2 Free Addons for Blender: Remap and Remove

Two free addons you may find useful.
The first one walks through all the materials in your scene looking for the exact same image texture (no matter the name) and if it finds duplicates, it remaps them all to a single image texture. You can then use Recursive Unused Data Blocks under the File: Clean Up menu to remove the files from your scene. This gives you more memory for rendering and may also make the viewport faster as well.
The second one removes all those .blend1 backup files that take up tons of space on your hard drive. You can choose to remove only .blend1 files in the currently open files directory, or you can also have it delete all the .blend1 files in the subdirectories as well.
Both of these tiny utilities show up on the Edit panel in the N-panel. They are very small and take little to no memory themselves and report what's happening in the console as well.
