- In this part, we fully explore the fourth area of the game, The Distant Spring, over three days. Being the last full area, its difficulty level is quite high.
The monsters here are ruthless, and half of the world is comprised of water areas.

16:10 It also seems worth mentioning that the Smoky Progg has a unique behaviour. Notice how it was completely ignoring Olimar and the Pikmin... Instead choosing to _make a direct beeline for the Onions._ Not only does the Progg's poison instantly kill any Pikmin it touches, but the Progg also has the incredibly unique ability to *_uproot planted Pikmin sprouts,_* something it _will_ do if you have any planted sprouts around your Onions.
The Distant Spring became the Perplexing Pool in Pikmin 2. It had bulbears, yellow frogs, shearwigs, water dumples, and swooping snitchbugs.
And the same happens with the other boards in pikmin 2
@@alejandrogomezlopez1417 yep. Impact Site and Final Trial became the Wistful Wild, Forest of Hope became Awakening Wood, and the Forest Navel was reskinned as a Mission Mode map in Pikmin 3.

Started playing pikmin3 on my switch and loved it. I got my old WIIU out and downloaded pikmin 1 and 2. They seem harder to manage than 3, so thanks so much for the help.

Ah, frostum culling at its finest.
The Repair-type Bolt barely goes outside of the camera's range and it doesn't get rendered, preventing the Pikmin that are carrying it from tumbling.

The beautiful part of the distant spring is you can get through it without killing a single wollywog haha
actually there is a way to beat the smoky prog without loosing pikmin that's easy all you need is 11 yellows (make sure they all have bomb rocks) lead the smoky prog to one of the pikmin onions (make sure there are no pikmin sprouts in the ground or the smokey prog will bring them up and kill them) throw one yellow near it let it throw its bomb rock rinse and repeat until the smoky prog dies

An even easier method I've seen is to set up a bunch of bomb rocks under the yellow onion by getting some yellows armed with bomb rocks and sending all but one back into the onion. When the Smoky Prog is over the bombs throw the remaining yellow, and it will throw it's bomb rock, causing all the others to go off and instantly killing the Smoky Prog.
Nintendo did so good with the music in the first 2 games.
I always like listening to it. Pikmin 2's my favourite soundtrack.
You can get the Massage Machine, UV Lamp, Pilot’s Seat, and the Bowsprit all without having the Blue Onion.
The Distant Spring can be completed with Blue and Yellow Pikmin. Red Pikmin are useless unless you want to fight enemies.

The black bullborbs, I usually throw a little bit of Pikmin after they die I do it again over and over yes, the little ones are annoying to get
I find the bulbear’s animation funny when they shake the Pokémon off in this game.

I can see what you mean by overwhelming in the beginning of this video. The Distant Spring is the most flawed area in the whole series to me. It's tedious, filled with the two most annoying enemies the game has to offer, and the layout makes it annoying to traverse.
Really? I found it really fun. The complex tasks were nothing like the type of thing you would find in forest of hope or the forest navel and it felt like a breath of fresh air. And anyway, it’s only hard to traverse before you break walls and build the bridges. Anyway, you should’ve had loads of blues coming out of the forest navel, which can traverse to most areas after some help from other colours. And what are the two most annoying enemies?
At first it can be tedious, but once you know the layout of the area and plan your day, this area can be cleared without killing any major enemies. In a 9 day run, the area can be done in two days all you have to worry is about killing the Swooping Snitchbugs and a few Water Dumples since most parts in this area can be gathered safely as long as the camera stays out of sight of enemies and the northern stone gate is destroyed.
This made this level so much less terrifying lmao

While you get in distant spring with 9 days, i get there with 12, i know its not too much but i still don't know how you get the ship parts so quick
(Edit:maybe is because you know where they are and is more quick do move and cordenate the pikmins, scared to let my pikmin to long alone in a place with enemies)

Yeah, I used Dolphin 5.0 and a Gamecube Controller. My PC was pretty bad at this time, I couldn't run any other game on Dolphin, only Pikmin and Pikmin 2. But I didn't mess with the configurations at all. Maybe try disabling/enabling dual core? It's one of the first options in config.

If you actually watch Chuggaaconroy's Video when he gets this, (i think its Pikmin: Day 11) he says that the fact it's called the Pilot Seat and its what he sits on, apparently Olimar needs it to take off properly cause if he doesn't have it he feels like he can't take off. So yeah thats basically why its required
This game is so hard you need to have a high IQ to get all the parts before 30 days pass even with a wiki guide its still extremeley hard
I agree, for the first playthrough, but this is a game that is mastered through replays.
If you want something difficult, try beating the game in 6 days, which is the lowest possible record. My personal best used to be 16 days, but I managed to complete the game in 9 days and it took me *weeks* to figure out the correct strategy to reach the final area in time.
Day 8 on the Distant Spring is the stuff of nightmares.
@@Nyxael5845 I might've done it in 9 or 10 days a long time ago, it's definitely possible. 6 days is way too difficult for me, though also possible. But I think people do it on the european version that has a lower framerate.

Leave it for last, then count how many days you have left until 30, substract however many you think you will need for the final area, and then divide the remaining days by the amount of parts that are on the Distant Spring. Then just take it slowly and get as many parts as you need per day. So if you can take up to 10 days here, just make it your goal to get one part per day.

Why’d he bother raising over 800 pikmin when the max he will ever need is 300 pikmin (100 type of each pikmin), it’s a no death run so he doesn’t need to replace his deaths
