One of the two caves we get access to after exploring more of the Valley of Repose. This one is very dangerous, with all its explosives and projectiles.
The boss is another fan-favorite. If you're not careful for even a second, it'll blast your whole squad to death.
Oh, and one of the treasures didn't spawn on a floor for me, so I re-did the cave later. That's why you don't see "cave complete" at the end. I talk about it during the video.
One trivia about Man-at-Legs: it attacks more frequently if the GameCube memory device has a malfunction.

Ok so I was running this game on an emulator cause I don’t have a physical copy and it was having a bug where it couldn’t detect a memory card so i went though the second half of this dungeon without saving and I can confidently say that this is 100% true

Hairy bulborbs have slightly less health, but are more aggressive. Its a halfway point between the red bulborb and the orange bulborb.
I got absolutely destroyed by this boss. I couldn’t get a purple pikmin to latch, and after failing for 2 cycles he wandered over behind my cover and destroyed my other party.

I started this cave with 100 and ended with 11, I was about to leave it without getting to the final floor, but i didnt give up
This place is eerie. Why is there a massive big open hollow chamber underground filled with metallic ruins of cities?
Once you get Blue Pikmin, come here immediately and do this cave and with the power up here, go back to the Perplexing Pool and do Submerged Castle.

Same I’m still in awe on how he hits the boss directly with every throw and his timing like oh my so good. I didn’t know that this guy would just pop up without me doing anything so I was caught off guard and I couldn’t hit him for my life still so hard for me is hitting target with pikmin.

Devs was out of their minds to give an Arachnorb species a machine gun! As Emile of Chuggaaconroy quoted, "If Beady Long Legs hadn't already sucked before, this thing comes IN with a frickin' MACHINE GUN!" during his let's play in 2011. Or something along those lines. That takes a lot of skill and patience to have your Pikmin or the Captains to not get harmed or killed with what happened in his outtake of losing Olimar against this boss.

If there are rocks or bomb rocks that fall in a cavern I just send one solitary leader to run around and cause every one of them to fall without any risk to pikmin ( though this would be impossible in the submerged castle for obvious reasons)
Exploring alone doesn't activate all traps in a sublevel. There are certain traps that won't be triggered until a certain number of Pikmin pass through.
Example:
In the Dream Den there is a Spotty Bulbear that won't drop from the ceiling unless there is a large amount of Pikmin underneath it.
Purple Pikmin are so good. They are beasts man. They just destroy with extreme prejudice
Doing this level a dweevile walked off the cliff carrying all my white pikmin. I lost 15 of the 25. Still I’m going to push through now that I know what’s ahead! Thank you
One time a bumbling snitchbug captured 2 of my purples and threw them off the edge. My luck sucks.
i hate it when the bomb rocks spawn out of nowhere also when the dweevil fell into the abyss in sublevel 6 i laughed so hard it’s like: well im done bye bye 😂
I’d say this, submerged castle, Hole of Heroes and Dream Den (only for its boss) are the toughest caves of this game
Hole of Heroes boss (raging long legs) is easy if you have patience and if you know when to whistle your pikmin.

How come I've never knew that there were rest floors in Pikmin 2? it's so wierd...I've been a fan for a few years, and I've only discovered it now
Maybe it never really clicked with you that they were supposed to be "rest" floors and you just saw them as another floor?

Those stupid captain grabbing snitchbugs are the worst. I kept getting stunlocked because both captains would be grabbed and because there was two it was impossible to whistle your pikmin in time. Genuinely the worst cave so far.
the munge dweevil with a treasure ended his own life on purpose (what a beautiful site) (and yes i hate all the enemies from every pikmin game that much!!!!!!)
Fun fact: i had more deaths in this cave than in the submerged castle

Red pikmin are useful in situations with LOTS of fire, and if you are scared to bring out your priceless purples out for a situation that is too packed (red pikmin’s damage makes up for the purple pikmin).
Yeah. I NEVER use reds after the first few days in each game (after day 2 in Pikmin 1, day 4 in Pikmin 2, and day 3 in Pikmin 3). I love to challenge myself. Plus, Chuggaaconroy mentioned how useless they are outside of the first game...
I do deathless runs in the second and third games. I can’t do that in the first game because 1. I have a Wii but not a GameCube, and 2. That darn crushing glitch.

It walks around, though, this is already one of the more dangerous bosses in the game. But I'm up for it, man, if they wanna make it even harder.

Sometimes in metallic caves the next floor entrance will spawn near the ledge and glitch through the ledge. When you enter the next floor, during the animation pikmins will falsely fall to their death, you will even hear death sound but they are not actually dead. However they will count as dead pikmins in the cave ending screen and on the journey's statistic screen.

I can just answer that here, it's because the Gatling Groink that held one on floor 7 didn't spawn.
How the hell did you hit him with purples they don’t reach at all they soar right below him
It's all in the throwing angle since it's a bit different with purples. Their highest altitude is right above your cursor so your cursor needs to be right below the boss. It's not a curve like with the other colors.

It's down to the last three in Wistful Wilds, but I personally don't find one much harder than the other two. I guess the Dream Den since it has that annoying water sublevel with a gatling groink?
@@Hawlo i agree the dream den is absolutely the hardest cave because i arrived there for the first time and skipped all the enemies in each sublevel (don’t know why) and that was where i encountered the titan dweevil glitch remember? it also happened in submerged castle 3 waterwraiths showed up and there was this glitch and they went out of bounds in the level in sync don’t know what happened there but they didn’t attack my pikmin and one of the waterwraiths rollers were wedged into a corner and it was stuck for like a minute then it continued to chase me but it didn’t attack my pikmin
Try a no death run while bringing 100 pikmin (70 for Emergence Cave and 95 for Hole of Beasts and White Flower Garden)
