Benny's Custom Works brings you everything automotive!
Weekly Episodes right here on RUclips, as well as the shop with new & used performance parts for most Japanese makes and models.
Benny makes this stuff look like a walk in the park. Please consider the risk factors and talk to a qualified mechanic, as well as a psychologist, if you’re thinking of attempting anything you’ve seen on the show.
Take into consideration your safety, the safety of others, as well as your vehicle’s best interests- warranty, etc.
Unless you’re trained & qualified to do so, we don’t recommend modifying your vehicle in any way. Stickers don’t add HP unless installed correctly.
These long form videos are the go for sure. Makes me feel like I’m just hanging out with you guys for an hour at a time it’s nice.
Going over budget is the most budget project thing
That quick release bumper attachment is genius! Nice work!
Another school memory, woodwork class, levering wood into the disk sander shaft, and smoking out the room.
And nails for sparks!
@@Jon-R-Lee school disc sander!! Core memory unlocked.
Trans is filled up through the reverse light switch. Best way is to use a crows foot and a small shifter/ spanner should take 5L. Otherwise it kills the bearings
I was specifically scroling down the comments to find the right procedure. That's why the gearbox sticker says "do not remove filler plug".
Cool so it needs more oil then?
Thanks mate.
@@BennysCustomWorks Yes, same procedure but through the reverse light switch, which is located on the other side of the box slightly higher up
Fix it up Benny ! I always use Distilled water because our tap water has a ton of Calcium in it. Longer intake runners provide more torque. Cheers !
I see Falcon, I click like! hahaha, keep up the good work guys!
That Ford FALCOON it looks amazing Well Done Benny Fixing it up 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Gian, it's not the antifreeze that raises the boiling point of water, it's the increased pressure of the cooling system. That's why you never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. You can instantly and explosively boil the coolant and get a face full of super heated steam. It's a great way to meet emergency room nurses if you're into that kind of thing.
Actually glycol raises the boiling point some, pressure raises it further. In hot environments you need both.
@@horstkotte6114 Yes, you are correct, but the significant increase and the significant danger is caused by the pressure, so I thought that was worth mentioning.
They sell some crap as universal coolant in the US that actually is coolant, it actually has the same additive package as GM Dexcool which is kind of nasty and can cause long-term issues in Japanese cars. But, if you're boiling over and that's all the store has, it'll work.
The red/pink/blue/green coolants sold specifically for Japanese/Korean cars are all compatible. Red and green were the old Toyota and Nissan/Mazda/Subaru coolants from the '90s, then they improved them and made the new ones pink and blue, but nowadays if you buy the red or green they're the same stuff. Ford red/orange is something different though.
livin in falcon town at the moment its a comfy place to be 🤣 gold. youse a dr of falconology
im not a horse people
soo many classics, gold
The Crown definitely needs to make a comeback.
37:08 that caught me off guard, hilarious
Ocean and earth pencil case wow that’s goin back
And if you do break the crossmember they're all the same except for the zf6 speed 29:47
@@1jeremyneale916 handy! Thanks
The Bunsen burner bit…I thought you meant set the bench gas tap on fire 🔥… we used to do that on a regular basis when we had a stand in chemistry teacher 😂 don’t try that at home kids 😂😂😂
@@cutters74 we did that too but thought it less cool story friendly on impressionable Youth :D
@@BennysCustomWorks I should add that I was at secondary/high school between 85-90, so I’m hoping overall safety has improved since then and kids are a bunch of melts these days so I’m fairly sure none of them have the metal for such outlandish behaviour 😂😂😂🔥
Benny the NSW falcon guru/king.
I have a 3/8 breaker bar permanently in the glove box of my EL xr8 that i also bought specifically for that task (it used to spit belts periodically back in the day)
the undertray in my experience on a ba falcon can fix cooling issues that seem like a head gasket and it holds the bumper on and stops the side clips from breaking
if you look at a decent splitter, 50% of the front aero is the undertray
We did that at my school with the bunsen burners it's goes far!
@@LemartesLogistics you know !!
