Listening to this, I personally felt the lyrics to be very specific to Diana's life, but also touching on some universal truths.
The first stanza (with its soothing blues and whites) is Diana's adoptive mother (Irina Ponik) saying look into my eyes and find unconditional love, support, and safety.
The 2nd stanza (with more ominous darker colors) is what Irina saw in Diana as an orphan - the hurt, frightened, wolfing girl.
Finally, in the stripped down final verse with just Diana and her ukulele sounding so vulnerable, there are still lingering dreams of her frightful past which can't be escaped (she has commented on this in interviews). Hence the furtive glances behind her.
Diana and her mom have such a deep love for each other it is truly touching. Irina has devoted her life to supporting Diana's dreams.
Diana's initial version of this song was all ukulele like the last verse, and she was very reluctant to release the song because as she said "the first pancake always has lumps".

This video is an expression of Diana's traumatic past, the "little wolf" is always present with his scars, his nightmares even, if the bright side has taken over the dark, at least during the day.
The black suit, the (fake) tattoo on the forehead and the sound from 2'00 made me imagine Diana singing "operatic" metal rock like Floor Jansen from Nightwish! She has the depth and the voice to do it... But it's just an idea that crossed my mind for a minute... but still remains very present...
But at the same time, I don't believe that Diana will one day be able to limit herself to a single musical genre, her genre is the transmission of emotion and that she can do it whatever the style of music! But in my opinion, jazz, soul music and "alternative" rock allow a very strong involvement of the audience and therefore the resonance of the performer with it.

(I am not a professional but I have compiled information found on Diana's official website, in interviews and in reactions from singers and musicians)
Your astonishment is not exceptional! Diana is an unique contralto (dramatic contralto) her comfort range is C3-C6 but in constant evolution. Diana uses many vocal techniques rarely used in pop music (like overtones, yodel, and some from lyric chant....). The one that seems to amaze people the most is multitonal (polyphonic) voice. The root notes are enriched with powerful harmonics which can give the impression that there are several overlapping voices or an artificial effect which gives this result.
This technique is used in Slavic folk music, like Bulgarian vocal groups or artists like Pelageya (ruclips.net/user/OlegSemyonov73videos), the Russian folk diva. I cannot tell you exactly how these artists achieve this result, I was just told that it is linked to the simultaneous use of the different resonators of the human body and that such a mastery of the voice and of the breath with such a fluidity requires years of work, Diana has been singing on stage and has been taking singing and performing arts lessons since the age of 6!
She has become famous in the broadcast "You're Great!" ("You are Super"), a song contest reserved for children who have had a difficult start in life. This is the case of Diana who was mistreated and ended up in an orphanage at 3 years old.
In her shows, Diana participates in the direction, direction and arrangements of her performances. She is a complete artist.
In addition, until the recent past her costumes were often designed and sewn by her mother and grandmother since she was 5.
