Junkman over here making Huey Lewis sound like he's Chinese.
My brothers had Temple of Doom.
Yeah they largely ended up being worthless, but they were fun to collect anyway. And the gum was included so they could sell them as candy in the candy aisle.
We used to get most movie cards from the Ice cream truck. They used to come in"Grab Bags."For a quarter, you get candy, a pack of cards, and a random toy.
Was obsessed with the Jaws 2 cards, and almost chipped a tooth on that rock-hard stick of gum!
Hahah! :)
AIDS and Good Times trading
cards together. :)
I had ALF cards when I was a little kid.
I got those Magnum P.I. cards a couple years ago from my dealer. I miss that show.
If I'm not mistaken, they made the Batman movie right after the first season wrapped up, but released it in 1969 after the series was canceled.
Thanks for the video
Did you say “E.T. The extra testicle?”
I collected The Dark Crystal cards. Then there were the PAC Man cards with the scratch off games.
My favorites will always be the Garbage Pail Kids and the gum that came with each pack wasn’t very good though, it seemed kinda stale and brittle.
Yeah, that was mine as well. They came out at the perfect age of 11 - 13 for me to fall in love with them. Something about that time really embraced the gross-out culture and it was awesome.
If I were locked in prison & my only way out was to guess this mystery trading card theme...I don't think I'd ever even stumble upon diseases.
AIDS?!?!?
I love lemon AIDS :)
When life gives you AIDS, prop up yer feet and watch the sun go down.
I had a kick thinking of what kind of cards would be in there. Lots of great, inappropriate jokes to be had.
@@stephenthomas1492 I'll trade you 3 Ryan Whites for your silver foil Freddie Mercury.
@@stephenthomas1492 apparently my joke was too inappropriate as it's not here anymore. Idk about this anymore. I was simply talking about trading this celebrity name for that name. I guess naming 2 people with a condition triggered a sensitivity alarm and was deemed unsuitable for consumption by a program. Unreal.
Before Star Wars cards I loved collecting the 1976 King Kong movie cards. Didn't even get to see that movie back then, but I sure did love those cards!
Somebody just gave me full collections of Star Wars, Close Encounters and Battlestar Galactica. They are still in the box! Who did that back then? My originals were torn open immediately and we didn't get a full box.. we got one pack!
My uncle had some Star Wars cards from 1977? No Bubble gum or stickers just some loose cards detailing the special effects on the back on the card. He gave them to me, maybe I have them in a draw or box somewhere.
I remember my aunt (who age wise was more "cool older cousin") had a "Welcome Back Kotter" pack. Why didn't the "Growing Pains" pack have young Leo DiCaprio on the crappy illustration?
I didn't know about most of these! I would probably have bought a bunch of them, like Jaws 2, Indiana Jones, Knight Rider, and Superman. It's probably a good thing I didn't know about Supergirl trading cards. I had a real crush on Helen Slater...
I have a full set of "Leave it to Beaver" cards. Bought them from Joe at "Atlantis Fantasy World" where "Lost Boys" was filmed.
Wadda mean???...Helen was fine as fuck...And Ernest T Bass ..He was great
I just started collecting the Sopranos trading cards, pretty easy to find .
I guess I’m the only one buying
Wacky Packages from the 70s 👍
I'm a 90s kids I had Pokémon. It was the same for us. But it got so bad schools had to band the cards from school grounds. Funny looking back now. Blows me away the price of some of cards now crazy
There was an Adam West/Burt Ward Batman feature film released theatrically in the 60s. The reason Junk is unaware is because IT TOTALLY SUCKS ASS! Most hilarious part of the video: Junk introduces the ABBA cards and then just puts his head in his hands for several seconds 😂😂🤣
I was such a dork that I had Welcome Back Kotter trading cards in 1976.
They still make TCGs of everything. Infact, Curious.
Ok so I google'd Shin Megami Tensei trading cards. They exist.
Comprehensive. 👏 Did you forget Columbo?? I remember the KISS cards although we didn't really like the music. My ma told me to buy several packs to complete the back sides puzzle. We did!!! Good memories.
Floyd The Barber is a good Nirvana song and yes Kurt Cobain was a huge Andy Griffin fan.
