    Ridley is my favorite director, he even draws some of the storyboards and they look great! He's honest, straight forward and seems like a nice guy. Any fan of his should pick up the book Ridley Scott Interviews which is a bundle of all of his interviews over the years and provides lots of background info as well. Can't wait for Prometheus!

    Loved Prometheus. Seems like people disliked it because not only were some questions not answered but even more questions were asked at the ending lol. For me though, I loved it. Hopefully they get a chance at a sequel. Also, can't wait for BR2.

    Waiting to see the film June 8th here in U.S. Have complete confidence in the visuals of Prometheus because it is Ridley Scott at the helm. From what I am hearing in all reviews is the the imagery is completely stunning. My wife who isn't into the film because of the possible gore factor is very impressed with the trailers. Visually again, saying it appears to be a well made film. I am definitely looking forward to this and sense that it'll be something I'll enjoy. Thanks for the post.

    Noomi Rapace recently said they're working on the script as we speak.
    Prometheus was designed from the beginning to set up a franchise, and it made a big profit, so I can't see why they wouldn't do it.

  • @stoneman127
    @stoneman127 12 лет назад

    No problem. Now that I know the quality of the film, I can wait. It's great to have a movie to look forward to that doesn't turn out to be crap. From the reviews I've read and heard (both the good ones and the bad, both with spoilers and not), this will be something I'll enjoy. The "Emagine" theaters have both 3D and stereophonic seating (sound system built into the seats). So cool.

  • @stoneman127
    @stoneman127 12 лет назад

    Me too. This is such a sneaky movie that you have to watch for clues. Glad I saw it first in 2D. Will go to IMAX 3D to get the full visual effect. Shaw's choice near the end was a surprise for me. Also, the holograms of the aliens running through the caves, who was chasing them? Just another mystery. I got it that the wall paintings on Earth were a warning and not an invitation. Too cool!!!!

    I loved this interview. I really did. Also, AvP is a comic thing. The two series have nothing to do with one another. In the comics, AvP even crossed over with Terminator. People just love Scott and Cameron, so the comics took advantage of that. The reason the idea of AvP is so popular is because in terms of true popular space scifi, in the 80s we only had, Star Wars, Star Trek, Alien and Predator. Can't crossover Trek and Wars, but people really want to see the Xenomorph and Yautja fight. They

    For all of you who dismiss Prometheus for being "plotholed" and containing bad screenwriting should take a deep breath and take a step back.
    When Alien came on screen it was followed by equally critical voices.
    It was said to have raised more questions than there were to explain.
    Prometheus is a good movie for many reasons. But the foremost important reason I believe is that the movie was doing exactly that.
    Raising questions.
    This was not your Arnold Schwarzenegger filled, numbing action movie.
    This is a story that is awaiting the second part (Part two obviously).
    A story that is full of interpretations that will fill the so called "plot holes" until they are explained.
    These interpretations can be validated by just watching the movie. At least with some logic put into it.
    I think this is a movie that is going to be seen as a game changer in a few years for this type of movies.
    Cheers fellow mates.

      You dont need to see the Alien movies to understand.
      Imagine going to the first film without any knowledge of anything.
      They didnt even fully explain androids, xenomorphs or even the ship and its distress signal.
      Let alone the man strapped to a tablechair thing.

    Prometheus was awesome, I hav a couple of Ideas myself behind the exact link of how to tie everything into Alien and the xenomorph. I'll just share very briefly, The black goo and its properties, those Juggernaut craft bieng livinig life-forms similar to trees, and the xeno eggs bieng grown on the ships themselves. The facehugger coming from a mix of cross breeding by the engineers using another spieces to fill in a DNA code, with the Tribolite.

    Finally saw it (in 2D) yesterday. Man I loved it!!! The trailers and clips really throw you off track. You have watch it closely to catch some of the clues. And mysteries. What did David do during those 2 years alone? He did things that fit an agenda which is not fully revealed in the movie. I suspect the original film is longer than the one being shown. Did anyone catch it that one crew member was smoking a doobie in his helmet? Too funny and explains some reckless choices.

    What if they made it where the eggs in that derelict were grown on the ship itself, and with all the properities of that black goo, and the pilot getting infected by one of his own cargo getting free. The xeno we're all familiar with looks humanoid becus of the engineers and us, but also too its outer characteristics from the ship itself, mostly the pilot chair and such, with all that tubing and bio-mechanical look. Makes sense to me.

    Скотт это режиссер Голливуда, который сделал фильмы ужасов на основе своих архивных документов, которые были засекречены долгое время НАТО. Все эти ужасы существуют в космосе, но они существуют в тонком плане. Это не фантазии Скотта, а реальность, которая была принесена на землю подобными режиссерами Голливуда.

