I use to do it the way this guy did it I went back to the original. I originally did it to stop accidentally emergency call but somehow I still hit it a few times with the way he did it just not as much. I can’t where a case on my anymore I got mine good plated defeats the whole purchase of purchase that extra gold played job showing it off.
Last winter I was shocked that my ski glove had activated the emergency call, calling 911 and my sending my wife a message. I now wear it upside down all winter.
To each their own. I just tried this and found the dial would also hit my forearm the other way, but either way I barely noticed. While I did find the dial slightly easier to hit with my thumb, I found it much harder to hit the button above it because the dial partially blocked my big thumb from it in that orientation.
Been doing it this way for years just because of the gym. Using straps and certain workouts having the crown facing towards your hand always caused issues. Surprised I don’t see more people doing this.
Dude, I accidentally found this video... but it changed my life. I've had this problem for so long, never knowing I could just change the orientation. Thanks man!
Damn Dude!! Great video. I never thought of this in all the time I’ve had an Apple Watch... I’m disabled & a wheelchair user. I was always hitting the crown when pushing myself around. You’re a lifesaver & have turned my life upside down (Well, my watch at least)
I ran in college and when I first started running there the #1 girl wore her garmin upside down and I asked her why?? She told me it’s bc it’s on the heart rate and you can view your time easier than flipping your wrist... ever since then I haven’t looked back! only down side is I needed to buy a screen protector.
I'm often bumping up against the crown and it's annoying. I was thinking of wearing it on my right wrist as a result. Thanks for pointing out you don't have to do that; you can change it within settings.
Great idea! Thank you. I was mowing the lawn today and the workout paused! Couldn't believe it. Is there a way to lock the screen after setting up the workout so it doesn't do this?
OMG this is a game changer. I’m always hitting the Digital Crown and I’m always like. 🤬 Thank you. Now just to get used to it. Wish I would have know this years ago before I trained myself to have the Digital Crown on the right side. Who knew that the Left-Side WAS the right side to wear it. 😂
I wear my watch on left wrist also and I guess upside down. I am nurse and it works best for taking pulses. My main ? is do you wear a cover over glass so it does not get scratched.
That's cool, Kathy! At the moment I am not wearing a screen protector, but I am wearing a case. My recommendations for both can be found in the video description box if you're interested!
I literally threw my Apple Watch across the tee deck yesterday, because Siri kept interrupting my back swing!! I also found it irritating when I'm skiing... Great video!! Changes made, never looking back!!
this just blew my damn mind. I've owned my watch over a year and never even wondered why I had the option of selection the side the digital crown was worn on. I do boxing and my wraps and gloves always stop my activity tracker which was so annoying. Excited to try this at the gym tonight and see if it helps.
I've been doing this since I got it. I got frustrated and almost took the watch back in the first couple of weeks. I kept turning it off or siri talking etc. Then I got to thinking, if you can configure it to be worn on left or right wrist, maybe I can just flip it. I was so happy to discover this.
Just switched to this way of wearing it, when bench pressing it would always change the volume of music and blow out my ear drums, or it would get Siri to start talking to me and we all know that nobody wants that.
You Da man. I’m left handed as well and often holding my ipad up or I keep watch high on my wrist doing various things as a long haul trucker I always thought the accidental Siri summoning was lame and embarrassing . Today I updated from series 1 to series 5 and saw your video while looking around on RUclips for new tips and tricks. You are my hero. Thank you for taking the time to upload this useful video in a sea of useless videos!
OM Goodness! Why didn’t i think of this! I have called emergency services TWICE by accident. Every time I do a push up, mountain climbers etc the siren goes off! I even tried sweat bands, pushing the watch further up my are (it slips down again when you sweat). 😊 great tip!!!
Love it. Many times I’d accidentally bang the crown on a door. Or sometimes even the tight sleeve of a windbreaker would cause the crown to depress. Depressing.. Gotta try this. Wondering how long it will take to get used to. Curious about activating Apple Pay, which I use daily
Gonna get the series 3 in a couple of weeks and its my first apple watch ever..I feel like you are really reasonable and I just might do this from the start, so it basically is not weird to me and get used to it that way! Thanks for another great video x
MIND BLOWWWWWNNNNN!!! I have had the same problem with my apple watch when I used it to track my fitness when lifting. I tried first locking the buttons to stop my wrist wraps from messing with the buttons (ultimately stop my watch from tracking my workout) but my wrist wraps would somehow unlock the watch and would stop my workouts anyway! I then have started switching my watch to wear it on the inside of my right wrist. I resolved the issue (somewhat) of my watch failing to track my work outs but now i face the problem where I will finish with a heavy lift and my watch will either not register my heart rate or say my heart rate is 50-80 BPM when it is doubled that. I am gonna try your suggestion for myself and see how it works.
I have only had my Apple watch a couple weeks (to replace a Fitbit) and haven't yet had the problem you describe when I am at the gym. Maybe my wrists aren't as big or flexible? Anyway, I switched the orientation after reading the comments. I anticipate bumping the crown when I put my hands in my pockets and wearing gloves this winter. Time will tell. Off to watch more of your videos and learn more about this piece of technology now! Thanks.
I had the same issue with the Digital Crown. I thought you were gonna add on the fact that the microphone is on right side which makes it easier to use
Doing this today when I figure skate and coach skating the watch is doing all types of stuff finally started taking it off for rink time. Apple Watch may make a come back in my life.
After a couple of days wearing my first ever Apple Watch, I did the same thing as you, for the same reasons as you. Mostly, I found that bending my wrist kept accidentally hitting the crown and causing annoying problems. BTW, is there a particular golf app that you use? I'm still searching for that perfect, totally free golf GPS app.
