Nice to see good equipment being used. Here in fire-recovery Redding, CA, there are lots of guys running around with a chain saw and WWII chippers. It's also a time to point out that earlier pruning would have been cheaper in the long run.
That's what I was thinking too. Earlier tree care would have saved the home owner from having to deal with this. Texas Oaks grow like that here in San Antonio and I have seen so many get the chop because no one took the time to prune the tree as is grew.
Sad to see so much wonderful wood wasted. I know, firewood and mulch, but I bet there was so awesome figured wood in that ol’ tree. Thanks for sharing your experiences. No structures damaged, etc. Too many just go at it with the saws risk damaged property.

I swear I saw your double cutting down a huge oak tree on the square in Marietta, GA today. Love your videos. Love to see skilled tradesmen at their calling. Be the ball.
I would love to know how much all that wood weighed! The tree was definitely a death trap, it always seems so harsh to cut a tree down but you have to sometimes!
I've come back to watch these again now that I have more time put in watching your videos. I love that you start this with an explanation and set expectations. On a side note, when I was in the Army we tried to do things "half slow" because the officers hated it when we did things "Half Fast."

People with brains, using their brains and telling a story all while making happen Capt'n !!! I like to watch those stories come to fruition...came from part 1.
It just burns me to see all the firewood go to waste and get chipped ever since those Godzilla wood chippers came out. Any logs for milling out of this tree?
@@beckywatt5048 What does your reply about maintenance of wood chippers or how nice they are, have to do with my comment about firewood going to waste or wondering if any logs for milling out of this tree? I said nothing about maintenance of wood chippers or how nice they are. I see firewood going to waste whenever a tree company is doing a job and firewood goes into the chipper. I know the chippers are a time saver but, still a lot of firewood wasted.
Somebody has to be there RIGHT THEN to take the wood. I’ve been given free firewood and free wood chips because I showed up at the right time and asked, saved them a trip to the dump. Taking peace offerings of Cokes and cold bottled water is a nice gesture, too.
I love woodworking, and it sucks so many trees can't be used for milling. The fact that it costs too much time and money to do it with every tree that gets cut is a huge bummer.
In Part One I heard you say - They want wood for firewood .... I See one HELL OF A LOT OF GOOD WOOD , just being shredded ! ??? FOR OAK and Black Oak at that . . What a Damn Shame and Waste . Aren't at least One of you into woodworking ?
I can understand needing to shred some of the tree, there is no way to economically harvest any of the wood under 10" or so. but it breaks my heart to see some of the wood being turned into mulch. Black walnut is such a precious wood, Why?
It amazes me how these tree cutters, though knowledgeable at their trade can be " So Ignorant " about [ the value of ] wood ! ? @ 0:28 they are loading a [ what looks to be 16 ( inch diameter ) x 20 ft. ] branch " Into a Chipper ? ! " Talk about Stupid " !! Black Oak in 2018 - 2019 went for $ 0.75 to $ 1.50 per clear cut log / Twice as much for Veneer [ & that's on the Cheep ] !! The Log shown above at [ the modest ] price of 40 ft x prices above = $ 30. - $60 as is . $ 60. - $ 150 as veneer ! Live and Learn ! Milling the wood ? ! If you can't do it yourself , find somebody who can , and hire them ! Or Sell It !!
Loved the way you birdmouthed the lower limbs so that they didn't just fall away when you cut through, gave the crane operator the opportunity to get the balance right before moving the load.
The tree next to it sue looks bare once the oak is gone. The crane operator and the placement of the ropes made a very smooth drop. No pinching the saw sometimes he had to double check to make sure he was all the way through. I used to do tree work but would have passed that to someone with the right equipment. You guys are the best of the best.also liked that you knew when to quit.(I had trouble with that one, worked until dark many nights.)
Cracking job by your team, fair play. So many property planners nowadays, especially those who build a house and then plant trees nearby, still don't put any thought whatsoever as to how big many trees can grow over time. A home should never be put near trees that grow well above the height of a house, flats / apartments. And as some other people have pointed out, the sheer weight of just one of those branches, it's bloody bonkers!
As a small business owner of a much less hazardous business I can imagine your liability and workers comp costs What you’re doing is so dangerous I was cringing watching lol. You guys do amazing excellent work. This was fascinating hats off to you manly men!
That crane work is so amazingly fast, I've been trying to talk the powers that be into going all "Hunickie" we did a maple in a day, over a house, half dead with a bucket and a vermeer bc900... Cut the rest into rounds. Thankfully we didn't haul the wood. Was 5.5 foot on the stump and 8.5 foot at the main crotch. That oak made it look small! 4 guys, one day... One trellace destroyed! Crane would have saved the trellace!
