i'm 27 and my knees are already f***ed jumping out of planes with 70lb packs and then humping 30 miles with 80-90 lbs total. And my back has 5 years max until I retire. Thanks uncle Sam.
As a 14 year old who wants to start competing but wants to put his health first (especially his knees, Osgood schlatters disease) do you think it's worth it?
Mid 40s here and I can attest. I recently pulled a lower back muscle after many years of lifting and I realize now that my body isn't what it used to be. Any preventive maintenance is money well spent. It takes less and less effort to get hurt the older we get.
You know, I really respect that you put timestamps and you are almost "quick" to the point. Almost like a really good essay. I really dislike some youtubers when they have a 'simple' question/answer video where it is 20 minutes long, and I have to search where the answer is. I love the timestamps and really makes it easier for the viewers. You got another sub
There have actually been studies showing training with a belt may increase core activation due to the ability to brace even harder than without the belt.
Also something else to consider with the no name lever belts. They use the cheapest levers they can source. I found one that was around 60$ I thought cool, looks like inzer at half the price....... Then 2 months in the lever completely cracked and broke apart in the middle of a heavy squat set. I almost injured me because I was bracing and it completely blew out . Luckily I was doing training max triples so I was able to get my bearings and finish the rep. They sent me a replacement lever but I don't trust it and it's been in my closet for over 3 years. I use a single prong belt that I love. If I ever tried another lever I would spend the extra for an inzer or another premium Brand like pioneer or best belts.
My SBD has never bled. Why skimp on a belt when it’s the last you’ll ever buy? Or you can go buy a bunch of belts for $100 each. The SBD belt has been the best investment I’ve made. Depending on how much I eat and drink, my weight can easily fluctuate around 10lbs in a day. Never had to even think twice about having to remove or adjust my belt. This argument is like buying a cheaper bar or rack because it does the same thing. It’s all about choices. No regrets with SBD
I respect you view but I’ve had my SBD belt for years and it’s been brilliant, still going strong and if it broke for any reason I would buy another one in a heartbeat. It’s true about the suede red bleeding on your shirts but I didn’t care because I wear scruffy shirts to the gym.
OK. This was the best review of belts I have seen. Informative, hit all the major and minor pts and nuances in between and backed up with evidence. Thank you very much for this quality review.
You’re seriously the best to watch man. The other dudes (which I also follow) are just for pure entertainment. I learn nothing from them tho... you’re the only one whom I can say I actually look and listen to and actually take your advice. Your vocabulary shows how intelligent you are. Please don’t stop.
Holy shit, I was just YouTubing which weightlifting is best and got a wave of nostalgia from this channel! I didn’t know Nick was still making RUclips videos, I used to watch him back in highschool.
If this is still relevant i had a pioneer cut 10 mm and i just got a sbd belt and me personally i like the sbd better, I prefer the 13 mm belt over the 10 and i like the lever better than the prong. Never had any experience with a 13 mm pioneer but I absolutely love the 10 mm i just prefer sbd
Bro, finally someone that nailed it! I've been lifting for man years with no belt and no problem. But I'm much older now and the body doesn't respond like it used to. I think a lifting belt would be very beneficial for me at my stage in life. I appreciate the breakdown of the types of belts. I'm going with a 10mm belt. Thanks!
Nick, I remember your videos from the OG RUclips years. I hated your videos. I recently switched from bodybuilding workouts to Olympic lifting /cross training. I’m now glad I was reintroduced to your channel - I’m now a new sub. Keep up the good work!
personally ive worn out my slingshot belt so much that it would bend while deadlifting and squating, that's why I switched to the 32mm lever because it just really helped out my back, just my own preference
Absolutely love this review, and thanks so much for the time stamps. Would love if you also did a review on singlets to...overall a fantastic and informative vid
Hey man, I know you said how you only get like 10-20k views. In RUclips terms yeah that’s a little shit. But imagine a 20k stadium full. A huge amount of people still loving the content !
You mention how an advantage of a prong belt is adjustability so you can make it looser for deadlifts and tighter for squats, but surely thats one of the big pros of the SBD belt over the Inzer? Lever belt that's adjustable? Kick ass video though, thanks
Thank you for this video.. I'm getting back into lifting and will be needing some support items like belt & knee support.. but I may go ahead And grab wrist support too
I recently got the Gangsta sleeves and I love them. Hands down the best knee sleeves out there. They aren't legal to ude in USPA, but it's not a big deal to me as I mostly compete in knee wraps. These sleeves give a lot more support and poptect my knee joint a lot better than the strong sleeves.
Pioneer also makes 36" wrist wraps with the belt loop thing. How can you recommend one company as having the best when you aren't even aware of what the industry is offering?
What do you expect of me!? Lol I'm just another lifter like you who happens to have tried a lot and done a lot lol. I left one brand out because I've never had a need to try it. There are hundreds of brands I didn't try or mention lol it's a video of my opinion based on experience as a lifter lol.
So...if preferring Inzer over SBD almost exclusively due to price...you'd need to include the cost of the SECOND belt needed to for deadlifts, since it's not feasible to adjust an Inzer twice every week to be both tight for squats and loose for deads. With an SBD you only need one belt that adjusts on the fly for a looser fit as needed. Worth at least the price of two Inzer's for this reason.
Gotta be grateful for people like Nick who constantly want to share their knowledge and be helpful when it comes to these topics when most people are just going to tell you 1-2 products/promote their sponsors!
I got the thiccer inzer lever belt.. I got bruised bad, I thought I didn't use it right. Glad to know others delt with my issue too. Also, I wear it only when I go heavy, Soo it's still not broken in and I've had it for about 17 months
The regular strong sleeves & sbd sleeves seem to last the last the longest. I bought the gangster sleeves. They have the most compression but ripped after 5 months. At 27cm they are shorter than the sbd sleeves. Doubt I will buy them again. The sbd stiff long wrist wraps are the best by far. Five years old & still good. Inzer is the best IMO.
I have no intention of competing but I’m thinking of getting some sleeves. I know SBD has gone back to their old formula, with the knee sleeves, but do you still prefer the gangsta sleeves?
Just viewing this 3 years later. Are you still using your inzer? SBD is at around $225.00 right now. Hasn’t come down much in 3 years. Is there anything better than the SBD lever right now? I love your videos. You’re very matter of fact and honest. You’re also to the point, I had videos loaded with fluff. Thanks!!
I outgrew my Inzer and use my STrong belts for EVERYTHING these days. SlingShot also a new lever belt that rivals SBD in aesthetic for only $143 after you use my code "NICK10" on their site. Link: markbellslingshot.com/products/strong-lever-belt?_pos=1&_sid=6efb7a1a6&_ss=r
Happy to hear someone finally mention joint health and longevity. At 48 years old, I can tell you, lifting heavy for years hurts. Great review