I make a living selling all these non-sports cards, garbage pail kids and, lunch box leftovers
Junkman I know you do not like Garfield, But how do you feel about Heathcliff? Also my only trading cards i had as a kid was Garbage Pail Kids
I known it's not positive. Heathcliff came 1st and isn't a lazy lasagna Monday whiner. He's out on the streets, hustlin'.
@@shanester1832 Heathcliff debuted September 3, 1984 and Garfield Came out in 1978.
Heathcliff 1st published in 1973, Garfield 1976.
Garfield is spoiled and lazy with a weak spineless owner and a dumb dog friend.
Heathcliff is a rascal troublemaker with a hot babe. F'n s up old school.
@@shanester1832 Guess my research was not complete
A Kmart Garfield
Great stuff. I bought Star Trek and Star Wars. Never saw the Knight Rider cards but I would have totally bought those ones. Pompos Narrator was hilarious
I've been collecting unopened wax packs lately, they bring back all kinds of good memories 🥰
I had Star Wars, Superman, and garbage pail kids. Later I the 90s, I had Marvel Universe and Star Wars galaxy. I don't think junkman likes the turtles 😂
FINALLY. SOMEONE IS DOING CLIP ON MY FAVORITE STUFF. THATS RIGHT. TRADING CARDS WERE THE BOMB.... MORE VIDEOS PLEASE....
I had the Ninja turtles cards. The AIDS cards was a terrible idea, especially encouraging kids to trade AIDS. 😆
I had Star Wars, Empire, and Jedi, trading cards, I had and think somewhere in my collection some KISS cards, my mom had Elvis, Beatles and Grease cards. And I even have Hustler Trading Cards Larry Flynt was the best and missed, and still have them, they are Awesome, Believe Me. 😃😃😃👍👍👍
The gum was nasty.I still have my star wars trading cards.
I had the complete set on Dukes of Hazzard cards!
That Damn Gum 😂. Good Times.
Garbage pail kids were the currency in my school in 87 .
That was the challenge to open them without ripping the wrapper
I have
The Bionic Woman
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and
Mass Murderers to name a few
I have the Jaws 3 cards, that are in 3D like the movie.
ET the extra testicle made me legit laugh out loud.
The painting on that AIDS card is super disturbing.
I still have my collection of Charlie’s Angels cards!
Didn't have any of those cards.
LOL, If you think Cindy Lauper is bad, they also had TWO series's of Micael Jackson trading cards but no trading card series of Michael Jackson's Weekend Sleepover Boys.....lol. ABBA music sucked, swinging couples swinging more than singing, but you could at least cut out the portions of the cards of the blonde and throw the rest of the cards in the trash.
I had some Dukes of Hazzard.
new game for Russ: read the caption from a card and Russ has to guess the title of the movie/show.
Love it
@@ThatJunkman of course, it might be easier if you read multiple card captions from a checklist card as reading one might be too difficult. Start with one caption, and instead of giving hints, you can only read another caption from a different card. I like the idea that the checklist card could actually have some other use.
Think they were called wax packs cos the packets they came in were waxy
Thanks Junkman great video. If the people that that had AIDS collected those cards, would they live long enough to get the whole set.
Awwwwwww man no Star Wars cards what’s up with that????
Jabba is Star Wars
Well... the Magnum PI kinda sticks out as substantially less cool as the others 🤔🤔🤔 And yes, by that I mean that AIDs is cooler and more interesting than Tom Selleck 😂🤣🤣
Yyyyeeeeeeeesssssssss trading cards 💳 are awesome 😎
Aids trading cards wtf I had ro stop and Google em and yup there you go 😂
ABBA Rules!!
RETARDO!!
Also sports cards are gay hahaha 😝
Wax Packs because the packs were sealed with wax.
Many times the wax leaked into the pack and ruined the bottom card. And the gum would ruin the top card in almost every pack.
I colleted the Ninja Turtles cards.
The Batman 1966 t.v. series had a movie. Batman vs. Penguin, Riddler, Joker & Catwoman.
Cards were easy to make & cheap license to buy. Slap a pop culture picture on a card & see if they would sell.
