Hi Ariane, I am still binge-watching your vids as time allows . This one had my eyes popping out 😂🤣😂🤣😂 So much gorgeousness !!!!!!!! You are AMAZING 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 TFS XXXXXXXX 😘😘
I really enjoyed your tour of you space and projects. So creative. I woke up this morning and sat in my rocking chair to stitch on my circles and turned on your you tube channel. What a delight to be in your space. I really enjoy all your videos. Great work and worth the time and energy. I also like being in New York with you. I have never been there but it is on my list. Don't edit out all those New York sounds. .
Peggy McCall Thank you Peggy. Once things calm down a little I will take everyone on a little walk where we can look at all the beauty that inspires here in NYC!
@@ArianeZurcher212 I live in Canada but I have an uncle who lives in New York. He is an illustrator for the New Yorker. (Bruce McCall). My favorite book ever is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. The imagery of New York is so vivid. Take care and keep on creating!
Isn't it great to be able to start with a number of simple stitches and make all this amazing work. Stitching is such a great way to calm the soul. it is inspirational to see how other use the combinations of stitches and color to create your own version of work. Lefties and Righties take different paths but are all on the same road. Thanks for the tour!
Ariana, I am quite new to the embroidery world, but I thoroughly enjoy your videos. You are amazing!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I’d love to know more about virtual classes when you offer them. Thank you. JP
Hi Jack, wonderful! I’m hoping my new website will be fully operational sometime next week! I will certainly talk about it once it is. I’ve been doing virtual workshops since this past fall and really love them. We have a lot of fun and I would love for you to join us in one. In the meantime, subscribe, if you haven’t already as I will be doing at least one video about the new website and how to sign up for workshops.
Thank you very much for your generous sharing throughout all your wonderful videos. I came across your demo vids as I explored my new passions of fabric painting & (novice steps) into wool applique on RUclips. Not only do your vids go a long way in helping me build my skill set but I find them so relaxing. Your calm voice & thoughtfully reflective approach are fabulous as are your creative & purposeful work. Thank you, again.
Ariane you're a treasure trove of inspiration. I have so many threads, fabrics, beads and supplies lying unused because I'm not naturally very creative and there are so many styles of embroidery/quilting I have yet to try and love all the variety of stitch books I keep looking through/referring to especially my RSN ones. The latest in my collection (thanks to watching Anna) are Sue Spargo's 'Creative Stitches' and Lisa Bonjean's 'Wool, Needle and Thread'. You are bringing a lot of Sue's embroidery stitches to life. I'm now catching up watching your earlier videos. I'm going to need your world of colour this winter. I'll try to keep any comments shorter in future but it's so good to meet an embroiderer even at a distance! Thank you.
I love your work. It is so colourful. I have just started to make little fabric art panels and I found your work very inspirational. Thank you for sharing.
Wowsers! I loved the tour! You are so talented in mixed media and art..I love that you need color in your life since I am a color person too. I think that everyone needs their own space whether it’s large or small. I have a sew room and it truly is my happy place. No matter what goes on when I go in there I am at peace. Thank you for sharing yours!
Yeah the tour of AZ's amazing projects, and work space. I find your work is so interesting, inspiring, and intricate. Thank you for sharing only missing was Merlin ! I have the pattern for your larger of bags, need to print it out and get supplies. But it is wonderfully detailed. When I get going I may have a few follow up questions! Take care, Barb

Oh Darlene, I'm not very organized when it comes to any threads other than the eleganza threads. My "organization" consists of large ziplock bags, which I then toss into a large drawer in my Koala cabinet. It's a mess and I'm constantly rummaging around trying to find things. ❤️

I used a paint that I purchased from Pro Chem, but now I typically use Inktense and/or Caran D'ache water soluble pastels as they don't change the hand of the fabric and I'm usually doing quite a bit of hand stitching on the fabric that I paint.❤️ Inktense: amzn.to/3sbbynm Caran D'ache Water soluble: amzn.to/3uoJSxV
Only 7:10 a.m. here in Arkansas and am enjoying your tour with my cup of coffee! You are so very talented. All your projects are very pretty! The vase quilt is spectacular. Hard to choose as all your projects are. Have a good day and thank you for sharing. Do you cut your penny circles by hand? What technique do you use ? I have been tracing circles with ink pen but difficult to see ink on dark wool. Going to draw some today onto freezer paper and fuse to my wool then cut out.
I used to use the wool punches, that Sue sells on her site and then I saw her use her Crossover Die Cut Machine and that was it for me, I've never looked back. It's an investment, but boy was it worth it!! I'm doing a video demonstrating that machine next week.
Thank you so much for the tour. You have no idea how much you have inspired me. My mind is spinning. Are your wool appliqué pieces all done on wool or a combination of wool and fabric? Thx again.
Freda Cott I’m so pleased you enjoyed seeing it and feel inspired! Mostly on wool, but some are a combination of wools and cottons. The big painted pieces are all cotton.
Okay Ariane...I’ve just subscribed to your wonder channel. Recommended to me by a fellow stitching enthusiast. My question is not needle, thread or technique related at all. 😏 rather wondering if you’d be willing to give me the name of the lipstick you use? It looks so natural and fresh!! Hope this isn’t too personal. If so, just ignore! Thanks!
Hahaha! Love this question!! Okay, so I actually had to go look, because I had no idea, and then I had to look at it through a magnifying glass because I couldn't see any indication of manufacturer or anything else. However, after all of that I was able to find a little CG printed on the metal band around the tube, which I'm guessing is "Cover Girl" and the number on the bottom of the tube is 533. Other than that, I have no other information. Oh except that it's made in Ireland, which I thought interesting! Ask me about a thread color and I have the info memorized, lipstick, not so much... ❤️😂❤️
Ariane Zurcher - On the Other Hand well, thank you for the info! I just thought it looks so natural yet a bit of color. My coloring is similar to yours, so I’m going to attempt to hunt it down! Blessings!
In this piece I was using a base of felted wool and layering with a whole variety of different fabrics such as dupioni silk, silk velvet, cotton, ribbon, etc.
Hi Ariane, I love your tutorials and walks around New York. I'm a righty, but almost ambidextrous. I like that you show things multiple times, up close and well lit. I also like that you share the name and color of the thread you are using. I was wondering if you are familiar with Laura Wasilowski's hand dyed thread at artfabrik.com/hand-dyed-pearl-cotton-thread/ ? I'm a quilter, so I became familiar with Laura's thread in a workshop many years ago. I especially like the color, "Japanese Irises". Love your cat, Deb
I can't either. With my needle roll design, I decided to film me making it while following the directions and I get veering off, doing things out of order... it became a running joke. ❤️
