whole weekend just to fab the hinge pillar, definitely time consuming but I learned a bunch.
thank you! Keep learning, best guarantee for keeping such an undertaking interesting
عمل مطقن ❤❤❤❤❤
Very nice quality work in my opinion. I was just wondering if the phosphoric acid you used was neutralized before encapsulating it with epoxy primer? I was wondering it it would continue etching the metal? I don't know, just wondering. But your dedication to detail is amazing...
I attempted to neutralize with a wet rag, but didn't get it all because I wasn't keen on spraying a bunch of water up in the pillars. You are correct though, the acid has to be washed and dried prior to epoxy primer to stop the etching!
Hey, great work! But please make the text in screen time longer, it's annoying to keep pausing and rewinding the video to read the text and see what you are talking about, hahahah
Thanks for the feedback! I can do that. :)
may it last forever 😂
Hello brother, I have the same resistance welding and for some reason it doesn’t cook like yours. Did you remake it?
This is the 240v version and it definitely does a better job than the 120v.
@@BrandonsBus Bro the fact of the matter is that I have 220 volts
That is awesome
Super
