  • Few Bets. Big Bets. Infrequent Bets.
In his talk at the University of California at Irvine’s Paul Merage School of Business, Mohnish discusses five decisions by Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger over a 20-year period (1968 - 1988) that moved the needle for Berkshire. Mohnish also talks about some of the intense difficulties that Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger faced along the way. No pain, no gain!

As Albert Einstein said, if you can’t explain it simply you don’t understand it enough.
Mohnish is one of the incredibly rare humans whom understands a vast array of information so completely that he is able to discuss it in a simple and succinct way so as learners can be imbued with fractions of his wealth of wisdom. That is just one reason Mr Pabrai is one of my favourite people to study.

Very interesting idea on the tyre companies. They are also using the rubber in more applications such as my sports shoes which work better.

Buffett touched on why the Korean stocks are sold at such a discount and I believe a part of it has to do with the fact that they share a border with North Korea and the threat of nuclear weapons is always lingering.

How come market returns are so low. Putting 100000 dollar and getting just 285000 dollar out of it.
