A brutal story all around. No one really gets out alive.
Many thanks to Talalay, Moffat, Capaldi, Gomez, Sim, Mackie, everyone, for showing what Doctor Who can be.

The part where the Master (in disguise) is explaining to Bill that the bags don't come off the patients' heads, paired with the incredible, chilling opera score is fantastic... One of the most haunting scenes in Doctor Who, as the patient drones "Die, Me".

Not only is it the first ever multi-Master story, the origin story of the Cybermen, and the best Cybermen story in my eyes, but it's also one of the best episodes in Who, period. It's by far the best appearance of the Cybermen, and one that actually feels cohesive to their overall timeline.. Capaldi only had two Cybermen stories, but I think both of them are the best of all the Cybermen stories that have been written.
I've put a list of all the Cybermen episodes since 2005, but none of them are Dark Water/Death in Heaven level, never mind World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls level.
Rise of the Cybermen/The Age of Steel (10th Doctor)
    Army of Ghosts/Doomsday (10th Doctor)
    The Next Doctor (10th Doctor)
The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang (11th Doctor)
A Good Man Goes To War (11th Doctor)
    Closing Time (11th Doctor)
    Nightmare in Silver (11th Doctor)
The Time of the Doctor (11th Doctor)
Dark Water/Death in Heaven (12th Doctor)
World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls (12th Doctor)

I love this episode. If I'm honest my only gripe was wanting it to be 3 parts. I wanted to see far more of the cybermen at the bottom of the ship but it finishes 12, messy and bills arcs perfectly with fantastic performances

I am only a recent doctor who fan and series 10 was my first series so this story I just fell in love with. but I was so confused cos I had no idea who missy was. 🤣
5 years later and here I am, contemplating whether they are ever gonna do a valeyard story.
wait what season 10 was 5 years ago?!?!?!

It doesn't quite live up to Spare Parts from Big Finish as a Cyberman story but it is still easily the best Cyberman story we've ever seen.

Was definitely great brought modern and classic Cybermen together in a great way and two great masters and have a beautiful exit to capaldi…well penultimate exit

Amazing, excellent, tragic and heartbreaking. I really need to find out where the New Who episodes are playing, because _I'm not subscribed to enough streaming services_ yet! Excellent edit! Thank you so much for creating and sharing it with us. Cheers!

Not quite but could’ve been the start of a fantastic new age of the Cybermen similar to what Rise of the Cyberman and Age of Steel was 10 years prior. Instead, it just muddied the waters for the canon slightly (though not Timeless Child levels of damage). I always thought Moffat didn’t understand the Cybermen, he utilised them so poorly but in his final bow, he pulled out this masterpiece of a two-parter. I just wish he’d made Bill a little bit more memorable so her fate was more impactful. Plus, we knew she was back for 12’s final bow too so there were no real stakes sadly. Other than that, easily one of the best Moffat-Era stories. I’d even say it’s better than Heaven Sent. Always thought that episode was slightly overrated. This was better.
Also, found your channel after coming by some of your references videos. LOVE and SUBSCRIBED instantly. Glad to catch you while just getting going.

How did it muddy the canon?