Happy to hear it, Bob! I've been trying out a lot of golf apps this summer and it's still somewhat difficult for me to determine a winner for several different reasons. Hole 19 and Golfshot, however seem to be my favorites! Maybe I'll make a video on my favorite sports/golf apps one day soon!
Yep, as someone who is left-handed, it makes sense for me to: a) wear it on my right wrist and have the crown bottom-left. Makes perfect sense to me. Entertaining video. Very good.
Damn! I’m glad I found this video. I have been wondering why Apple would put the Digital Crown on the side closets to the wrist where it would get bumped all the time!
I don't have an Apple Watch yet.....but I am left handed and have seen a left handed RUclipsr (iJustine) not only wearing her Apple Watch on her right wrist (which I don't even do with my regular watches.) However, I type one handed most of the time and with my left hand. So, now I understand why now through your video...why you're wearing your watch with the orientation of the crown on the left! I'm an extremely new subscriber and I really like your videos! Thanks so much!
John Pontoon idk what happened but i think my hand pushed now the power button and called the cops thank god no one came thats a good thing and a bad thing
Another reason (not sure if it was mentioned or not in the comments) The microphone is away from any obstruction while calling with a long sleeve or winter coat for example. Thank again for the tip!
Thanks for this video! I was having the same issues with the crown accidentally being pushed. Seems to be way less with the new iWatch 3 - but I switched from your video and prefer it this way! Awesome solution! thanks!
I wear it on my right hand and it’s really useful that way. It gets in the way when I use it in the left hand because I’m left handed and when I’m writing it’s just impossible to just have it on
I can’t thank you enough for this tip! I am right handed and started wearing my watch on my right because of how uncomfortable it was on my left and hitting the button. I lost the ability to swipe text (right handed) Thank you
I'm a lefty and have always had the watch on my right wrist and the crown on the left for three years. After this video I'm going to see if I like the crown on the right better, using the thumb for the access. Who knows?
I wear mine this way and have done so for awhile because I find it easier to push the crown with my thumb instead of my pointer finger. The series 4 ECG works the same using my thumb versus pointer.
I done that the day I got mine, it’s easier to use the the buttons the side, and there no wrong or right way to wear it, that’s why you got the option to rotate the screen and my wrist bone pops out so much the watch is uncomfortable so I have to have mine below my wrist a little, and using my thumb with the buttons is a lot easier and better than using your index finger or other fingers
thumbs up from me, finally ur videos getting fast good views, am so happy bro , I was waiting for you to make money from youtube , good luck my best youtuber :)
If you wear it the way you do, it presses the crown just the same with those kind of movements. So turning the watch for you is just a way to “want to” be different?
Thank you. I bought the watch a week ago and I have to wear safety gear in my workplace that is always activating them buttons this helped immensely not to get accustomed to the buttons
Thank you thank you thank you thank youuuu! What an insane difference. Lol I literally started putting my Apple Watch down during kettle bell workouts and now can totally use them with accuracy. Dude this is simply genius and I can’t believe I didn’t even see that setting.
I actually had a question, I wanted to know what kind of bands do you use on your Apple Watch, while at the gym ? I only ask because I heard some people find it uncomfortable to have a leather or metal band while working out and find a plastic or fabric mesh material is more breathable on you wrist
omg thanks for this! i didnt know about this feature! i got my first apple watch this morning & the crown placement was kinda bothering me w/ my wrist pressing against it. thanks again! 🫶🏼
I tried it, but I'm not comfortable with reaching over the crown to press the multitask button. Would be great if that button were perhaps on the other side.
Such a great idea, I had exactly the same problem in the gym with siri being activated when my wrist was cocked. I have flipped my watch now and won't be going back; my problem is solved. Like from me!
Tristan Petricca wrong. In the right hand the crown will be on the other side which is not disturbed by hand movement.. Watch the video again why he used it like that for.
What other reasons can *YOU* think of for wearing the Apple Watch UPSIDE DOWN?!
BMACadelic I've seen iJustine wear hers upside down on her right wrist, because she's left handed.
I accidentally called 911 at the gym once
I wear my watch on my right wrist like this bc im left handed.
It puts the speaker and mic in a better position when you raise the watch to your pretty pretty FACE ; )
BMACadelic because I rather be a rebel 😂
I wear my Apple watch inside out where the screen touches my skin 'cause I don't want to scratch the face.
I wouldn't recommend that as that defeats the purpose of the Watch, but you do you!
LostInMySpace 😂
Me2
BMACadelic r/woooosh
Jack Bashed ikr😂
I’ve always done the same with mine! My husband thought I was weird and then a few weeks later I noticed he’d changed his orientation!!
Happy to hear it!
😂 that’s actually adorable
I use to do it the way this guy did it I went back to the original. I originally did it to stop accidentally emergency call but somehow I still hit it a few times with the way he did it just not as much. I can’t where a case on my anymore I got mine good plated defeats the whole purchase of purchase that extra gold played job showing it off.
Last winter I was shocked that my ski glove had activated the emergency call, calling 911 and my sending my wife a message. I now wear it upside down all winter.
I’ve been doing this before this video. I do it cuz the buttons get annoying on my wrist
Happy to hear!
To each their own. I just tried this and found the dial would also hit my forearm the other way, but either way I barely noticed. While I did find the dial slightly easier to hit with my thumb, I found it much harder to hit the button above it because the dial partially blocked my big thumb from it in that orientation.
i thought i was using it right when i first got it. it just felt better when i put it on like that for the first time. it's more comfortable for me
Happy to hear it!
Life saver! I get so tired of Siri trying to have conversations with me unsolicited.
Happy this helps!
Been doing it this way for years just because of the gym. Using straps and certain workouts having the crown facing towards your hand always caused issues. Surprised I don’t see more people doing this.
Happy to hear it!