HB wrestling id say so. Make sure you have load management nailed down.

Slapping the like button for support. Don’t stop RUclips!
I will watch the whole video but time stamps totally help if someone wants to just watch a portion!!! Awesome job great idea for videos

Sounds like an RDX belt...
I payed 80 dollars my leaver belt and Just going to say the quality is amazing
My friend has a 60 dollar leaver belt and the difference is crazy

Just got my SBD yesterday and did my first session with it today, hit 2 back to back PRs, felt super strong
Great video bro in your opinion can you run in the gangsta knee braces

4 years late but does anyone have any thoughts about the Inzer Meastro?
Holy shit, I was just YouTubing which weightlifting is best and got a wave of nostalgia from this channel! I didn’t know Nick was still making RUclips videos, I used to watch him back in highschool.
Amazing video! So detailed and informative! Keep on making your videos Nick!
Pioneer belt with Pioneer cut. THE BEST.
Definitely, comes with a lifetime warranty too
Yessssss
Has anyone had experience with the pioneer belt pioneer cut as opposed to the sbd belt I’m between on or the other but can’t make up my mind!
KremeOnHer what’d you end up getting?
If this is still relevant i had a pioneer cut 10 mm and i just got a sbd belt and me personally i like the sbd better, I prefer the 13 mm belt over the 10 and i like the lever better than the prong. Never had any experience with a 13 mm pioneer but I absolutely love the 10 mm i just prefer sbd

Its come to my conclusion that the gear you use doesnt matter too much. What really matters is the work you put in
It very well does when it comes to belts lmfao, wtf?
Great video Nick, keep your head up
by far the best advice for lifting
Thanks, Nick! Keep up the great work!
hands down - best review I've seen so far...... excellent job...... thanks for doing this review

Good content as always. Keep up the phenomenal work.
I LOVE this vest for Running & Treadmill - Feel like a bad-ass
His editing is top notch holy shit
Nick, get a Pioneer belt to review!
great review, dope you added time stamps, straight to the point and didn't babble like theses other reviewers

