- The DyGenGuar, the first of the Dynamic General Guardian (see where the name comes from) series of mechs from the Super Robot Wars series of video games, was my undisputed MVP of machines while playing through the series in college.
Equipped with the battleship slicing Sanshiki Zankantou, he made a pretty memorable impression when he debuted early on in the Alpha series of the Super Robot Wars games.
And now he's in a much easier to build (and affordable) plastic kit!
Kotobukiya made one as well years ago, and it was awesome for the time, but this is a much easier build.
Now I'm going to have to go watch RUclips clips of it to relive those glory days of battle...
Episode 25: DyGenGuar! There is nothing his Zankantou cannot cut!
Good lord. Amazing. SRW is a great model line
He was massive in the anime. They should have made it closer to a MG size if they didn't.
I wouldn't have complained! I feel like this kit isn't much taller than the older Kotobukiya one was either.
It IS actually almost as tall as a Master Grade Gunpla.
they need the horse as a add-on kit
I'd imagine it's somewhere on the list. I'd prefer it in robot mode myself.
Kotobukiya at least set precedent making Aussenseiter in both modes, it would be wrong of Bandai not to try and one up them!
The name DyGenGuar comes from the model Dynamic General Guardian along with the Aussenseiter and the RaiOh, Sanger just shortened the name. Probably sounds like DyZenGuar due to Japanese pronunciation.
It's also how they (mostly) translated it in the old OG2 game on GBA.
holy smokes that sword is massive
Gotta be when your cleaving capital war ships, resurrected gods, and anime villains with plot armor in half!