I’m so happy to hear that you found this video, Wayne! That’s exactly why I made it. Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts!
Wayne I’m also a disabled person and when I get my watch I’m going to do that also
ASL interpreter here! I asked 3 dif stores about this and no one could tell me until NOW! headed out to get mah watch now!!!!
Thanks a lot for the vid dude, I wear mine “upside down” now, and like it so much better 👌🏽
Happy to hear it!
I ran in college and when I first started running there the #1 girl wore her garmin upside down and I asked her why?? She told me it’s bc it’s on the heart rate and you can view your time easier than flipping your wrist... ever since then I haven’t looked back! only down side is I needed to buy a screen protector.

That’s incredible to hear! Thank you for watching!

That's cool, Kathy! At the moment I am not wearing a screen protector, but I am wearing a case. My recommendations for both can be found in the video description box if you're interested!
This is how I normally wear mine anyway. Because I live in the upside down.
Obsessed with Stranger Things much?
@@visionar007 no they’re just Australian

Where can I buy this leather thing on your watch
Link in video description box!
Now my question is that what if you’re going to use the ECG feature. How are we going to place our finger at the digital crown?
You can use your thumb!
OM Goodness! Why didn’t i think of this! I have called emergency services TWICE by accident. Every time I do a push up, mountain climbers etc the siren goes off! I even tried sweat bands, pushing the watch further up my are (it slips down again when you sweat). 😊 great tip!!!

I just adjust the band one notch looser and move it higher for when I cycle and I wear gloves, problem solved.
I personally like to adjust my bands as little as possible, but that works too!
I’m left handed and the knob was always hitting my wrist, super annoying. Love this quick fix.
Happy to help!
You are my Apple iWatch hero! This is a total gym game changer for me 💪🏻
Thank you for the kind words, Jeni! Happy to hear!
It's not an Apple iWatch it's Apple Watch.
Hey man, can you tell me what strap you're wearing? Not the leather one- the orange/black one. It looks awesome!

Irene Kyr I’m going to get my series 3 in a few weeks and it’ll be my first too!

