@@crackb0ne Jumpscares are integral to horror a lot of the time, they can be done well and are supposed to be done well. It's just company's have overused jumpscares so much that everyone just assumes they are automatically bad. Which just isn't the truth.
I really hate jump scares. Such a cheap way. Same as obnoxious loud music or tons of explosions, sex (very explicit sex scenes) and drugs plus gun shootings in movies. So lame and braindead.

What made this such a great "chamber" is that the entire time it dangles the question of whether this is all just an elaborate prank or if something is actually wrong. There's also the fact that this is Portal 2, which is not even remotely a horror game. Given the engine, I would say this is an extremely impressive horror experience.
I don't know, Portal 1 was pretty spooky at times. 2 could've done it too, but had a lot of missed opportunities (even though it's not devoid of it).
It's like your brain is fighting between the "this is just a prank" option and the "something is VERY wrong and you should get the hell out of here" option.

Good thing this mod seems to be very tamed in regard to the relativistic physics and portals. He's only gonna have mild trouble with the puzzles. Most likely will take him a couple of hours to finish one of the more advanced puzzles.

I keep coming back to this trilogy (and Watching Paint Dry, too) because not only are the mods really well done, they also prove themselves by making Jolly, who can usually take the piss out of any trying-to-be-scary game, continually almost shit himself.
Thats really well made jesus. Like its literally just mannequins at first but it still gave me large spooks and then when the mannequin on the corridor had disappeared i lost my shit.
Gotta give props to Jolly for actually react like a normal human being at spooky stuff (makes things feel more tense) rather than just scream like a manchild at the first chance. Quite the refreshing content. Im looking forward to more of this kind during this month

That whole situation was fake - the blood is ketchup, tables were overturned because someone opened a window and a light breeze knocked everything over and the mannequins were moved by... dollies.

Part 2 used to be the scariest for, until i found out how to solve part 3 till the end and, gotta warn you, it's really f cking scary. I won't spoil anything, but let's just say the first part is really sweet compared to the 2 next.
Also there is a forth part, but it's really buggy, and can hardly be completed due to crash.
Oh and by the way, the creator is really a cool and nice guy, always open to critisism and willing to help. He is currently working on a full Portal mod (not just a map) called Vahallah. Look promising. Check that out.

I love how this mod deals with music and lighting, it helps surround the tone of “being watched”. I doubt it would be as scary with happy music and bright lights all the time, i especially love the “we didn’t put any fake blood down”