You should try Pioneer Fitness/ General Leather Craft Belts
These review videos may not seem like their gonna get clicks or views now, but in the long run, they will be major. Dont quit.
Just ready to see nick powerlift again and get his 6 plate squat and 630 deadlift, but still gonna stick around for the cut
Thanks for all the information I'm just starting to bulk up enough to start lifting heavier
Love your channel bro, keep it up
The real OG of fitness RUclips.
This was unbelievably helpful. Thank you!
Elite FTS wrist wraps are real awesome too, had them for years for my girly wrists

Just hit my first 140kgs on dead. I think I should get one. Great info.
I just got a Pioneer PAL V2 13mm belt. Will use it for the first time tomorrow.
How you finding it? I'm thinking of getting either the Pioneer like yours or SBD belt
Nice video Nick!
Just stumbled upon this video. Thanks for the information! Keep up the good work!
Nice video man, very informative. Keep it up.
I use the 36" gangsta wraps for my elbows. It works real good, and real supportive.
Thanks for the time stamps bro, good stuff.
Thanks for the review on the inzer pulled the trigger on it
Great upload Nick.
Excellent review with experience. Thank you
Thanks man, really great advice all around!
Time stamps, you are the real MVP
Nick needs to be introduced to Pioneer! They are at the top of the belt game!
Please keep your videos going...please please please!!
Buy used belts on eBay prebroken in it just makes sense to me
Thank you for this video.. I'm getting back into lifting and will be needing some support items like belt & knee support.. but I may go ahead And grab wrist support too
Keep up the good work !!!
How you not even gonna throw in pioneer belts? They’re the best in the business
TehDCM He’s judging based on the belts and brands he owns
Pioneer makes the A7 belts.
What’s the website for that
Ricky Cruz generalleathercraft.com
Yeah but they're expensive as fuck
Pioneer belts are the best on the market rn just ordered my custom 13mm lever belt a few weeks ago

Keep up the channel. Good info. Interesting journey. A young powerbuilder. Worked for O'hearn.

Love the time stamps wish everyone did it thanks
I personally prefer a tighter belt on deadlifts then squats so I’m a huge fan of the inzer double prong belt
Liked, favorited, and commented. Great video!

“Dopest dope I ever smoked!!!” Awesome info, Nick.
Hell yeah thanks for the info
Good Content. Quality speaking skills, too. Great Vid!
This was a great video.
Thanks for video i just ordered a strong belt from Mark Bell Slingshot
thanks for the code!! nice info
Great video. Well done.
I got the thiccer inzer lever belt.. I got bruised bad, I thought I didn't use it right. Glad to know others delt with my issue too. Also, I wear it only when I go heavy, Soo it's still not broken in and I've had it for about 17 months
The stoic prong belt trumps the STrong belt. Like $75, 11mm and pre broken in as well
The regular strong sleeves & sbd sleeves seem to last the last the longest. I bought the gangster sleeves. They have the most compression but ripped after 5 months. At 27cm they are shorter than the sbd sleeves. Doubt I will buy them again. The sbd stiff long wrist wraps are the best by far. Five years old & still good. Inzer is the best IMO.
If I’m between 28-30 for waist size in inches what SBD lever belt size would you suggest????????!!!!!!!!!
Where do you buy a sbd 10mm lever belt?
My guy u forgot Titan Support System wraps
Just purchased a Nylon belt from Gymreapers can’t wait for it to come in 💪🏽
What about strength shop products? I like my strength shop products that I got for my first powerlifting meet
Super helpful. This video def took a lot of effort and deserves more likes.. thanks
Tuff wraps are also very good wrist wraps and they have 3 sizes (16 24, and 36 inch). Should check them out.
Damn should’ve seen this when I bought the knee sleeves haha
Love this video! If you ever quit RUclips you should start a fitness/bodybuilding podcast.
I've had an sbd belt for about a year and I've never had the red bleed that you mentioned. Might just be a defect on some belts
I have no intention of competing but I’m thinking of getting some sleeves. I know SBD has gone back to their old formula, with the knee sleeves, but do you still prefer the gangsta sleeves?
100% ESPECIALLY if you don't plan on competing. No better sleeve IMO.
Do more reviews! You're actually really good at it!
Slingshot sleeves are goated
