T3's restraints will squeeze the life out of your thighs. I've found that the last car isn't as bad for that. And I personally would put Lightning Run as #1 just for the first drop alone.
Kentucky kingdom is my home park and I completely agree with your list, out of all the coasters I've ridden so far storm chaser is definitely my favorite, that first drop is amazing and the rest of the layout is incredible, lightning run is great as well, my 3rd favorite just behind the voyage at holiday world, great review brother keep up the good work
Lightning Run is MUST for a ride for front-seat riders. The first drop alone is brutal and then you have the aggressive turns which only builds up that adrenaline and thrill of the experience.
When we went, we came across Storm Chaser at the very end of the day (it was a Sunday) and the park was basically cleared out - there was ZERO line, we were able to ride it over and over again! It is still my favorite coaster of all time except for Millennium Force at Cedar Point!
I like coaster that aren't intense but fun. Even though I live 19 minutes away only been once since it reopend and only ride the smaller wooded coaster. I would of tried the junior coaster but it was closed down I'm assuming for maintenance.
Kentucky Kingdom is my home park.. as much as I want to agree with you, I’d put T3 above Roller Skater (even though T3 crushes your legs). Lightning Run and Storm Chaser is a great 1-2 combo. Nice review overall!
Thank you kindly! Honestly I know it’s harsh putting T3 below Roller Skater, but if you were to ask me what I’d rather ride again, the answer would be Roller Skater in a heartbeat. I guess it’s more about expectations vs. execution. Thanks for watching!
I really appreciate your video. I haven't been to this park in many years. I do miss the Twisted Sisters (Stella and Lola) and Chang. I will need to get back down there to try these new coasters. I have to say that I rode T2 and didn't find it physically difficult, but wished for a better layout. Nice to know T3 is a bit easier, but I assume the layout is the same.
As my hometown park and the one I've visited the most I can admire this list in the explanation of each coaster and I think you numbered these accordingly storm chaser is a great coaster and is great for the small time feel of a smaller homier feel of Kentucky Kingdoms theme park 🎢🎠🎡🌉
Lightning Run is actually the only coaster I’ve been on at Kentucky Kingdom, in 2017 or so, we went to the water park part like all day, and when we were leaving I rode it twice, really good and intense for an 11 year old
when i went storm chaser was closed and me and my friend wanted to ride it soooo bad but thunder run and lighting run were definitely the best ones there and we couldn't ride T3 because they permanently closed it.
Ranking Roller Skater above T3. Of everything you could have said, you chose to speak facts. Roller Skater is the best kiddie coaster I have ever ridden, and T3 is an SLC. Nuff said.
i went here for two days and got back last night ayeee the t3 was hella fun but not my. . The kentucky fire was really fun too and it was really really smooth i was surprised. I never got on the thunderrun im pretty sure it wasnt open idk i don’t remember. . the lightning run was fun i rode it twice I liked it a lot i wanted to sit in the very back but my sister was bitching so badly about where we sat which made me unhappy . i agree about storm chasers ranking it was so fun and i love the feeling of falling out and dropping im literally in love with rollarcoasters!!!! i have a season pass to come back whenever
I hated the T3 at Louisville. I almost came out of the shoulder harness while going upside down. I have never been scared on any roller coaster but this one did me in.
Gotta ask, how tall are you? Cause I'm 6'7 and if you're getting bruises on Lightning run then I'm concerned lmao. I was barely able to ride Wicked at Lagoon
It might be because I’m a younger but I think SLC’s are fun! My mom loves them to. I remember going to Canada’s wonderland and loving it, i dont know, I’m weird
Definitely can't argue with that, I think it's a totally valid opinion. I was prepared to like Kentucky Flyer more even, until we just had some surprisingly really good rides on Thunder Run
I agree. Just came back from kk and even though I appreciate the thunder drop as more exhilarating, the ky flyer had a better run. I had like 3 0g gut tickles on ky flyer, I had 1 on thunder run.ky flyer also felt a little faster but I could ride them both. I agree with this ranking for the most part but I would say 1. Storm chaser 2. Lightning 3. T3 4. Thunder. 5 flyer (but 5 and 4 can switch) 6. Roller skater. I never had the lock problems with t3 and I was with this ride since it was batman. It's honestly one of the more smooth rides especially compared to the wooden ones. Roller skater is for kids but if I didn't have to wait in line, it is worth the rides. My little girl loved it. Ever rode a ride non stop because the employee keeps saying " no lines, wanna go again". She did it to me with ky flyer too...but in this sense I did game appreciation. Once I left her to do the more adult rides, I appreciated the ky flyer. Storm chaser is 1 can't change my mind on that. Even in a larger theme park like kings island, Storm chaser would hold its own. I think t3 could too. Can't say the same about the other ones.
Great video! I just can’t understand the love for this park and Storm Chaser. The park is dirty and badly landscaped, and lacks a single original food option. And for Storm Chaser, the inversions don’t do anything for me at all, and the airtime is too strong to enjoy when paired with RMC lapbars. Lightning Run though, may be one of the most underrated rides of all time. It’s up there with Voyage, Lightning Rod, and Steel Vengeance for me. Hopefully Herschend can fix all of the parks problems
Aha! My 2nd time at Kentucky-K which the Rollercoaster Chan' covered the skyline, plus Twisted Sisters were up and running and I'd got there so late until closing time was close but I had an okay time but this year, '2021,' I went and had 2-shockings of a visit one (1) was the fact, 'children under the age of 15 had to be in the company or an adult at least 21-years old and with it had to show legitimate ID and that blew my mind and it should be implemented nationwide! I found the day I was there which was a Tuesday school was starting the next day and that explained why there were no lines to get on any of the rides including the Rollercoasters! And the Rollercoasters God dam? I was left slacken, thrown about, dropped and shocked! None of them needed not be looked upon as the tallest, fastest nor longest shit! From the ground they seem like a typical small coaster man! I never been so shocked and/or literally terrorized in my life and that Storm Chaser had me being so glad the ride was over! That thing there was amazing! And that blue coaster, 'lighting run," the wooden one and Kentucky Flyer was in classes by themselves! Best 1/2 day spent! I'm considering making the day before School considering weather outlook a life long visit once a year! I enjoyed myself big-time! It was great! GREAT! PS. T2 was closed earlier and had it been running? I'd have road it and came to my own conclusion!!!
As an IBox track conversion of Twisted Twins that reused parts of the original support structure and track, it definitely meets the definition of hybrid
@@ThemeParkBlitz A hybrid is a roller coaster with wooden supports and steel track or steel supports and wooden track. Storm chaser is steep because Twisted Twins was a hybrid with steel supports and wooden track.
@@ThemeParkBlitz Storm Chaser’s track uses a steel structure. And its drop isn’t very steep because it has a barrel roll down drop and it has a 70ft (21.34m) drop.
@@Porge28 I know IBox track is steel, but I believe in storm chaser's case that track is resting on wood. I looked into it and although there is both steel and wood used in storm chaser, KK chose to market it as a "one of a kind new" coaster vice a hybrid or a steel coaster. Either way, it shares ride dyanmics extremely closely with other hybrids, and I think it's a rather pedantic distinction considering there is both steel and wood used in the construction
storm chaser has horrible leg restraints that are painfull.....holding your legs in a locked position......my knees are bad and i cant ride it.....bad design all around
Lightning Run is amazing! That first drop followed by the second drop is a trip dude! Nice curves
T3's restraints will squeeze the life out of your thighs. I've found that the last car isn't as bad for that.
And I personally would put Lightning Run as #1 just for the first drop alone.
T3 tried to turn my legs into Flat Stanley from gravity alone. Id be impressed if it wasn't so painful!
Umm try getting stuck on it for 40 minutes in the front.
I have season passes to kintucky kigdom
Ok that’s good for me
@@ethancochran3732 I would die
My list as someone who goes here weekly:
6. Roller Skater
5. T3
4. Thunder Run
3. Kentucky Flyer
2. Lightning Run
1. Storm Chaser
Yes, of course I am the best.
I love how you factor in torque in your reviews. Very under appreciated aspect in roller coasters.
Torque you!

