One of my favourite shoes for running. Goes fast and easy to walk up hills, will definitely use this as my race shoes for the upcoming 10ks! Plus it's cheaper than all the other super trainers out there!

almost 1000 miles in my pair of Boston 12 and still enjoying them (no tear in the upper and still a fair amount of rubber under... though I'm not a heel striker)... even if I have a newer pair, I still like how my "old" pair feels.

@@jeffbarnard348 I have a pair of Endorphin Speed 3 with 50k max, I still prefer the old Boston 12 even to run 20 miles... With my stride, I mostly wear down the forefoot... and with the Speed 3, my feet are tired after 10km.

Grabbed a pair of felt tongue pads and this took away the lace bite and heel slip. Made the Boston 12 an absolute banger of a shoe paired with the NB4 for solid rotation set.

For me the Boston 12 has been the shoe I have enjoyed the most the last year. In a world where running shoes are becomming more and more bulky and tall, this shoe is a fresh breath of air. And as the review says; this shoe can do it all for a reasonable price. I have not had an Adidas shoe in my rotation for many years, and was a little worried about the minimal upper, but that has actually become one of the things I like the most about it - not so much padding to sweat down. I highly recommend it!

I really like the Boston 12 for paces around 4.45 to 5m/km (half marathon pace for me). It holds the pace well for long runs also. For faster paces I much prefer the Takumi Sen 9, Speed 4, and Wave Rebellion Flash 2. My Boston 12's have about 500km on and if i go further that 10k in the now I get stiff knees after a run.

I can only compare the Boston to the Endorphin Speed and would say the Endorphin Speed feels slightly better, but only slightly. On durability the Boston knocks the Speed out the parc. I think you can do twice the distance of the Speed in the Boston and it's better priced as well. I recently bought a second pair of Bostons over the Speeds

I think the EVO SL will replace most of what the Boston 12 used to do. Not to mention the EVO SL upper looks amazing compared to the tire fire that the Boston 12 upper (and heel lockdown specifically) can be for many runners. Superblast V2 is great for long runs and MP/HMP but beyond that I find it clunky. Tempo Next% is my favourite shoe....like....ever. 3 pairs with 1100km (treadmill only now), 800km and 250km. But I'm an Alphafly racer and love the pods. I really need to try and snag a few more pairs of Tempo Next% since it doesn't seem like Nike will produce another trainer companion for the Alphafly again. :(

B12 is a great steady long run shoe. The upper and fit get better with every km. My shoe of choice over 25km (outside of the Adios Pro 3). Outer sole lasts very well. There are better options for short, easy days since I prefer a softer shoe for those days (eg VN2, DN2 or Balos). The B12 locks into Z2 or Z3 paces well. Nimble to accelerate to quicker but a touch firm for Z4 work. Has the speed though.

I would still pick up as a daily trainer shoe that provides protection, cushion, can do slow, fast (tempo, fartlek, intervals), without carbon plated, not totally firm but soft and bouncy, that's the Asics Superblast 2. Alternatives for speed session likes of Adidas Adios Pro 3 or Pro 4, Adidas Takumi Sen 10, New Balance Revel v4, Hoka Mach 6 or Mach X 2,

I adore my Boston’s and will grab some more at discount price when I can. Don’t have an issue with the upper, it’s just the lacing system, who ever signed off on first few eyelets being that way deserves a slap. If it had a a standard lacing system, would be a contender for one of my all time favourites

Really like my Boston 12 and slowly leaning towards a full adidas rotation (takumis for track, Boston for threshold and tempo, adios pro for long runs and racing), except for recovery where the Invincible is, well, invincible.
Bostons are great although I am not fully convinced by lightstrike 2.0, I find it still too firm and a bit uncomfortable. As i am more of a midfoot/forefoot striker it does not bother me that much, but I can feel when the landing is not on the lightstrike pro foam.
A full ls pro with rods and Boston 13 will be perfect.
Curious about the evo SL but not sure it will be as efficient in terms of energy return as the Boston without rods.

The Boston is the only shoes I have two pairs of and still use the first pair, at 540 miles it still has rubber in the heal this is the first to go in any shoes I've owned. I've had that lace bite but it was only when I wore thin socks with the shoe, I use a runners knot and the shoe disappears on my foot like no other, the toe box and the drop is perfect for me, the only thing it's not an easy day recovery shoe but anything faster it's great rain or shine with that outsole and was surprised by the midsole when I ran a hilly 10k, I was able to bound down the hill with easy, I will definitely get a 3rd pair.

I’ve had to give my Boston 12s away. Couldn’t stop the heel slip and with the heel spurs I have, it would rub and was - for me anyway, unwearable. I’ve got four pairs of Adios Pro 3s and haven’t had that problem so thought the Boston would be a good option. For me it wasn’t but I did get them for 1/2 price ($80 US), so I’m not going to complain too much. They just weren’t for me.

I have both SL2 and Boston 12. I'm shocked that people are comfortable calling the Boston 12 a daily trainer. In my opinion, they're way too stiff for that (and I've put over 200km in them).
The SL2 are softer, more flexible and can still get up to speed but without the snappiness of the Bostons.
I use my Bostons on tempo/interval days and the SL2 during all other runs. I usually run 5 days a week and use the Boston on maybe just one run.