I once flexed my left hand back and held the side button in and inadvertently called 911. Embarrassed to say the least.
So the cops actually came? To be a fly on the wall for that one.
Ahahahaha that's a great story!
my mom works at a school and a kid held it down and same thing happened and cops showed up lmao. she stopped wearing it to work after that.
John Pontoon idk what happened but i think my hand pushed now the power button and called the cops thank god no one came thats a good thing and a bad thing

I might have to switch to this myself, especially for the gym
Let me know how it works out for you if you do, Shawn!
Wear the watch 3 or 4 inches up on the correct hand and you won’t hit the crown at the gym if you tried.
I'm a lefty and have always had the watch on my right wrist and the crown on the left for three years. After this video I'm going to see if I like the crown on the right better, using the thumb for the access. Who knows?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
BMAC is always great and funny to watch your videos, keep it up !
Thanks so much, Esteban! I appreciate that!
This was one of the first things I did on my watch because of the gym. I’m glad I’m not the only person who did this.
Happy to hear it!
OK, I tried it , and I like it upside down.
Happy to hear it!
GodGunsGutsandNRA i hate it I’m left handed wearing Apple Watch on left hand with Digital Crown on right side and it’s way comfy
At the very beginning, which band color you were wearing? Desert or brown?
Brown!
I wear mine around my head so when I look in the mirror I look at the time and not my ugly face.😂
I wear mine this way and have done so for awhile because I find it easier to push the crown with my thumb instead of my pointer finger. The series 4 ECG works the same using my thumb versus pointer.
Happy to hear it!
What is the band your using in this video for the apple watch? I like that color combo
Link in the video description box!
I love this! game changer! I don’t know how I came about this video but I’m glad I did changes everything ❤️💁♀️

Thanks so much, GOR! I appreciate the support!
Thanks that helped a lot
How did you able to change the colour of the minute and hour hand??? Aren't that not customisable by default???
Those should be white by default. My color grading may have made them look slightly different than normal!
I was tired of the accidental screenshots. I guess I could disable that feature.
That could be another reason, yes!
Man!!! Thanks for this. I workout and on back day I use straps and I constantly kept pressing that button
Happy to help, Nelson!
Could be useful if you do a lot of biking. Idk I just ordered mine last week and it’s coming tomorrow so I’m going to try it out like this first.
Sweet, great video. I’ve activated the SOS and actually accidentally called 911 from this but won’t anymore with the switch. Thanks BMAC!!!
You're so funny dude! You have a new subscriber! I just changed my settings and put the digital crown on the left side! Let's see how it goes! :)
I’ve always did it after the first week. I lift weights and it presses the button. I haven’t watched the entire video but that my reason.
The sass 😂😂😂😂
#TheSass
If you wear it the way you do, it presses the crown just the same with those kind of movements. So turning the watch for you is just a way to “want to” be different?
That’s not at all true. Switching the origination of the Digital Crown prevents accidental presses. I explain in this video how.
MIND. BLOWN.
Happy to have blown your mind!
Accidentally pressing the Digital Crown has been doing my head in, especially when working in or near water. Cheers problem solved now. Awesome!
Happy to help!
Why does the apple watch pause, while I'm using the workout app?
Series 5
Good idea, hated pressing crown on right. Nice tip.
And it hides the stupid red top
Glad you liked it!
Thank you. I bought the watch a week ago and I have to wear safety gear in my workplace that is always activating them buttons this helped immensely not to get accustomed to the buttons
Happy to hear it, MiguelNEZ!
🤯🤯🤯 thx for the great tip!
No problem!
Thank you thank you thank you thank youuuu! What an insane difference. Lol I literally started putting my Apple Watch down during kettle bell workouts and now can totally use them with accuracy. Dude this is simply genius and I can’t believe I didn’t even see that setting.
So happy to hear it! Thank you for watching and commenting!
where is the next video bro, don't stop uploading
we are waiting to smash the like button :)
SMASH IT!!! lol love that word!
What band are you wearing in this video? I don’t see it linked?

Just saw you video by accident and it helped me figure out how to land pushups without turning on siri.. thanks mate.

😂 Welcome to the channel!
Just switched mine, so far strapping it on is sooooooo much easier. Now let’s see how I like the crown on the inside :)

WOOT WOOT! Congrats, Connor - and Thank you!
Im a truck driver, when i turn the wheel my wrist touches the digital crown. This is my first apple watch so rhis helps alot!

@@itstheBMAC thanks for not taking it personally. I don't really like videos where the host repeats themselves

Sounds like you were envious that day Mark. Seeing someone approach life energy, positivity and humour must be really irritating - right?
Such a great idea, I had exactly the same problem in the gym with siri being activated when my wrist was cocked. I have flipped my watch now and won't be going back; my problem is solved. Like from me!
Dude you literally could just put your Apple Watch on your right wrist
I never wear watches on my right wrist as a right-handed individual, TJ Petersen!
That literally solves NOTHING. If he's at the gym, people do stuff with both fucking hands... Wow dude, you didn't think that through at all
Tristan Petricca wrong. In the right hand the crown will be on the other side which is not disturbed by hand movement.. Watch the video again why he used it like that for.
Tristan Petricca booiii👋
tj i dont trust people who wear watches on their rights wrists.
I had the same issue with my Apple Watch until I got a Spigen Rugged watch case and it now protects that from happening anymore.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing, J!
