  • Alright guys, so this is by FAR the most common topic I am asked about!

This is a subjective and open topic that doesn’t have a “this or that, yes or no” type answer.

It all comes down to personal preference and likes.

It’s common and normal that club level players will find a range of equipment that they think works for them well.

So if you are not sure about what is good for you: try around and see what you like.

No rubber will be perfect. For example if I pick a blade with more control, I can’t expect it will have the best power in the world.

If I pick a very fast rubber with more speed, I can’t expect it will have the best control in the world.

However, I do believe playing with fast rubbers like Tenergy/Dignics and then learning to play with them and control it better over time, is a great path to go with (and more fun 😊).

For those wondering what I think of the rubbers from other companies than butterfly. Sorry but I’m not really able to give you a proper answer because I’ve played with Butterfly ever since I was old enough to see over a table.

Would I recommend beginners/intermediate level players to start with fast rubbers? Watch the video and find out 😉.

My setup: Tenergy 05 hard (forehand) + Dignics 05 (backhand) and Petr Korbel Blade.

Thank you for sharing your insights. I agree with you, when it comes to equipment, there is really no perfect answer. One says follow this and the other say no, use this instead. Maybe at the end of the day, the best equipment is the one that feels right into one’s hand. So the best of one person is different to the best of the other. I understand now that what is important is to get an equipment that one can afford, particularly the most people recommend, give it sometime, like train with it first for two to three months at least, and if it allows you to improve when there is proper training and guidance of a coach, then stick to that equipment. Otherwise, just find and check other options again. Thank you for taking time making these videos. God bless you and stay safe and healthy.

Hi! I follow your videos from Chile. I like very much the Petr Korbel blade, but now I use the Sk Carbon. Maybe I'll go back to the petr korbel, it has more feeling. Best regards

It would be great if you could share some tips on how to improve footwork, while we are stuck at home.

I am an intermediate, almost advanced, amateur player who wants to build his own racket with proper blade and FH and BH rubbers.
I play mainly over the table with loops and short strokes also close-to-the-net game. I am searching for some rubbers that can give me spin for good serves and that can block the ball properly and at the same time loop fast and with High arc over the net, spinny topspin. What would you suggest me? Budget around $150.
