It's incredibly overwhelming & with its sheer size seems you'd feel all the more lonely thus desiring a shared experience. Truly, what good is this place if not shared? Spread the love. Now I just want to know wth kind of design he's been doing to afford this massive project & the current upkeep!

@@omg3320 Take what you have and make it beautiful for you!! Start with small touches, treat yourself with little joys of the day and slowly start to create the surrounding you want. I live in a tiny park model home in the middle of nowhere in the Arizona desert (which I'm not crazy about AT ALL) and am in the process of creating my own "chateau" and am LOVING it. It makes me feel so much more grateful for what I have and I can enjoy the creativity and success of others. Just some loving thoughts -- take care of yourself, treat yourself nice!

Where does one even start to think of having to leave all this to anyone who will care and love it as much as you do....sadly, if ever one had to. It would be like giving your soul away.
Yet ,oddly enough a lot of antiques would have at some time belonged to someone else, fortunately, to be given new life by those with an eye for , the precious, the beautiful, and the unique, as Timothy has done. Beautiful experience, thank you Timothy.

Restoring is simple. Just patch and clean. But what I truly admire is the way Tim has put everything together with such articulation for compatibility of things. And the garden is to die for. An eye opener for me. Thank you for your hospitality.

As a Scot living in France since over 40 years and having been witness to so much destruction and neglect I can honestly say 'thank god for Americans' ! And many Brits and several other nationalities who have invested time and money and bloody hard work in keep French history and culture alive to pass forward. Thank you all.

Yes, you can get some historical property like one of those chateau or castle very cheap but the local government will advise you to restore according to their plans - to keep it unique and according to the century. Not contemporary.

Beautiful restoration of a wonderfully elegant Chateau, although a little too "California" for my taste. One has to wonder though as to how large is M'sieu Corrigan's family..? Not really a "bachelor " pad is it..? Also how many full time staff does he employ...?

Thankfully, the French government protects these beauties as if they were little jewels, there are very strict regulations on what you can or cannot do to the place. They love it when people are willing to spend the millions of euros needed to restore these magnificent places, but they are also very conscious that they should remain as close to the original plans as possible.
