We went back to The Ultimate Callout Challenge this year and it was as wild as expected! Back in 2019 we saw the Dirty Hooker Diesel go up in flames on the dyno! Years later they're still rocking the patina form the fire and the truck is in top form! It is the fastest 4WD Duramax on the planet and what a treat it is to watch it fly down the track!

I am in love with the truck making a charge with no black smoke " coal training " !! Mr. Banks would be proud.
That's what happens when you shove a few thousand hp worth of nitrous through a diesel. Unfortunately we can't do that on the road and make large power too.
Banks would probably want them cleaner again. There's no excuse for wasting the money by billowing unburned fuel out the exhaust, Banks proved this with his record setting trucks.
Mr. Banks would be very proud.👏

@@psychotikpaisano that's not necessarily true, I don't know their set up. However running lean will clear up your exhaust but you need EGT on every cylinder, you don't actually want thick black exhaust on the 1/4 it's full of carbon solids which increases Turbo lag significantly. You might dyno slightly worse with a lean setup and not have has much ft-lbs but your responsiveness on the 1/4 will more than make up for it. Check out Banks Power

I seen a guy on TV they said he was like the number 1 diesel tuner in America and he said if you truck is making black smoke going down a track you're note making the power you could be.
Gale Banks is the man you speak of. He was correct. To much fuel means black smoke and too rich. Which equals more power on the table when leaned out to proper ratios.
Not always the case. Overfueling also keeps things cooler. That’s why pull trucks smoke so much. Drag racing they can run them clean and take the heat since it’s less time.
@@robo1210 we use nitrous to cool down the egt’s and lean it out that’s a big part of why you don’t see much smoke. Our pulling truck runs way hotter than the drag truck. Nitrous is not allowed in the pulling class we run. We did have nitrous hooked up for this event.
@@mikepage2831 valid point, nitrous also cleans them up as well. Didn’t even think about that.

I imagine u haven't raced in events such at this and u don't realize how much fun it is and if u can somehow have a backup vehicle to stay in the race u would do that but to each is there own
Ya think you could put that 1320 bug remover stuff in ur washer fluid reservoir for bugs or ur windshield. Jeeps have this issue alot with the vertical windshield (Holly dead bug splatter marks) Just curious.

Wtf I don't like the new rule where they don't have to use the same truck that's the whole point of the competition at least it always has been that's just one of the stupidest things they could have done in my opinion that means you could have three different trucks one truck for each one but then that limits the little guys that don't have that
Agree, my favorite part was the same truck for all 3 events, it made a lot of sense.
Makes alot of sense but there are zero "little guys" in this group. Unless the little guys won the lottery and can spend 80k on a diesel motor alone 🤷♂️
Yup, totally ruins the spirt and original intent of the event.
Personally I liked the diesel power challenge with street legal trucks more. Certainly more entertaining to watch. Had actual real world tests and more tests of driver skill with the trailer driving contest, trailer towing drag race, etc.

Silly question, but was this a 1/4th mile event, or an 1/8th? Or possibly 1000ft?
I would imagine the truck is fairly capable of 5 sec 1/4th mile passes if it's pushing north of 2500-3K WHP

A 4 second 1/4 would be way faster than the 150mph these guys were putting up, a 4sec 1000ft is like 300mph trap speed if I'm remembering right, but the old brain isn't at top performance right now at the tail end of a 12hr shift so I may be off 🤟
@@Greg1096 I posted that prior to watching the Dyno runs, where even I didn't realize that drag setup was single stage thinking it was a compound during the drag when I posted that.

Hey diesel owners. Notice this thing doesn't blow massive clouds of black smoke like a dumpster fire during the entire run. Little puff of black, turns white and then clears up. Take note of that. That's what a diesel does when it runs right. Most y'alls trucks blow black smoke towing a lawn mower and a shovel. We gonna start to Put coal rollers in the same category as Carolina squatters.

@@kinsleeelliott6277 of course. All Nitrous does is ad oxygen. As long as the amount of fuel you're spraying down it's throat matches the air it's gonna burn clean. I'm talking about the guys that purposely detune their street trucks so they role big ass massive clouds of black smoke. If your trucks rolling coal it does so because it's not running right. You're choosing black smoke over performance. It's silly.

I've been telling people for years that you don't want to be chugging black exhaust it just slows down your turbo as diesel soot has carbon solids in it, glad to see someone has one tuned well IMO that's what you want to see lean is mean

there’s this g8 gt im looking at for $9,500 with 155k miles on it with cai. long tube headers. magnaflow exhaust system and a tune and it’s been taking care of. guy bought it in 2011 and put 75k miles on it he rarely drives it now and it is garage kept but idk how reliable the g8s are. what are your thoughts on it ? should i take the chance?

I’d love to see you guys come up to Michigan and tour both Dirty Hooker Diesel’s and DNR Customs shops and their rigs. Two of the best diesel truck builders in the world all in one state just a couple hours away from each other. One primarily builds Duramax’s and the other primarily builds Cummins