    I whole heartedly agree. I wud've just rathered he made a totally new bunch of characters, so all young actors like those, that r witty and stylish all that, but just different names, new characters. None of this classic characters becus they simply dont act nothing like them, only Karl Urban reminded me of Bones. And it was too watered dwn, and unrealistic how Kirk made himself Captain anyway, how he was able to take command of the ship, just the whole way those characters come together, rushed

    I couldn't care less what the creatures looked like in this. Did you just want all the creatures to be Xenomorph's instead? -_- Prometheus was unoriginal, yes, but it still had it's moments in the whole sense of claustrophobia thing that I found to be legit in a different style.

    • @RaikenXion

      Hey the Dollars films are epic! imagine the last scene of Good, Bad and Ugly, with all those tombstones being Urns instead. And Imagine the characters of Tuko and Man with no name are David and the Engineer and they both after the secret holy grail formula to all life in universe, that the Xenos play a big part in (to do with their biology).
      Like that scene where they find Bill Carson and they each know one half of the name, thats the Good Engineer and the Bad Engineer. They had to work together secretly while each of their respective factions were perhaps warring. They were trying to get to the very place where the progenitor xenos were discovered.

    • @sturmraist50
      @sturmraist50 9 лет назад

      Raiken Xion That's a unique perspective on both films. I never would have thought of an overlay like that. Let me ask you: have you made these kinds of comparisons with other films, or do you just really like Prometheus and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly?

    • @RaikenXion
      @RaikenXion 9 лет назад

      *****
      I have made such comparisons before on other films. I had a Idea that used the premise of Apocalypse Now mixed with something else and I cant remember what it was now, wish I had wrote the Idea dwn when I thought of it.
      But admitted I do like both films, the showdown in Good, Bad is epic when he just leaves Tuko there all that time and that there is some serious shooting. I luv the bridge explosion scene too, if you watch that and pause you can see the actual debris come flying toward the camera and one piece hits the sand bags real close to Clint's leg I think it was.
      Such a scene shot today would be purely green screen, the amount of money it would cost, also just the problem of Insurance for the actors, gotta admire movie making at its finest bk then.

    • @sturmraist50
      @sturmraist50 9 лет назад

      Raiken Xion
      I absolutely agree. Did you also know that the crew blew up the bridge I think before Sergio Leone had any cameras on it? And it had to be rebuilt and blown up again? Definitely worth it, I think. The effects in those days always looked great because they were real. And we could also talk about the music for this film too. Ennio Morricone I consider a musical genius.

    • @RaikenXion
      @RaikenXion 9 лет назад

      ***** Yes they talk about that in the commentary, imagine how that guy must have been feeling at that moment, the one who blew up the bridge too early I mean haha.
      Oh yes Ennio musical score for the dollars films is masterful, its like the music itself tells the story of the film if you were to just watch the entire film without the dialogue. I just miss films like that, admitted Im not even a big western fan, its just my grandad got me into them and I was just amazed at the scope, and the mythical feel they have. Morricone's score of Once Upon a Time in the West is another to admire also, I luv Harmonica's theme the best in that film.
      Theres something very unique about Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns, especially the Dollars films.

    Ridley is definitely nowhere near as good as he once once. Visually, he is still as sharp as ever. Prometheus looks fantastic. The script is mediocre for Prometheus. I watched the original Alien last night and it is easy to forget just how good it was. Dunno if HR Giger was involved with Prometheus but I doubt it and it shows. If Ridley does any more of that stuff he should watch the original and just think 'yep, it's all about the characters and the story. Not how overtly impressive I want to make it look'

    • @squamish4244
      @squamish4244 9 лет назад

      Yeah. Lazy in how discriminating he is with his scripts. When he recognizes a good script and doesn't mess with it, a great movie will follow. When he doesn't, or screws with it, his eternal strengths - stunning visuals, detail, editing, strong female characters - will still be there, but the movie could be all over the place - like Prometheus and Kingdom of Heaven.

      You dont need to, just wait and see.
      Theres so much there to look into, if Prometheus was so badly received why was the sequel planned before the first movie released?
      Why is Ridley the exec producer of the upcoming Alien5 sequel?
      Prometheus sequel is obviously considered more important to set up the whole bk-story of everything if that is planned for release first before Alien5 comes out.
      Blomkamp has big respect for Ridley and wants to see what is established as canon in the Prometheus sequel, so he can then tie his "Alien5" movie into the Alien universe officially. He wants it to all fit together but at sametime correct the mess that Alien3 and especially Alien4 created.