@Mr Sunshines in the first video, the homeowner asked for the tree to be saved. . . . In the first video the homeowner said the woodchip and all the big logs were to be left on the property to be used for firewood. The homeowner did ask that the logs and chip were moved to a specific place. . . . . Then these guys reverse that and take the entire tree down, when only the side which had split needed to be cut back. Add in the first video the amount taken off on the first day, had been enough for the split side to spring back to such a point where it couldn't be seen. It only needed the branches that were still overhanging the house to be removed, and it would have been just fine. It would have healed itself at the split in a while. There really was no need to take down a magnificent tree such as that against the owners wishes. I really hate people naysaying what the client (ie the homeowner wants). It really is rude.
Been watching your videos for a couple years now and I got to say I like the split screen on this video. Not sure its been done like this much. Small corner box picture in picture but not split two ways or four way box screens for angles of every shot and pic. And the chipper timer was a great touch..
Great video, good angles, perfect lighting, good volume. But the transition effect gets annoying after the 3rd or 4th time. I can't say anything about the tree removal itself except WOW. Obviously real pros. 👍

@Brexit Monger 10 familys for one year is horse shit
@@tank2449 ya I live off 3 trees a year on my home stead in the winter, So to say it would be enough for 10 familys is way off. Edit: Although I never used trees of this size when i collect mine from around back, so im not too sure how long this wood would last.
Super impressed with your work - the care and precision in lowering the huge segment of the massive tree was outstanding 😃👌👌👏👏👏
And now Damien steals the spotlight with those awesome picks and cuts! Well Done Sirs. Be Well
I have dropped lots of trees and I am totally impressed. I cut fire wood In the past. And worked 25 years in a sawmill. Never worked a timber crew. Was lumber grader. Firewood every day off.
That leaning oak that you pulled with the truck was awesome.
TED C thanks Ted 😀
Amazing precision on the limb removal and the iPhone catch too
That iPhone catch had me gasping for breath and my eyes were about 2 sizes bigger than normal.
Well it was also an excellent pitch.
I've seen clip one now clip two looking forward to clip three, you guys are an amazing crew. Great job, that is a great big tree. 👍👍
Best takedown I've seen in years. (The boom truck needs its own channel! 😂)
I have to say you guys are unbelievable you are tree surgeons I mean with Precision cutting dropping those big tree limbs that was absolutely amazing I've had a lot of trees cut in my yard large trees Red Oak and things of that nature that will probably 10 ft in diameter and I know tree cutters when I see him you guys have absolute amazing skills I just pray that you fellows always remain safe and that none of you ever get hurt God bless all of you and thank you for the videos.
Thank you.
Really interesting! And you guys got some skills! It was fun to watch. :-)
Excellent work on that monster tree. The video was great, I can't imagine how much work you put in to make it so good. Seen the first part now I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of it comes down.
Hey I just thought that some of those tree like branches could’ve been repotted with some Rootone to get them to root!
Each 'branch' is the size of a full grown tree! Monster oak. Amazing job by the whole crew.
I love watching your videos I've been watching 4 years you put so much time into your videos they're absolutely awesome if you don't want to spend as much time with the camera equipment just strap a GoPro to your head or to one of your crew you don't have to talk all the time either yes it's nice to listen to you talk about the job but if you don't have the time just do a helmet cam video once in a while then do longer videos where you talk about it I know it's your channel and and it's up to you but it's just an opinion thanks for the great content
I swear I saw your double cutting down a huge oak tree on the square in Marietta, GA today. Love your videos. Love to see skilled tradesmen at their calling. Be the ball.
PlumbsmartPaul We are all related. 😁
I would love to know how much all that wood weighed! The tree was definitely a death trap, it always seems so harsh to cut a tree down but you have to sometimes!
It was such a beautiful tree but it would have turned that house into matchsticks in the blink of an eye. Boom!
I've come back to watch these again now that I have more time put in watching your videos. I love that you start this with an explanation and set expectations. On a side note, when I was in the Army we tried to do things "half slow" because the officers hated it when we did things "Half Fast."
Thanks for always commenting.
Yeah that's a Big Ol Tree. Good thing you bought a crane. Crane haters standing across the street watching you take it down! Hahaha
Great job with beautiful cuts and picks
Can you imagine if the movie Fargo used that chipper...
Thinking that myself. Scary!
Lol ! Omg Fargo ewwwwww
Oh you betcha
So the MOD best customer ever...!!!