Quick blurb, from someone who does a bit of plastic melting (3d printing)
A very low melting point for plastic is 190, and those plastics will get soft and useless at 50, most commercial plastics (nylon, abs etc,) melt north of 280.
@@milumber robotic hot glue gun :D
@@BennysCustomWorks one of my favourite tools, being able to make up custom parts overnight is a game changer.
Always interesting..
Factory lines on the bar very nice
@Benny's Custom Works Dunno about your dyed water but there are glycol based coolants which CAN be mixed with any other variant, including silicate based ones. Look up G12++ / G13 (VAG) or G40 (BASF) - same thing basically. Safe to mix with any other coolant.
Still better to just flush and fill, temporary sure.
@@wobblysauce sure, always. To clear out rust and debris. Still safe to mix these coolant types.
Awesome content as usual. Be cool to see a na+t conversion using left overs from the cresta and a tune! 👍
We hooked the Bunsen burner gas line to the tap and ran gas through running water to make it look like it was on fire.
As I've gotten older, I've become more fond of the factory intake because it's not as loud. The short ram my car came with sounds like a horrible hiss.
3rd party foggies are 110 for a pair
Ah man, so good seeing those crappy plastic wipers go in the bin!
The Yellow coolant you're referring to absolutely has Glycol in it. They even guarantee it for 10 years.
Keen to see these lockmods
Fuck yeah! DRIFT REPAIRS in capital letters! Click on it...HARD! 😂
Not a Falcon expert but worked on them as an apprentice on taxis....
Most of an hour well wasted. Real garage stuff

The front bar attachment is gah, zip ties
The female version of Gian, was Giaan Rooney, the Australian swimmer, if that helps, Benny.
Should get the extractors that make it sound like a 2j now
Gianna is the short form of the Italian Name Giovanna, Gina is short for Luigia.
👌
Since the budget is blown, is there now room in the budget for a turbo? Could be a nice way of showing how cheaply to go from N/A to turbo.
"Hi Ho Silver away!" Is the Lone Ranger. Like if you remember the old TV show.
Headlights.. install ya New Cross eyes freind...
OMG flash back to year 7 science 😂
Gian is italian for glycol.
gewd falc
Over budget, is always enough budget 😆
Aren't the green red or blue additives anti corrosive and not coolant ?
Just curious where you worked on the taxis benny?
@@danielconte2954 there’s a shop about 200m from my current shop that owns all the local cabs
@@BennysCustomWorks thats cool i was wondering if it was the one i was thinking of
Most definitely is not since this one was in Blacktown
What puller tool are you using for the pulleys? I need this in my life aha
@@RheesyMcR32 it’s a toledo pulley puller made for PS pumps
@BennysCustomWorks wicked cheers mate 🤙 added to the cart already ahaha
Ben other day on you tube while filling the oil in the Xr6 drifter you poured oil into a square blue container which acted as a type of funnel. Is that a home made cut down container or something you can buy of the shelf?
Giann Rooney might weigh in on this vital issue...
I always thought coolant did nothing to help cool the water and it's purpose was anti freeze and anti corrosion ?
It doesn't cool better, pure water has better heat transfer. But it does raise the boiling point. (Plus anti freeze and corrosion inhibitors yeah)
Ah yes I got raising boiling point and helps with cooling mixed up
The yellow contains ethylene glycol
that power steering pump will give you grief at some point an under drive pulley on the crank does help prolong there life but electric is the way to go i went with a volvo s40 v50 electric pump on my Au track car over the normal astra pump people use my thought is volvo s40 is closer to the size of the falcon and they have a bigger fluid capacity and it not an astra pump lol
@@genegene447 yeah Gian’t BA has an astra pump already. Just trying to delay the inevitable really

"where are you gonna find a set of headlights for an S13 for under $300" does an 180sx count? Because if it does 5x7 headlights are as low as $40 a pair 🤣 but if you're unfortunate enough to need any body parts for one then RIP
S13 silvia. I should have been more specific
I put tap water I'm my first car it corroded the head and blew a head gasket
