Be sure to compare the 17B to the 17R, to see which might be best for you. For the most part they are alike, but the floor plan is just different enough to make a big difference. We have a video on the subject. ruclips.net/video/mC6LCIveBoc/видео.html
BTW- You should know, for good for bad, there is a BIG online community for Coleman 17b (r) campers. It is almost like the "Airstream group". You can get TONS of information from them.
It would appear that they changed the front cap design. The original 17B had a much steeper front cap and now it has the front cap like the Keystone Hideout where it is not as steep. This change should give a little more head room under the front inside shelf.
Funny you should say that. It looked "different" to me, especially from the inside, but I didn't think it was steeper ror not. I will have to look at that again.
We are thinking about getting one of these. We want something simple, coming from tent camping for 6 years. We have our two 10 year olds and a baby. I think it's perfect. Only problem, not sure if our van can pull this. We have a 2022 KIA Carnival.
to find out if a vehicle can tow an RV, simply google Towing capacity 2022 KIA Carnival. It looks like the basic Carnival is rated for about 3500 lb. This makes it iffy for the 17B. The 17B is abut 3000 lb dry. You will easily 3500 loaded. They also like to recommend at least 20% over the load. Ask your dealer, but I would say no to the Carnival.
Nice! Let us know how you like it and tell us what upgrades you are making. If you have any questions there is a a big community of 17B'ers out there. ruclips.net/video/Sq4YKCqj1ds/видео.html
U guys are doing great the 2023 model had a price drop here is Bakersfield but Bakersfield CA will increase the price if your credit is not the best you will have to up a 25%down. And the monthly price goes up to 500$ a month. I feel like camping world is marketed for the rich and not the poor and in need. 😢 I just need a home so my 10yr and my wife are not homeless. We are working to the bone. Every day jobs just don't pay very well here
We bought our camper in 2022, like it, until I found theirs only 2 outlets on the same side and maybe 4 ft. Away from each other , there is no outlet in the bathroom or by the table, the storage one door and no spring on the door, the queen bed is horrible no way out only one way, need a new design. Need an oven. I'm waiting for the new up grate like everything else for a starter.
-Thank you for your great comments. We agree with you all the way…sort of. What I mean is, we tried to make it better with some simple upgrades. -Yes, the outlet placement is terrible. We solved this a little, by easily installing outlets in the cabinet with the radio. They are now two 12v outlets. One is just like you car lighter outlet and the other is two USB outlets. We can now recharge a phone or iPad right there on the table. By getting a small inverter we can also have 110 if needed in an emergency, even if we are running just off the battery. -The “Teddy Bear” mattress is useless. We first purchased a thick memory foam mattress, and it was OK, but really hard to makeup. A fitted sheet wanted to curl up at the corners. A few months ago we purchased a real Queen size mattress on Amazon. We love it. It hangs over that almost useless shelf at the foot of the bed, a little, but honestly it is no big deal. This weekend we are actually re-configuring the dinette to allow a little more space. (BTW- The 17R helped the problem of getting out of the bed, a little, by switching things around. You can see this on our channel. All of these things are talked about in some of our videos. After this weekend I hope you will check back about our redesign of the Dinette. This might help a little. -Mattress - ruclips.net/video/exnKuxVbedo/видео.html Outlets- ruclips.net/video/9ysBHdmJSv4/видео.html
Think of picking this up as my first real camper. Have an old Apache popup that is on its last leg

Where from? Everywhere online I'm seeing 15-16k as "Sales" Price.
@tylerlanders4315 camping world. I am near Grand Rapids, MI. I went to the one on 76th Street. I went in expecting to pay $15,995. Hope it helps.
Are you sure that wasn;t a 2023 Model?
That is about what I am seeing. The Camping World near Dalles is offering the 2024 17B AND 17R for $15,995.

That sounds terrible.
We hear stories like yours, from Califorina frequently. Good luck.