😆😆😆
Great job and great video. I'd like to see a video on how you tie up the branches to break the fall.
I had a bid to remove a large white oak near my house, including a third-party buyer for the wood. That was three years ago. The tree is still there.
And the problem is getting bigger? :-p
Gotta say the guy who tied the knots knew what he was doing. Excellent video. I could picture a bunch of beavers looking at it and eat popcorn...
It’s a shame the home owners didn’t save some of this wood. They could have piled it up and gotten some wood workers to use it.
Man your chipping a lot of good fire wood
You sir, are quite the juggler !, just the pieces/parts that you care to share indicate that you, indeed have a lot of moving parts in your operation(both literally and figuratively !!!). People with brains, using their brains and telling a story all while making happen Capt'n !!! I like to watch those stories come to fruition...came from part 1.
Thanks
It just burns me to see all the firewood go to waste and get chipped ever since those Godzilla wood chippers came out. Any logs for milling out of this tree?
Joseph l frazier Those chippers are nice but require a lot of maintenance, and if you don't , woh be to you , when they break they are big bucks .
Part 1# of this video . Client is taking all of the wood, chips and firewood.
I love woodworking, and it sucks so many trees can't be used for milling. The fact that it costs too much time and money to do it with every tree that gets cut is a huge bummer.
Great team work guys. Making what would be a nightmare for the client a big problem solved
Black walnut is such a precious wood, Why?
ok after 4 minutes, I'm done. it hurts too much. If I missed something or misjudge please forgive and let me know it was worth watching.
@@violentblue123 It's a black oak, not walnut. Oak trees are a dime a dozen.
@@crayfish9945 And yet no lumber mill is sending trucks out to pick up these logs at no cost. There is a reason: Not economical.
These are amazing jobs. 🙀
Bet you get the tingles every now & then.
Gonna call my tree service poor man tree trimming now I see how the other half live just joking proud of you guys
Drive a '73 F150 that's been paid off for 45 years instead of a 2020 F350 King Ranch, and a crane becomes affordable.
Really nice view of the hole team at it's finest thank you for sharing MBT
12:24 he cut a shelf for his phone, yeah safe to say I’m not disappointed by your “lots of work to do no time for a cool video” video.
Jax Turner hahaha ya IG stories simultaneous.
Loved the way you birdmouthed the lower limbs so that they didn't just fall away when you cut through, gave the crane operator the opportunity to get the balance right before moving the load.
To all the fat little squirrels in the neighborhood I'm sorry for your loss 🐿
The tree next to it sue looks bare once the oak is gone.
The crane operator and the placement of the ropes made a very smooth drop. No pinching the saw sometimes he had to double check to make sure he was all the way through. I used to do tree work but would have passed that to someone with the right equipment. You guys are the best of the best.also liked that you knew when to quit.(I had trouble with that one, worked until dark many nights.)
Wow, what software do you use for your editing! Looks great!
You guys are amazing... I could watch you all day!
This job must have cost a few quid. The only crews with kit like that in the uk are local authorities. That chipper is a beast
It looks like a lot of firewood went into the chipper!
Morbark chippers are built in a VERY small town in Central Michigan.
Very cool to see what they do!!!
Bringing love to michigan companys ✌✌
Boop... what skills and artful timings... cheers!
That's a lot of wood. I hate to think of all the work it would be to chunk it down and carry it to the truck. Remember those days before the crane?
Yep
As a small business owner of a much less hazardous business I can imagine your liability and workers comp costs
What you’re doing is so dangerous I was cringing watching lol. You guys do amazing excellent work. This was fascinating hats off to you manly men!
Ain't nothing wrong with a little twig tickler😂😂
That looks a beautiful part of the world. Nice clean job lads!!
“Damien wants his iPhone back…” - thank god he didn’t ask for the chainsaw! Lol
I couldn't make a catch like that to save my life!!
At 5:45 that branch looks like a tree itself! Another tree @15:00! God this tree has to be old.
how old do you think it might be?
Wow amazing work on such a huge tree I impressed done very professionally nice job guy's. Big tree big money.
Just LOOK at all that good FIREWOOD being chipped !!! GASP !!!
It can still be used for gardening.
@Mr Sunshines Hundreds of miles away, what do you expect ?
@Mr Sunshines if being wrong were your objective, let's just say you're an overachiever
@Mr Sunshines All trolls lead with bullshit authority postures. It's not interesting.
: )
Watched pt 1 and pt 2 and have to give a thumbs up on the video production! That alone probably took an entire weekend, if not more.
