I'd been searching for months for a realistic DIY stained glass and they were all so hokey, I finally gave up. Today your video came up randomly. FINALLY! Someone who made this project easy and inexpensive, not to mention absolutely professional looking! Thank you so much!

You may have just saved me from a horrible fate. I've been constructing a natural build that's being filmed for a TV channel in the UK. The biggest window is to have stained glass in it, but I'm so out of practice as I haven't had a studio for years. The filmers don't care what's real.....they just want story and images, and I'm running out of time. This is a great method to speed things up (it'll still be on reused clear glass) and get me out of a hole 🙏

Magnificent! In my opinion, your choice of Pebeo Vitrail lead makes yours the very best faux stained glass look I've seen. Soooooooo much better than the thin, black plastic look of Plaid Gallery strips... which thankfully, have been sitting in my Amazon cart. But NOW Vitrail is in there!!! I've just learned that Vitrail is REAL lead. What a difference. Love your design. Hope my "Italian" style design comes out as well as yours. Thank you so much!

I found that when I went in thicker it didn't bubble anymore so I basically filled each section to almost overflowing. A few edges peeled up a tad and I just used super glue and it's holding up pretty well.

I love creativity❤ I love it when we get ideas to do some thing even though we may have never done it, we can totally dive into a project or multiple projects if you are a DIY person😂 I have an obsession with gold leaf. I have now discovered decoupage and did a vintage wall sconce that looks like a full size lamp with a shade that actually attaches to your wall and plugs in. Did you just feel so much more satisfied When you looked at your project and you know you did it…😊 I bet you did because it is absolutely beautiful.!!

I have probably viewed at least 30+ videos in the last week or so on faux stained glass, and your video was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I really did not want to invest in a ton of new paint powders, and more "things" to drive my husband batty. I already have quite the assortment of acrylic paint available because I do wooden yard art, can cut plexiglass with my jigsaw, and I have SplitPrint on my Mac to do the picture set-up. I just need to get the lead strips, and find that cool textured privacy film.
I wonder if it is best to apply that film over the plexiglass, then do the leading? I just wonder how well the leading would stick. Or even Gallery Glass' crystal clear product mixed into those areas instead of the film?

Thank you. I have been wanting to try this, but hadn't seen anything quite right. I really liked the fake leading you used. What is it called? Product name? And I have watched folks creating projects, but wanted more freedom and felt like I wanted to paint more... So I loved that you were able to blend the colours organically as felt right. Thank you for sharing about the need for thicker product in those centre areas. Sorry to hear they pulled away/bubbled, I really did love the colours, but the finished product is also stunning. Beautiful finished product... Gorgeous, band congratulations on a beautiful window, and great video. Thank you for sharing this with all of us fellow creative types :) have a great day

So gorgeous! I have a large piece of glass that was a door on an old entertainment cabinet that everyone had before flat screen tvs, and I've been holding onto it until I could figure out what to do with it. Finally settled on making a stained glass piece that I will hang on my porch (if I can figure out how to make it rain proof!). So far I like your technique the most. I just need to decide what design to make and find a way to frame this as well. Thank you for sharing how you redid that part of it. It's nice to know I have that option if I mess up or am not completely happy with a color.
