  • Bryan Hayes, Dave Feschuk and Al’s Brother discuss Canada’s semifinal loss to Argentina, the officiating in the game, the crowds being majority non-Canadian, how will it be come 2026 when the World Cup is in North America and Canada and the Blue Jays collapse to the Giants in the 9th and more. They are joined by TSN Basketball analyst Leo Rautins to discuss the expectations for Team Canada at the Paris Olympics, which player needs to be Canada’s number 3 behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jamal Murray for them to be successful, if Team USA should still be considered a Basketball powerhouse heading into the Paris games, why the rules at the Olympics could impact them more than the team being older and more.

    Was it favoured for Argentina? Absolutely. Would canada have won with fair referies? Propably not, but would of been a better game to watch.

    I live in Toronto and was in a popular downtown sports bar, and at least 75% of the bar was cheering for Argentina rather than Canada.

      That's because Toronto hasn't been a Canadian city since the 1990s.

    The officials have been favouring Argentina for the last 4 years. FIFA need their soccer god, their Jordan, their Tiger, the one man above Maradona, Pele and Ronaldo. Messi needs all the trophies for that god status that FIFA craves for marketing reasons.

    It’s pretty obvious the officiating was Argentina favoured but it had no impact on the final result. Canada wasn’t going to beat Argentina no matter what that game.

    Of course Argentina had more subs. You're going to have many more guys that play at a high level coming out of a country that takes the game deadly serious. This is Argentina...they may have up to 10x the number of players as Canada that could have played in this tournament.

    how about score more goals? First games was unfair but you dont see us crying about get over it you guys have no scorers. how many goals all tourny? 2? yeah keep crying about refs PS Refs missed alot on both sides. Messi gets foul 90% of the time and does it get called 24/7 NOPE.

    • @jhamdan2012
      @jhamdan2012 21 день назад

      All I hear from Canada is cry cry cry and complain about the referee even before the game has started. They can't admit that their team is in the learning curve and still needs time to grow. Colombia got a red card today against a giant team, and never complained about the referee decision. Canada complained about every referee whistle.....they didn't want to hear any whistle against their team.

    • @ADF366
      @ADF366 21 день назад

      We had so many opportunities so many overloads so many teams leaving it open in copa. Should have scored at least a few more goals especially against the red carded teams. Our players lose all focus and composure when given easy chances. Even the semi we had 4 clean shot opportunities and all wasted. U can't do that then complain later

    Lol nope. The officials were bad but that's not the reason Canada lost. Canada has a big lack of squad depth and lack of offense. They are not even close to Argentinas level.

    • @theyonlycomeoutwhenitsquiet
      @theyonlycomeoutwhenitsquiet 21 день назад +1

      The argument was not “Canada lost because of reffing”
      The argument was “Argentina legitimately won, but Canada was done a disservice on multiple occasions between goals by unequal calls; which, if made equal, would have made the game more competitive.”
      Argentina should likely win under those circumstances anyway. But several calls were objectively bad.