That's something I would do.

My list is exactly the same from 3-6. My only difference is that I found lightning run to be more fun than storm chaser.
Lightning Run is MUST for a ride for front-seat riders. The first drop alone is brutal and then you have the aggressive turns which only builds up that adrenaline and thrill of the experience.
I always hate the first drops like I hate the feeling in my stomach

Love it
I knew someone out there would appreciate that one haha
I'm probably going to Kentucky Kingdom over this summer and I'm so excited because I love love love roller coasters. I think I'll really enjoy it.

I dont understand any of the roller coaster enthusiast jargon that you used throughout this video, but I agree.
Excellent video. And your humor is spot on!

My favorite roller coaster there is Storm Chaser, followed by Lightning Run, Thunder Run, and Kentucky Flyer.

Gotta tell it how it is, not how it's supposed to be. Facts be facts!
I like thunder run but it really hurt my back a lot otherwise pretty good
I can assure everyone that I am the best roller coaster at Kentucky Kingdom.
T3 is the only coaster I haven't been on because it was closed both times I went there in the summer of 2017.
tbh storm chaser is the best. I love the corkscrews and the speed, although it’s terrifying

T3 is terrifying, considering that you're just hanging there. Also, the restraints really hurt my thighs afterward.
Yes, but my airtime will also hurt your thighs very much.
lightning run was my very first coaster,, i wish i had gone to roller skater first lol

why all the country music, not all of us Kentuckians are country folk :p
Yes you are.

Storm Chaser with that barrel roll drop is insane! But after that it's rather timid and mediocre.
